You buy two of the same models. Trash one using paint stripper and burying it in wet sand, and then you clean it up and replace the broken parts with new parts from the good model. Then you can pretend you restored it.
Yeah that fake text interaction at the end ruined the whole video that I was already a bit suspicious of. Parts going in that look nothing like the original, as if brand new from a kit. Im guessing he may have bought two kits and ruined one to fake a restoration. How did he fix the windscreen surround that he snapped in half in the disassembly?
This video should be on the Darwin Awards for restoration videos. Where do I begin to pick this apart? Let's just stick to the basics, number one you don't paint a British racing car fire engine resale red. The list could go on and on but I don't believe I have enough room in the comments to pick this video apart properly.
That was the car's color when he took it out of the box. Also, I would have liked to have seen what was necessary for him to do to get it to the "before" version of the car before it was "restored".
Very ingenious use of a tea strainer and a torch. However I’m always torn on the restoration, because it now looks like a car that was recently made. It’s a great improvement from where it was until the final result, but its probably lost its value as a collectible.
I would assume this is more like a 2000 mexican peso job (~ 100 USD) or taiwan dollar (~ 60 USD), regarding that the little mirror on the right fender was mounted the wrong way and the paint job isn't by far that glossy as it would need to be. Did anyone read the conversation on his cellphone? This kind of "articulation" is clearly AI imo. "Thanks for explaining that. It's clear how contemporary factors influence the value of items." Common... Really? Sounds like ChatGPT for me.
Wow she looks gorgeous, my dad worked on one of those with his boss and co-workers they took pictures of the work they did to it I got a chance to see the pictures
But the plastic parts of chassis and motor interior looks brandnew... produced in last 10 years!!! It's all very fine molded!!! May it completly be aged??? Otherwise well done!!! 👍👍
$2000 ? It’s at best a Bburago or maisto. Check CMC, you’ll see what you get for $600. Also, remind me how many mile it has ? Because jeez the tires… also the drama for the cleaning solution… some warm water and dish soap would work like a charm… anyhow….
The bright yellow seats have a decided plastic appearance. A more decent color of the interior parts would grade up the model considerably. Unfortunately you don't mention the scale, but even if it's a big model I don't think that it's worth 100,000 bucks! But there are lots of crazy people who are willing to pay this price...
Beautiful detail work. I'm curious: why paint a Jaguar Ferrari Red instead of British Racing Green? National colors mattered on the track and Jaguars were iconic British racers.
Must have had a parts car that was better than the one he worked on- a new wheel, knock-on wheel nuts, tyres, plus a windscreen frame appeared from somewhere! The sidelights look too high. The radiator is definitely not the one that came of the car, and its stoneguard is not the woven mesh he was shown cutting up. Agree with the comment about the colour- it would be like painting a Ferrari green! Front wheels could do with a bit of positive, not negative camber. Would have been fun to see the parts car- not an honest video.
Someone, please make it make sense. Y is everyone doing red restorations, damn near on every channel? Can y'all please come up with other colors. This is getting really boring / annoning. Y'all really need to switch up. Just saying
I don't understand why it says restoration when what it really does is install a new one. The first car is in terrible condition, with damaged parts, and all the ones he takes out are brand new.
good work!
our local antiques market Buragos are about £15 each in the box lol
Where do you get the small parts that you can't make. Like the new tires?
Indiana, USA

€ 2000 for this? Are you out of your freaking mind?
i think he missed out the decimal point $20.00

@@everett86 Don't you just hate this whole "look as if" trend? Why must everything be fake these days? I blame reality TV.
@@everett86 You're 100% right about what happened.
Did I miss the part where the rims and tires are restored??
No, he had a parts car for that.
The two things mounted on the wings are side lights

Many British racing cars were painted red. By the factory. Very bright red. Try Google.......
Buen trabajo

Awesome job, but I think that the two things you mount at the front of the car are ment to be mirrors and are facing the wrong way
I agree with you.
And, neither is worth $2000.00 either.
You are right, they face the wrong way haha, but great restore tho ;)
They are hooters/horns- look closely.
@@PhilipSiddall I see ok thx for the reply
Beautiful but I would have painted her British rasing green.
It would look WAAAAAY better in British racing green.
iot is not italian dont paint it red
Fantastique

8 ad breaks... for a 25 min video.
This will be the first and last video of yours I watch. Ridiculous.
Gosto de orquestra muito bom
I trying to figure out what his motivation is...like why? 😁✌️
where can i buy the paint on rust that these restorers all use 😎
Should have kept it yellow
Nice Job.
Probably spent nearly as much time on the phoney ageing as the “restoration “ 😂

How awesome, such a great work 👏👏

the original green was in good shape, why change it
The plastic parts restored too well. Leads me to thinking if it was that old or damaged to start with.
Nice looking ride !!
Thank you for not blasting HOMO music all they way through the video. I love the resto nice job

Very nice restoration but could have done without all the dramatics.
I'm trying to accept that fact that I will probably never see Greg again...
I'm used to being Abandoned!

Because it wasn't only available in one colour?
Nice restoration
Thanks!

I'm not a fan of that red on a Jaguar restoration. British Racing Green would have been my choice, but beautiful work nonetheless.

Leaving that super Like, directly from Minas Gerais-Brazil. Congratulations on your work, keep it up. Hugs and come have a coffee with us in Brazil.
Would you not just buy a new Burago for $50 and have it finished in a couple of hours.
He probably did for the bits.
I think at $2000 younare under selling it! 😂😂😂😂

$2000 😂
Who will give you 2000?...Rubel?

Mostly plastic… can’t be that old.
eh.... $2,000? pesos?
Come on....He brushed on paint remover and let it sit out side for a week just to do a video.
I sometimes do, begin to wonder how far this old model roadster dates back to? 📅 📆 📅 🤔
