2015 Chevy 2500 Transmission harsh shift, bangs into gear, converter shudder, P0741 TCC stuck, 6L90e

- Customer was stating the transmission shifts hard, slips and bags into gear. Check engine light is on and diagnostic trouble code is P0741 torque converter clutch stuck off. Transmission fluid is dark and has metallic debris in it. Verified customer concerns and also torque converter shudder. Dropped the transmission pan and checked for contents. Found excessive metallic debris build-up on the magnet. Recommending transmission replacement.

Great Video ! My 2016 silverado 2500 HD just went to the dealer today for all those symptoms and it's got right under 35,000 miles on it and they said they're so backed up it's going to be days before they can even look at it . Any advice ?

@@davemiller5984 Just got it back about a week ago and they went ahead and replaced the transmission at no cost . It seems to be working fine . I'm happy and I'm sticking with GM . It's my second brand new silverado and I'm kinda starting to think about my third . We have a fantastic chevrolet dealership here where I live . God Bless America ! I was very impressed by the way the whole thing was handled .
@@randyscott3386 that's great news. I bought my truck used from a gm dealership and it has 44k miles on it. Will gm cover the transmission if it needs replaced? The dealer is telling me that my warranty is expired.
@@davemiller5984 If your warranty is expired I'd go to the dealership and buy an extended warranty before the transmission goes out . Mine was out by 4,000 miles and they went ahead and honored it . They've got a huge mess to deal with and they know it . There's people sayying that the transmission problem has the potential to bankrupt GM again . How many times has that happened I wonder ? It's like the cadillac northstar all over again . I'm going to buy an extended warranty for my truck but I haven't done any shopping for one yet .
@@randyscott3386 mines doing the same 1st time it went in and the torque converter was changed, got it last Friday and the next day engine back on read the code and it said the same the PO741, so im heading back to the dealer because im still under warranty, smh. Did the dealer put the same transmission or a different one in so you wont have the same problem as before??
My 2015 1500 Silverado with 43xxx miles just started throwing p0741 I'm not happy about it at all.
What did this end up costing you?
