So sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I find that these videos bring me happiness as well. The girls always make me laugh and smile. Best wishes and I hope that things get better for you! Glad that you are here with us and hope to see you next week during live chat!!!
Love these birds!! It’s so cool to to watch them, it’s definitely a lot of care required. Not just anyone can have these birds as pets (companions) 😊 Great job Tori and Dalton ☺️🦜🦜🦜
@PotatoFaceMakeup, I didn't know that people WEREN'T using ringtones. Everyone I know "still" uses them. Zedge is a very popular app in our circle of friends and family.😯😲😳🤯
You both are amazing owners to Apollo. Your dedication is so incredible. You should have your own training school for birds and to teach others as you both are such good trainers!!!!
Some Birds are just shy. And only like to bath in private. 😁 My birds get sprayed a little each week. After this they will bath. Do they like the spray hell NO. My 3 are just like naughty little children 😁 Apollo demeanor changes towards the female 🤣🤣
Speaking as a speech-language pathologist, first communication is usually functional: commands/requests (more!, up [meaning, e.g.,: “pick me up”…), protests (no!), and the nouns that go with them (snack! [“earn a snack” might be one conceptual chunk to Apollo, unless you think he understands the concept of “earn.”]) more pistachios! No bath!). Then verbs (Doggy run! Pour water). Modifiers, like adjectives, adverbs, usually come after. But I bet birds’ conceptual development and orientation doesn’t exactly track humans’
Fascinating, ty. I’m a new sub here, but I’m intrigued watching them and then hearing your (I guess *technically* anthropomorphic? Idk 🤷🏻♀️ But still super interesting & valuable, IMO!) analysis…and considering that info in the context of the way these birds acquire language. It also reminds me of when my (now) 6-year-old was about 1-year-old and we began working with our county Regional Center-funded speech pathologist thru their ‘early intervention’ program to accelerate the development of his speech, because I began to notice that he was quite behind where his older brother had been at that age/standard appropriate milestones for verbal progress. (Ps. Thanks to those efforts and our fantastic service providers: @ 6-years-old now, he is long-since caught up/surpassed on relevant goals, as of *many* years ago.) Anyway, I find it very interesting to consider your input here, in conjunction w that experience, and in the context of these 3 birds learning human speech.😊🐦🦜 thx again to all.👍🏼🙏🏼
My guess on why Apollo gets bug and plant mixed up is because the both taste very nature like. They also are sometimes still like a dead bug or plants and sometimes move like a live worm or a leaf that falls and folds over.
Apollo could have cut his toe when he grabbed the aluminum can into the opened area that is sharp. I saw part of his feet went into that opening. Poor birdie.
Yeah I noticed his cut. You can see it at 14:51 too. I would hope those kinds of cuts heal quickly for them, but yeah, not a fan of empty aluminum cans at all!
Cosmo calls their cat quite often sometimes she'll say " Sable !! Sable !! shhhshut up ! Lol and there's also Indian ring neck parrots that'll say the name of their mate such as Beaker and Tinker bell beaker says " tinky bale , what she do ?" There's so many that different types of parrots that learn names of others that their around often , to many to list ❤😊
I have had many different species of parrots. Some bathed as soon as I said oooo warm water, and she would jump in. Right now I have one green cheek who bathes daily. The other one about once a week. I am trying to get Leonardo to do the cart, bowl, skateboard, and many other things. He is the biggest chicken but best talker I have ever had.
How about a clear Pyrex glass pie bowl which is shallow but not as scary as the grey stone? Just a suggestion. Will Apollo learn to request stuff like ring the bell?
I wonder if you put a very sturdy shelf on the wall and made Apollo bathing area a little more private. Something just for him perhaps he would work his self around to getting in it. Just a thought, love your birds!
Why not teach him both? You are excellent teachers and he is a very smart bird. If you don’t mind the time involved, teaching him “It’s also called fabric”, or both people play-act with constant repetition asking each other for ‘that fabric over there’. Other person responds “This cloth here? This fabric?” You get my gist, of course. Your patience, training and brilliance are wonderful. I just wondered if he’d pick whichever of the 2 was his preference or easier to say. ( Retired Sp. Ed. Early Childhood teacher )
wild to see the "behind the scenes" ! do the two "girls" ever talk? i wonder what Apollo thinks about the thing that is what it's made of - a rock made of rock, a cork made of cork - I'm not sure what I think of it myself!
