  • First of all, the strategy isn't original. This video here was extremely helpful and absolutely genius:
    • Homm5 ToE Flamboyant E...
I just saw some things that I thought could be improved with my own, more generic build of Kujin (without picking "Shatter" skills that I don't like on principle because of how situational they are) and tried reproducing the fight using the strategy from the video. In the end our casualties are roughly the same, but at least the audio quality is better. :)

Thank you so much for posting this. Everything I tried before watching this didn't work.

A couple of notes: since enemy AI seems partially pseudo-random, sometimes the enemy hero doesn't start casting frenzy (although in my initial tries, before using this more aggressive strategy, it did every time) or, on the contrary, goes fully defensive and leads all soldiers to the corner.
It seems like aggression AND pretending to be defensive at the same time is sort of the best option.
That's why I always cast "Haste" on pretty useless centaurs in my first turn - when I don't, the enemies act more defensively, but when I start buffing my archers, they start pouring out of the castle. HOWEVER, you can't be too aggressive (moving wyverns and chieftains closer to the wall) or archdemons and grunts will start teleporting/jumping out of the castle too and swarm you.
At the same time engaging enemies seem to prevent the enemy hero from using "Frenzy". In any case, if he uses it a lot in your game, just try different "seeds" (pseudo-random AI seem to be "seeded" from our own actions - what you do, what orders you give, even if they don't directly imply certain rational reaction from the computer). While I did use goblins' skill every turn just in case, I doubt it's the only reason the AI didn't try to frenzy my soldiers (because it also didn't try that during the first turn - even before my goblins were given a turn).
BTW, speaking of mind control - I don't know if they changed it in the last version but in my game (the last version) the fight against the orcs was the only one mini-boss fight where the enemy used Frenzy or Puppet Master (which, according to the guide on celestialheavens.com, enemies in all fights love spamming like crazy).
Finally, a catapult - imo, it's best to not use it at all. It just looooves to hit anything BUT the part of the castle you ordered it to hit (especially when it has 3 shots and just bombards everything mindlessly). The damage from towers is miniscule so it can be safely ignored, and intact walls are good for you since they only leave most enemies 1 way out of the castle.
Anyway, to me it was originally the hardest fight (Freyda and Wulstan were a walk in the park due to their powerful light magic and decent armies, Ylaya was harder but still pretty easy due to the sheer size of her army), and if not for that video (from the description), I'd never thought it's doable with so little losses.

Wow finally someone who seems to be really good this battle is such a pain for me because the orc magic impact on the game is non existent in comparison to zehir which with the right spells can defeat even deadly rated enemy also demons keep sumoning theese hounds until there are like 10 stacks each with 600+ so they oneshot most of your units. I outplayed every ai in the game even if it should be unbeatable but this is just another level, my respect for beating it.

There are a couple of reasons why this battle is more difficult than the others:
    1. Kujin. Why not Gotai? Uhhh....
    2. A horrible selection of your army. Why not trappers instead of silly witch dancers? Why not executioners or even slayers instead of useless chieftains? And the worst of all: the untamed cyclopses. When there are not much space, it is nearly impossible to attack them without smashing your own troops. I simply hate them.
    3. Unfair troop selection of the enemy hero. He has 3 stacks of his favourite troops, hell hounds and their both upgrades. After summoning, that goes up to 6 stacks already. Insane.

Playing like this in 5.5 is impossible.

You actually need to play campaign and build kujin's skills specially/only for this battle, to win it.

I am not a fan of 5.5 in the first place, tbf (and they still haven't made their last versions compatible with the campaign, let alone balanced for the campaign).
It was made by multiplayer players for multiplayer players, it nerfs all the fun out of the game for the sake of pvp balance™.
I tried playing it but when Agrael didn't even have that racial demon summoning skill at the start of his first scenario, I noped out of it.

This fight in unwinnable if you don't pick certain skills for Kujin during her campaign. Poor game design imo. You have to replay the whole campaign from the beginning if you didn't pick the right skills.

Yeah, that's indeed a poorly balanced fight (random ai that has a huge impact & catapult being essential).
Plus most, if not all, players just don't expect a secondary hero from orc campaign to be presented with such a challenge in the end.

@@Leonion6 Sure thing, I have improved Gotai to 39 attack for nothing. They supposed to attack the inferno castle together, why does Gotai just watching how Kujin and her army is defeated? Why on the earth is he even there at all?
