If you need something lighter, or you want to re-use the polymorph for something else, just use the polymorph as a mould and paint about 7 layers of latex (Or white glue for those who are allergic to latex, but it'll take longer to dry) make sure to powder it before removing it fro the polymorph and fill the inside with cotton balls or tissue paper.
Oh. My. God. This LITERALLY could not have come at a better time- I've decided to make my own horns cause all the ones in store are just too bulky! Thank you so so so much!!
Wow...I love watching you work. Your such an inspiration to me as a paper/mixed media artist. I started following you because I suddenly discovered how fun makeup can be...at 47! but i stay because your work inspires me in other areas.
This video was really helpfull thank! I solved the weight problem by making the basic shape with aluminum paper and then covering it with polymorph. They weight less that way an also you use less polimorph.
That’s what I’ve been doing ever since - wish I’d thought of it at the time. They worked well then though as they weren’t too big. Well done for thinking of it!
I dont know why but watching you paint this is making me want to eat murray mints!!! This is an amazing halloween idea your so talented well done you xx
+Donna Ward You could use regular face paints but you may want to spray them with some sort of sealant. Even hairspray just so they have some protection incase it rains.
This is one of the better horns tutorials I've seen. Do you know if you can still glue them to your skin if I make them very much bigger? Or will they be too heavy?
can I use the gelatin method in replacement for the sculpting gel? or can I morph the polymorph beads into a way to make it look as if the horns are coming out of my forehead
Hi! Where can you get all of the materials on short notice? I need to make some horns for a film shoot in two days, and can't seem to find anything anywhere! :(
For modelling work on figurines yes, but it would be too heavy for human feet and you’d need a lot! For ears you’re better off using sculpt gel if you’re sculpting a point to the ears. If you want something more elaborate then sculpt the ear shape from clay or plasticine and then apply thin layers of latex over the plasticine ears until it’s thick enough to hold it’s shape. Dust it down with powder on both sides and voila, you have some ears!
Wow this looks great, could you just paint the polymorph horns in normal acrylic paint ? Or do you have any suggestions that are cheaper than those amazing palettes. Thanks :-) x
+Shonagh Scott Thank you for the information. OMG i'm shocked that you used to live in Cyprus. I live in Nicosia. And you where did you use to live in Cyprus? And sorry for my bad English
ShadowWatcher DemonSlayer if you want a more permanent thing you can cover your horns in acrylic medium. You can buy it with either a matte finish or a gloss finish. You can find it at your local art/craft stores or some dollar stores and super markets.
I'll be honest, I didn't weigh it, I just poured in enough to make more than I needed as you can alway re-use the block you've melted. So it won't go to waste.
Ashley Papp i see ;o thank you but i'm planning to make it a little bit smaller.Actually I already made it ,it looks great but I didn't stick it on my face yet.So if I can't stick it on me I'll try your suggestions ;)
Shonagh - I was working with polymorph tonight for the first time.. I have the skin illustrator palettes and obviously the 99% alcohol needed to activate them.. For some reason the color just wouldn't stick to my cooled polymorph.. Any ideas why?? Was I using too much alcohol maybe? :) thank you and I think you're wonderful xxxx
Yeah it's likely the ratio of alcohol to paint wasn't right. Try using less alcohol, or mixing the alcohol with the paint for longer so the paint is more concentrated.
+Ghousia Chaudry It may not be for everyone, but the thumbnail is so people know what the tutorial is about. Thumbnails are important, sorry if you didn't like it.

+Isla Stewart Surprisingly simple eh!
Great tutorial, just wondering what other paints could be used to paint the horns once made? Thank you
+Donna Ward You could use regular face paints but you may want to spray them with some sort of sealant. Even hairspray just so they have some protection incase it rains.

+Bridgette Pinkelman That's ok :)
Hi! Where can you get all of the materials on short notice? I need to make some horns for a film shoot in two days, and can't seem to find anything anywhere! :(
Is it possible to use the plastic to create other things? Such as ears or feet?
For modelling work on figurines yes, but it would be too heavy for human feet and you’d need a lot!
For ears you’re better off using sculpt gel if you’re sculpting a point to the ears. If you want something more elaborate then sculpt the ear shape from clay or plasticine and then apply thin layers of latex over the plasticine ears until it’s thick enough to hold it’s shape. @@ShonaghScott Okay awesome! Thank you!

+Shonagh Scott Thank you for the information. OMG i'm shocked that you used to live in Cyprus. I live in Nicosia. And you where did you use to live in Cyprus? And sorry for my bad English
Hi, what did you use to stick it on to your forehead? and are there alternatives?
She used spirit gum to stick it to her forehead
+Rachel Anketell 😂
Is your skin illustrator palette one of the 'on set' palettes or is it just a slightly different version of the regular ones? Thanks heaps :)
So amazing
+Scot Neilson Thanks
I've been looking online and I can either get a 100g set or 500g which one would be more suitable?
+Simone Lee Hmm... Get 500g to be safe. It should be more than enough.
Did you add some afterwards to keep the paint on, because mine keeps chipping away
ShadowWatcher DemonSlayer if you want a more permanent thing you can cover your horns in acrylic medium. You can buy it with either a matte finish or a gloss finish. You can find it at your local art/craft stores or some dollar stores and super markets.

Shonagh Scott thank you, looks amazing and perfect for what i need for my exam :)
It is very cool but I would like to know what is the amount of polymorph to be used. 50g?
I'll be honest, I didn't weigh it, I just poured in enough to make more than I needed as you can alway re-use the block you've melted. So it won't go to waste.
Awesome idea! Whats the nail polish color? :)
+Bianca Larochelle I made it myself. I mixed a nude gel & white gel together.

I cant find polymorph or stuff to stick the horns on my face so im not being anything for this holloween ☹
You can purchase latex ones online for around £10 and you can purchase pros aide or spirit gum online too.
@@ShonaghScott Thank you 💜
it's amazing! wow :)
+AngelinaBubble Thanks a lot.
What is polyphorm ?
Polymorph is a non-toxic plastic that can be melted and molded to create what you need.
Can I do it with polymer clay?
I've tried and, personally, it was too heavy to stick to my face. You can use aluminum foil and latex though
Ashley Papp i see ;o thank you but i'm planning to make it a little bit smaller.Actually I already made it ,it looks great but I didn't stick it on my face yet.So if I can't stick it on me I'll try your suggestions ;)
Great! Good luck!

+Ghousia Chaudry It may not be for everyone, but the thumbnail is so people know what the tutorial is about. Thumbnails are important, sorry if you didn't like it.
+Shonagh Scott i liked it... i loved it.. but i just thought it could have been more subtle for people who cant handle that much gore..
Good
The people who put a thumbs down only did it cause it didn't work for them