My bird REFUSES to use a birdbath or bowl for his bath. Stinker that he is, Corona LOVES jumping in & out of his WATER dish (he barely fits in), instead.
I love pistachio's as well, their my most favorite nuts. Lots of kisses and hugs towards the girls and Apollo. I'm an animal lover. if I could , I would give kisses and hugs to the whole inter animal kingdom.
I think Marsha and Jeff put Einstein in the shower for his baths. I’m not positive but I think they have a setup for him? I’ve watched him for years and I do know he’s not afraid of water at all. You might ask? Your Apollo is incredibly beautiful and patient! ❤
That's an interesting thought. I think bird tricks also takes their birds into the bathroom during their own human showers sometimes to get them curious about the water. I don't know if that's right for everyone (😂), and different birds might respond differently, but it's something I might try. Just let them hang out in the bathroom while the shower's on. Maybe steam it up a bit in there, as long as the water vapor isn't dangerous for them. I am NOT knowledgeable about this lol
China makes our graphite pencils, regular pencils and Carpenter's pencils and I have read several articles now that have proven that China is STILL using lead in their paint. I guess I would consider finding an alternative wood without paint or any possible graphite which can cause gastrointestinal irritation. Just a caution, I can see you treat your birds very well, it's just sometimes things can get missed. I Love your birds, you've taught Apollo amazing well. He enunciates beautifully which shows that you do also when teaching him. Great job.
Have you considered seeing if Apollo can differentiate between two groups of items of certain amounts - like a group of five or six as opposed to s smaller group of two for three?
When he IDs Warrio, sometimes I think I hear a tone in his voice like, ‘Is he stupid? I’ve told him five times already just today who that is! Is he having memory problems??
How about trying to teach him to sing, the bird is the word. I guess you could Play the song daily for a week. Then see if he sings it😊 if not sing it to him. Ask him if he's heard the word. And hope he starts to sing it.
Why is there nothing to go with fire when Apollo says the word fire? I mean it doesn't have to be real of course but at least a picture 😊 also please and thank you would be good for him to learn.😊❤🇺🇸
He also might just be nervous about the bird bath. Dalton and Tori are very good about not forcing him to do anything he doesn't want to do, but greys can get a bit nervous when there's any new thing in the room, especially if it's associated with a bath which is a big new activity, and birds might sometimes have a natural healthy fear of water.
weird how when we introduced our parrot to his deep dog bowl, he immediately went into it to go swimming. which he automatically does whenever we pour water into it. but he has to see us drinking the water from a bottle before we pour it into his bathtub. otherwise he is suspicious of the water. but he will eat nuts or berries if he sees us eating them first. i should mention that he is not big on new things in his domain. especially paper bags or cardboard in general.
from what i observed from your videos Apollo has a context of a denominator when it comes to bug and paper and plant. Plant and paper are obviously similar in that they taste like cellulose, hence plant leaf is paper leaf. I'm guessing he's also associating a bug in the same way, smell or taste or just habitat. i don't think it's linguistic because he's able to accomplish much harder things in that matter.
I've been having rough emotional issues recently, and these videos are really soothing for me. Love the birdies!
So sorry to hear that you are having a rough time. I find that these videos bring me happiness as well. The girls always make me laugh and smile. Best wishes and I hope that things get better for you! Glad that you are here with us and hope to see you next week during live chat!!!
I hope that your issues turn into triumphs. God be with you
Busy busy girls, so adorable 😂
Love these birds!! It’s so cool to to watch them, it’s definitely a lot of care required. Not just anyone can have these birds as pets (companions) 😊 Great job Tori and Dalton ☺️🦜🦜🦜
I love your channel! So positive and entertaining. Your birds are magnificent creatures, and you take such good care of them! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing! What a smart bunch of babies you have.
