- As promised, a bumper #TwoMinuteTuesday, packed with all the changes I could find to the #smokecontrol elements in the new draft of BS 9991. 📑
There are some really significant changes with which you should acquaint yourself as they’ll make a fundamental difference to the way buildings, systems and procedures are created, no matter whether you’re in #construction, #architecture, #engineering, or the #propertymanagement / #propertymaintenance sector.
Whilst it’s long, I hope you find it helpful and I’d be really glad of your comments on the proposed changes. 👇🏽 If you’ve spotted anything you think I’ve missed, likewise, please let me know 😊

I’m not understanding A.5.1.C. If the minimum dimension in any direction of the smoke shaft is 0.85m2 then this gives a minimum cross-sectional area of 0.7225m2 so where does 0.6m2 come from?
Hi! Do you know anything about the changes with the new BS9991 2022? Have you seen the draft?
Thanks for the comment Adyero! Yes, if you take a look at the video, we run through the smoke ventilation changes to BS 9991. Cheers!
Hi there. For natural smoke shaft, are aov shaft doors not allowed as per the new bs9991 draft? Only smoke control damper allowed? Thank you.I subscribed.
Correct Marns, door type products won't be allowed and only BS EN 12101-8 dampers will be acceptable. Hope that helps 😊
