It has been done by others, when I moved the digester to the shed I had to empty it, and I found there was a lot of grass from the cow manure still in the bottom, from what I’ve seen it can work - it’s organic matter - but how well it digests, I don’t know.
Are you still using the aquarium heaters? I have put a ventilated tube 900 mil with holes 30 mil holes drilled along it and 300w aquarium heater. I’m checking it weekly for fouling and it is not getting fouled. Checked the tank when I got home 29° at mid tank. Thanks for the tip for the fertilizer sales I will start looking into that.
Hi how many liters is that tank system behind you to get 250 liters, of fertilizer to be able to sell at $2 per liter. How much waste do you put in? Do you put meat byproducts or just vegetation. How big of a tank would some one need to yield the same amount? Thanks for the info
Each tank is 1000L, the amount of waste varies as we don’t waste much but a kg a day mixed with water would very acceptable and keep the bacteria feeding, meat is fine to put in, there are also other systems that run on dog droppings, there is a video floating around of a lamp being powered by it at a dog park, as far as volume - you get out what you put in 15L of ground up waste give 15L give or take some residual solids that stay in the tank
Not yet, I did look into it, the nearest lab is in Sydney, I’d need to post a sample off and the cost is several hundred $$. I don’t need to know but it would be nice to get an idea, the makeup would always change due to the different materials being fed into it.
I'm starting to build my first IBC digester from an IBC I've had for a couple years. I've just been offered around 16 more IBC's, but they have ?? left in the bottom.. One looked like clean engine oil, one looked like old engine oil. From the outside the rest look the same.. Found videos that use Dawn dishwashing liquid to clean IBC out. Have you ever needed to clean one out or know of best practices to do this?? I'm hoping to make quiet a bit of fertiliser :D
Not particularly, It was my first ever digester, so it was already set up and now I just use it as a holding tank, typically you want the food you put in to stay in there for at least a 28 period just to make sure all the digestate has been digested, the blue tank is unheated and has a small gas bag attached, in theory if everything was fully digested there would be no gas in that small bag, or another option to stop the bacteria in that tank is to add a small aquarium pump with an air stone to oxygenate the liquid to kill off the bacteria
Have you ever considered filling a large capacity propane tank such as people use when there is no gas supply to their homes ? Then you could store loads more gas ?
Considered it yes, I’ve seen big tanks like you are talking about at Cape Tribulation in North Queensland where everyone is off grid due to the protected rain forest, but they are all liquid fuels to run generators, I did suggest to one fruit farm up there to try Biogas with all their organic waste.
Thanx for the awesome content, what’s the dilution ratio for this liquid gold?
Great videos...I binge watched them all!
Thanks for the videos. They are helping us a lot. :)
A cryocooler would be a good addition. It would liquefy your biogas.
Thanks for the upload, always a pleasure to watch. Any feedback from you or the customers for the best ratio to dilute the liquid fertilizer?
I think I covered it in a very early video, but I typically use 500ml of concentrated to 9 L of water
Thanks again for sharing ...
Thanks, I enjoy spreading the knowledge
You mentioned that you don’t waste much in terms of food scraps, therefore didn’t have much to feed the digester. Could you use some lawn clippings?

Thank you for the info. Another thought I had, perhaps not a good one: what about shredded paper from all the bills?

Please give me more information

Did you ever get the liquid fertiliser analysed to show / prove it's content ?

Yes I did clean them out, some “earth friendly” detergent and triple rinsed before use and no issues
@@OkAtEverything-ProAtNothing Awesome :D Cheers
will the gas utility (if exists) accept excess methane?
What are the said effects
I am building a home digester, to purify the biogas how do you make your liquid? bleach? caustic soda? thank you for your answer
Paolo Monti italy
I can run a heat pump off one of these for heating and cooling can’t I?
Is there any particular reason for the blue barrel that is in between the two tanks?

How’s the biogas coming mate

Dude, that thing sticking out your shnoz is really wreaking havoc with my autism. I can't focus on what you are saying!