I have various Apollo noises as ringtones (yes, I still use ringtones) and it makes everyone jump haha
@PotatoFaceMakeup, I didn't know that people WEREN'T using ringtones. Everyone I know "still" uses them. Zedge is a very popular app in our circle of friends and family.😯😲😳🤯
What lovely names these three beautiful birds have. Apollo speaks so clearly I love them all. They have a great busy life you look after them so well.
Hi there all the birds really cute.l enjoy watching the video.thank U both.tc.
You both are amazing owners to Apollo. Your dedication is so incredible. You should have your own training school for birds and to teach others as you both are such good trainers!!!!
Apollo always looks so awake and aware, like he is taking in everything like a sponge
I love your Big Bird , Apollo!!❤
Am glad he is back. . . Missed for a few weeks. . .
I love when Tori plays with the birds lol.
One thing I notice is each time you say “want a snack” he seems to nod his head 😂🦜
Doesn't 'seem to', he's anwering the question with a 'yes' wich nodding is.
This is what the world needs during all this turmoil in the world , your birds put a a smile on my face and made me feel happy🥰
The girls are adorable and Apollo is sooo smart. Love them❤
I could watch the two girl birds play all day
Some Birds are just shy. And only like to bath in private. 😁 My birds get sprayed a little each week. After this they will bath. Do they like the spray hell NO. My 3 are just like naughty little children 😁 Apollo demeanor changes towards the female 🤣🤣
Apollo is more interesting to listen to than half the people I know. 😂😂
He so Beautiful.
I believe there the smartest .
1st time I seen u
Grate job. 😊
"If we have to sacrifice a GoPro to get Apollo to take a bath, so be it." 🤣
😭 I have missed the live . 💖
Will he take a shower?
We love your feathered babies! Such a pleasure to follow!
When my youngsters were younger we had cockatiels and parakeets. Birds are so much fun
What happened to them?
I love Apollo!! I miss my African Grey. Your Caiques are adorable!
Bugs are usually seen on plants and he looks outside often so he may see that and that could be why he puts bugs with plants ❤😊

thx again to all.👍🏼🙏🏼
Everything looks so nice and pretty ..and the birds happy and healthy❤and Apollo did a great achievement❤❤❤
could it be because he just doesn't like to bath 😂🙈 bless you clever boy
My guess on why Apollo gets bug and plant mixed up is because the both taste very nature like. They also are sometimes still like a dead bug or plants and sometimes move like a live worm or a leaf that falls and folds over.
yeah it seems like the leaf kind of shudders and moves when their hands aren’t still so he thinks that it moves like a bug
Oh, I think he hurt his foot. The right one. When he hooked the can.
I thought that too
Apollo could have cut his toe when he grabbed the aluminum can into the opened area that is sharp. I saw part of his feet went into that opening. Poor birdie.
yeah ouch. you can see it at 46:38 I think.
He did cut his toe on the can
You can see him lick his wound directly afterward. And then he gets a question wrong multiple times, likely because he's distracted by pain.
Yeah I noticed his cut. You can see it at 14:51 too. I would hope those kinds of cuts heal quickly for them, but yeah, not a fan of empty aluminum cans at all!
I am very glad you guys caught it when we did and treated the cut. I'm gonna find out why capsaicin helps for bird cuts!
I love the two little birbs. The way they walk around is too funny. I also love how Apollo can tell them apart.
Very Smart Apollo🦜
My Birds make more dirt than my cat and my 2 dogs together..Birds make a lot of joy but a lot dirt too

48:25 that would be a funny loading screen indeed😂
How about a clear Pyrex glass pie bowl which is shallow but not as scary as the grey stone? Just a suggestion. Will Apollo learn to request stuff like ring the bell?
Mine slip and slides in glass bowls lol
We have one and the Caiques regularly bathe in it. Apollo wouldn’t use it though, so we got something more appropriate for his size.
I figured he was ok with the glass jars. Maybe a Pyrex lasagna size? Keep up the great work…it’s amazing.
Oooyyyy çok tatlılar ❤ karnındaki o çizgi var ya 😊❤ The line on his fluffy belly, so lovely ❤
15:09 he knew he was gonna get a pastasshh 😂❤
I Love ❤️ the Birds and iLove How Apollo does Schrock😂
I wonder if you put a very sturdy shelf on the wall and made Apollo bathing area a little more private. Something just for him perhaps he would work his self around to getting in it. Just a thought, love your birds!
