I like the idea of this being the Mario from the mainline Mario games who after being discarded by Nintendo and replaced a non-Italian poser had his entire world crumble around him both mentally and literally. Now nothing more than a spiteful husk of who he once was Mario wants nothing more than to destroy the ones who created his agony as well as anyone who gets in his way.
