SkittleRampage for outta box collectors I think Funko should make like a playing card size picture of the pop, it ships with the box or inside the pops box, and it can be like a plastic card and have the stickers on the back for the exclusive place it’s at or for the variant of chase, or if it glows, so outta box collectors can keep them out and it can also have value since they don’t have to keep so much space for the box if They NEED to have space

I don't care at all about value, but I do like the boxes. If I go into financial troubles, I can just but them back in the box, and it's as good as new and worth at least what I bought it for. The middle ground for me is turning the box to the side where the character artwork is, and putting the figure in front. You can even stagger them upwards like a staircase by just finding a shoebox that's the right size, putting the nebxt row of boxes on that, and then putting the figures on top of the first row
I also like to display the boxes to the side where the character artwork is located. That's why I like Funkos, there are so many different display options. Right now I''ve displayed some of my out of box pops on top of their boxes showing the artwork so I can see both.
I have pops out of box because I personally prefer them that way. I like to look at them outside of the package. The pops in box I have no where to display them yet.The problem I do have is where to store all the empty boxes! In those circumstances, I begin to think; in box is better.
I usually display them in boxes, but sometimes I just choose a few to take out of the box to display them when I feel like changing things up. Then when I want to change which ones I want out, I put the current ones back in the box and display them like that again.
Well I prefer how they look out of box however I agree the box art on the side is awesome so I actually keep the pop outside the box and the box is right behind it showing the art.
I keep mine in the box i only opened it if i want to take pictures of it after i'm done taking it i put it back in the box. My Funko Pops are my kids! I take care of it and also the box is a big deal to me especially now my Funko Pop! Yugioh Dark Magician Hot Topic Exclusive the price went high! so happy!
I don’t keep the pops in their boxes most of the time, but I don’t trash the boxes either. The only one still in the box is the newest one I got for Christmas as it’s also in a protector.
I just started collecting funkos and I have to display them outside of box because I want people to see all the details . I do keep the box in a very safe place and in perfect condition . Hopefully that helps to retain value if I ever want to sell .
I’ve watched so many collectors series come and go over the years that I know it’s all a hustle. If you’re planning on selling them because of value, do it now!!! I’ve got closets filled with beanie babies, Disney vinylmations, and happy meal toys worth only pennies on the dollar they were once valued at. For this reason I unbox. These are my toys, I’m not reselling

I agree with you, I have never taken mines out the box I’m kinda eh about it but seeing people’s displays makes we want to but obviously keep the box’s
I personally collect mine in box because I like how it they look on my shelf, I’ve had at least one figured doubled up because someone gifted it to me because it made them think of me and that particular one is out of the box with the box as a background for it on the shelf. It’s all personal preference. As long as the person is having fun collecting is the biggest point
Thank you for making this video, SkittleRampage! I was always wondering what to do for a long time. I came to her choice and I’m keeping them out of the box. Thanks again!
In box for me, it keeps the figures in safe condition (even though I don't intend to sell), not as easy to lose/misplace, no instance (or less likely) to have it fall of the shelf and your dog to have a new chew toy, easier to stack, I honestly like how the boxes look, and in a weird way I enjoy holding them and like the feel of holding the box
At the beginning I liked having to have them out of box but because of that my mercy funko broke when a earthquake hit.( R.I.P Mercy) Now I do both in box and out.
I think the boxes are cool too but it means you don't get to see the whole figurine for example the mayor of the nightmare before Christmas funko pop has a whole other face that's you can't see if you keep him in the box (you can't even see the other face in the box art) and most people don't buy funko pops for selling they buy it because they like it but I do understand in the box it's easy to stack and the box is cool
I do both but I prefer to collect out of the box to see the details and save on display space. If the pop has a nice sticker (the Pop in a Box sticker is my favorite), is expensive, or looks nice inside the box, I'll display it inside the box. If I really like the pop and it's a common that I can get for cheap, I will consider buying two to do both.
I’m missing boxes on some .. so I guess I’m both 😂😂😂 Trying to find the designs for the missing boxes tho so I could print them and complete the collection and officially be an inbox collector 😂😂✌️
I really wish I got into Funko Pops when I used to work at Hot Topic back in 2015 when Funko Pops was getting popular. Soo much exclusives I missed out on and I could have gotten a discount on them
I keep my figures out of box but make sure to hold onto the boxes in storage. If I ever decided to sell these or trade them or something one day.... do this make them lose value?
I have been slowly buying Star Wars funko pops, I have always collected out of the box and never intended to sell. The question came up when I bought a Dipper and Mabel funko pop. I just like to look at them.
