Finishing the Hackberry and Doing Some Woodyard cleanup: July 2024

  • In this video I finally finish up splitting some Hackberry rounds. This is the last of a very large pile of logs and rounds.
    I was very grateful to be able to have those logs in my woodyard, but they were in a location where they were really in the way. Now that they are gone, as I find time I can start to reposition my firewood operation more out into the field versus right up against my backyard-road.

    I really enjoy "the hack" when it's cut green and frozen solid, otherwise I hate it. Makes wonderful boiler wood.

      @thehogslogs8631 the pickaroon is definitely a multi-use tool!
      I'll try to get to it by winter but no promises. 😁. Lots of family stuff planned this fall including my son's 16th bday! Got a couple other projects in the hopper right now too.
