From a Pommie who's heart lies in Oz, thanks Chris, for bringing me the lifestyle I remember so fondly. Over the course of 4 visits to your incredible country, I was fortunate enough to spend almost 3 years travelling Australia. The majority of my travels were solo, living a similar existence to your videos. First and second trip's were in an old Toyota Hi-Ace pop top camper. It took a little time to get used to three on the tree, but I loved every second whilst out bush. My last trip, I bought a Holden Rodeo flat bed ute with a Candy Canvas slide on camper unit off Aussie E-Bay whilst still in the UK. A bit of a gamble, but one that worked. This enabled me to get fully off road. I fished, I ate what I caught. I'm 70 next year, so my solo travelling days are a thing of the past. Please keep up the fabulous work that you do, it really is a breath of fresh air. I'm now opening a beer, blowing the froth off, deep swig and "Aaaaaah".

Chris, you are becoming synonymous with adventure. The time you take to make these videos and spend time away from the family and those amazing kids is a testament to your effort to make solid gold content. I hope the channel grows and grows and 50yrs from now your kids can go back and show their kids what their grandad was able to do.

Freaking spectacular scenery Chris! That open field next to a flowing river, just pure amazing Australian landscape. I've watched your videos through out the years and each video is completely different from the next. Happens to the best of us mate. Just finished cooking a pizza on bbq - took it off the rack, slipped off the spatula- face down on the floor! Told the wife , the pepper grinder needs replacing 😂

You always find some pristine places good country,native animals and reptiles that you find different plant life. And this trip some nice looking trout. I don’t know where you were but the country was brown and dry, on the edges a touch of green plenty of water in those creeks keep it up Chris great vids really enjoy no dog this time. Neil.

I bought a Rapala CD4, from memory, in Rainbow Trout pattern about 25-30 years ago and it has been a fish catcher ever since.
I don't get the chance to use it much but earlier this year we went to the Grampians and I went for a quick fish before dinner.
3rd cast in some pretty skinny water and a very nice Reddie jumped on.
I'm almost scared to tie it on these days in case I lose it.

A while back I collected a few vintage Rapalas off Ebay and they're lovely looking old things.
Not sure what I will do with them as it would be a shame to lose them or damage the packaging.

I had a minus 18 night very close to where you camped with my son and my mate. he did it heaps harder than I did because my son was young enough to still sleep with his dad and act like a hot water bottle! caught my first 10 pounder the same day! Hot tip. you should have swapped the teaspoon for that woollybugger. Thanks for another great adventure.

these lakes are part of the snowy hydro electric scheme, this lake is waaaay low so they can build a new section :)