I used to be an oob collector because I liked being able to pick up a pop and being able to look at it without having to take it out of a box every time. But now I have over 400 pops and ran out of room for oob a long time ago and now collect in box since they take up less space
When I first started collecting funko pop with jack I kept him in box then I collect even more I open them to look at the details but now with my second collection of funko pops there all in box.
i have a really small collection i have 4 pops in total i have two out of box my star wars ones mando with the child and cobb vanth and i have duke leto in box and a harry potter one in box i jus like how it looks half boxed half unboxed edit: now my collection is unboxed i have leonardo, zombie deadpool, duke leto and mandolorian holding baby yoda.
I only take my pops out if my box comes damaged & I don’t want deal with the return/replacement process. I feel like the whole point is to keep it unopened. But in the end that’s what makes me happy. If you open yours, all the power to you
What I do is take out the pops I love for display (mostly big ones) and put the figures on a shelf as well as the boxes on a seperate one with the box sideways so that it shows the full pic of the pop.if it's autographed then is the only time I'll 100% keep it in a box. The pop itself isn't rlly the value most times, everyone for some reason cares for boxes more. Though it is important to keep your pops good condition.
I personally think that if you want to buy funko pops as an investment, box them up keep them in a protector, if you dont and want to have fun then enjoy yourself and take it out the box
What I do with my collection is I have some of my pop out of box and have the box in pop protectors so when I need to put them back in there in mint condition
I've heard pvc figures get a sticky coat on them in box bc of lack of oxygen. Does that happen to funko pops or are they not made with the same material that woulf hey sticky without oxygen
it's better to keep them in the box because some funko pop figures have small feet and can't stand on their own. also the bobblehead ones you got to be really careful with those because if you're not the head will come off
I like Funko Pops better in the box and not to unbox them because there’s one time I saw my old Bob Ross Funko Pop that I got back in 2018 and then one of my former dogs have chewed on them. That’s why I prefer to keep Funko Pops better in the boxes.
I keep my favorite looking ones out of box in a display case and I keep the boxes on my in box display case and I switch out which ones are in the display case and which ones are in the box monthly
I'm just starting to collect some, they look better out of box, but at the same time they look good inside their boxes, and the boxes have different colors and theme.
I'm only just starting to want to collect Funko pops but atm I only have 4 but I took them out of the box bc I didn't realize it mattered so I'm just going to keep them in a normal box and just restart my collection and keep them in the boxes this time 😂
When somethings mass produced and overpriced, it won't ever be worth anything in the future. Especially when everyone's refraining from opening them and collecting with the intention to sell on. Its called inflation. The reason star wars is worth alot is because no one predicted the price boom.... and every kid opend there box 😂. These plastic dolls main selling point is they'll be worth money in the future 😂 and that's what every collecter says. WHO?! is going to buy them in the future? I'm curious when everyone under cuts eachother and all the collecters already have them all. Stop being a bot
I think I prefer in the box for the pops I love the detail of the box as much as the pop itself and its easier to stack them if you use shelfs or other displays when your collection grows
I’m an inbox collector but I’m just starting. The only ones I’ve taken out are ; CODENAME E.L.F and Bonnie the bunny. The rest I collect are staying in the box. I do think the 10 inch ones should be taken out though
I mean if I ever get funko pops I would get them out to like look at them and put them back in the box to like stack them or put them away when I’m not using them
I have a small collection (30+). So I like to stack my pops and keep them in the box. I only get ones that I like either design or the series that it's from.
I just got my first funko pop 10 minutes ago and I’m getting another one this helped so much I already know it’s going to be an obsession I’m into marvel funkos :)
to be or not to be? that is the question. whether tis noble....... no seriously when you said if you really cant decide ig you have to buy two of each i dieD laughing bc im so in decisive on this and genuinely contemplated buying double of a couple of the newer commons😂😂😅
I started taking all my pops out of the box. For me in box made me stop collecting. I live in the country and i can never find the funkos i want locally. So i have to order which means the boxes are always dammaged. So i stopped collecting in box and tbh i love it. Its less stressful they're easier to get. Plus it saves space
What if you took it out of the box and put it back in when selling? How you would be able to tell? I just bought my first pops so wouldn’t even call myself a ‘casual collector’ but there is no seal on the box to tell if it were ever taken out
I have a pop that should be coming in August, and it'll be my first one. I have other kinds of figures, but I have them out of the box, but I do keep the boxes in my closet where they won't get smashed. I have an empty shelf just for the pop that's coming, I'm definitely gonna keep the box because the funko pop boxes always look so cool 👏
I’m watching this a year later after it got posted but the reason why I searched it up bc I have one I got for Christmas and I got it out of the box now I dunno if that was a good idea
To be honest, for me personally, it sucks that marvel funkos are bobbleheads, I would love to take them out, however, I'm OC in a way that I feel like dust might acccumulate on those bubbleheads especially because I'm out of the house alot. So I keep them on their boxes. Anime and tv show pops, I don't mind taking out of their boxes because they're just solid
I keep my pops mint in box. Hell, sometimes I collect more than one of the same pops just for box art "errors". Like a couple of the same Pennywise pops - 2 of the same but with different "eye-colors" on the different box. It's just me and the way I role. I respect everyone's opinion or way they collect.
I hope you enjoy the video! Make sure to leave a like!
My question to you would be... What's worth more... The box without the Pop.. Or the Pop without the box? 🤔
@@Sean360Lennox The Pop itself is worth more.

Will it loose value if I take it out of the box but then keep the box???
No cause the box doesn't have a seal so someone doesn't really know if you took it out or not
I Collect my Funko Pops Outside the Boxs but I Keep my Boxs Handy Just in Case
it's better to keep them in the box because some funko pop figures have small feet and can't stand on their own. also the bobblehead ones you got to be really careful with those because if you're not the head will come off
I like Funko Pops better in the box and not to unbox them because there’s one time I saw my old Bob Ross Funko Pop that I got back in 2018 and then one of my former dogs have chewed on them. That’s why I prefer to keep Funko Pops better in the boxes.
i agree. why would they put alot of effort in the box if it wasnt meant to be displayed
Exactly!
I keep my favorite looking ones out of box in a display case and I keep the boxes on my in box display case and I switch out which ones are in the display case and which ones are in the box monthly
Imagine all those who have the Toy Story Funko Pops and keep them in their boxes without a hint of irony.
I'm just starting to collect some, they look better out of box, but at the same time they look good inside their boxes, and the boxes have different colors and theme.
I'm only just starting to want to collect Funko pops but atm I only have 4 but I took them out of the box bc I didn't realize it mattered so I'm just going to keep them in a normal box and just restart my collection and keep them in the boxes this time 😂
Buy gold these will be worthless soon
@@captainsirtommoore9303 that's ridiculous
When somethings mass produced and overpriced, it won't ever be worth anything in the future. Especially when everyone's refraining from opening them and collecting with the intention to sell on. Its called inflation. The reason star wars is worth alot is because no one predicted the price boom.... and every kid opend there box 😂. These plastic dolls main selling point is they'll be worth money in the future 😂 and that's what every collecter says. WHO?! is going to buy them in the future? I'm curious when everyone under cuts eachother and all the collecters already have them all. Stop being a bot
@@captainsirtommoore9303 I'm guessing you've forgotten about Pokemon cards......it's the exact same concept
@@Ryujenini go ahead invest in your dolls and comment back in 20 years tell me how it's going
I think I prefer in the box for the pops I love the detail of the box as much as the pop itself and its easier to stack them if you use shelfs or other displays when your collection grows
I keep mine is the box because I don’t wanna get the actual pop ruined and I like how they look in it
I’m an inbox collector but I’m just starting. The only ones I’ve taken out are ; CODENAME E.L.F and Bonnie the bunny. The rest I collect are staying in the box. I do think the 10 inch ones should be taken out though
Agreed
like buy two of each is what i want to do but ........... it will be 30 dollars for each pop you want to add to your collection
I mean if I ever get funko pops I would get them out to like look at them and put them back in the box to like stack them or put them away when I’m not using them
Same mine are in the box but I take them out whenever I want to see them
So what about figures that can not be scene from the outside should I take it out of box?
I uh…. I do both… am I a bad person? LOL
Edit: I obviously didn’t get to the end yet when I asked this question.
Thank you for this video it really helped me out as I am just starting my funko pop collection and only have just a few right now.
What I do is take it out box but still keep the box
Here’s what I do. I take the pop out of the box… then I keep the box. Also I keep some of them in the box
I don't plan to sell them I just keep them in the box because its easier for me to display rn
If I take the pop clean out of the box and don't damage the box. If I then want to sell it, will it make a big difference?
I got my first funko pop it was the energizer bunny I was confused If I should keep it in or not
So then I should display any signed pops out of box ( signed on box of course )
to be or not to be? that is the question. whether tis noble....... no seriously when you said if you really cant decide ig you have to buy two of each i dieD laughing bc im so in decisive on this and genuinely contemplated buying double of a couple of the newer commons😂😂😅
actually im planning to get 2 copies of pop from now on then one in box one out of the box.
What shelves are you using
What if you took it out of the box and put it back in when selling? How you would be able to tell? I just bought my first pops so wouldn’t even call myself a ‘casual collector’ but there is no seal on the box to tell if it were ever taken out
My secret is never open signed funko pops and put it on a protecter
I only put my glow in the dark pops out the box
Does the glow stuff come off the more you handle them?
I like inside the box but also feel like displaying outside idk what to do 😭
Hey I have a question how much are the monthly boxes and how many do they have also can I select a genre of pops I want a month or is it random?
What monthly pops are you referring too?
I’m sort of both and sometimes I’ll take the figure out and use the box as backgrounds for it and figures related with it
I have a pop that should be coming in August, and it'll be my first one.