Would "fabric" maybe be an easier work than "cloth" for Apollo? Since the sounds are a little closer to what he already knows?
Yes, however it is too late to switch now. He will definitely be able to get to “cloff” which we will accept if he can’t get the “oth”
@@ApolloandFrens Oh! Makes sense😊

Need more patrons so they can buy a mansion and apollo can have a wife
My blue and gold macaw takes a bath in the bathtub with the shower hose.
My bird REFUSES to use a birdbath or bowl for his bath. Stinker that he is, Corona LOVES jumping in & out of his WATER dish (he barely fits in), instead.
Dalton is usually so serious and I find it charming when he gets tickled😂
I Love Apollo and the girls ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I love pistachio's as well, their my most favorite nuts. Lots of kisses and hugs towards the girls and Apollo. I'm an animal lover. if I could , I would give kisses and hugs to the whole inter animal kingdom.
Omg apollos little noise he made when he hopped onto Toris head 1:28:32 was so stinkin cute!!!!
I would think they’d LOVE Tori’s hair
Tell Apollo good job at answer questions 👍🏽
I new that the African Grey was a remarkable talker, but I had no idea they could actually conceptualize... Remarkable.
I think Marsha and Jeff put Einstein in the shower for his baths. I’m not positive but I think they have a setup for him? I’ve watched him for years and I do know he’s not afraid of water at all. You might ask? Your Apollo is incredibly beautiful and patient! ❤
Have you tried those continuous spray bottles for baths like the ones bird tricks carries?
That's an interesting thought. I think bird tricks also takes their birds into the bathroom during their own human showers sometimes to get them curious about the water. I don't know if that's right for everyone (😂), and different birds might respond differently, but it's something I might try. Just let them hang out in the bathroom while the shower's on. I love caiques.
Question, what kind of birds are the ones at the beginning of your video with the orange head and the yellow and the green and the white
It’s funny Apollo has tantrums when Dalton is gone because that’s also how my beagle expresses he’s upset if I’m gone.
3:32 Apollo IS fire though

Lookout Apolllo, that's really a shrock bowl!
We brought our Grey in the shower. He loved it.
Maybe if yall got him a giant dog bowl he might also like bathing in it because it’s similar to his water dish 😂? Maybe, maybe not
What are Soleil & Ophelia chewing on in the beginning of this video?
looks like broken pencils
Pencils that weren't broken before the girls got them?
Regards from a Tom: )
Tory: maybe put some felt pads beneath the stone bowl...
Have you considered seeing if Apollo can differentiate between two groups of items of certain amounts - like a group of five or six as opposed to s smaller group of two for three?
Apollo's humans are super dorks.
Apollo did hurt his toes. He immediately started licking 😢
He cut his toe on the can, he started licking his toe right after going wild with the can lol.
What are the sticks or wooden toys the caiques are playing with? Or is it a treat?❤❤
😂 @ Tori- I’m jacked!!
How’s Apollo ‘s counting coming along? 41:10
We love Apollo!!
Love Apollo
Do you use special air purifiers for their dust? You said they smell good but isn't it dangerous to breathe their dust?
When he IDs Warrio, sometimes I think I hear a tone in his voice like, ‘Is he stupid? I’ve told him five times already just today who that is! Is he having memory problems??
In the description box of this video, it says that Ophelia may have mild brain damage.
What happened to her?
It's most likely hyperbole.
😮😮😮They believe it happened during incubation period. She is behind Soleil in Caique milestones. She also has issues with her nailbeds
the vet told them it most likely happened during the incubation period and it's a common occurrence @@theresarandall7448
Likely poor incubation conditions in the 1-2 weeks after hatching, such as improper humidity or temperature levels.
my bird used to
‘mumble’ to himself - I could catch an understandable word every so often:. Does Apollo ever do. that or similar?
Do you sell t-shirts like your wearing?
Yes- it’s on their website in their bio! I got one for my kid and she loves it
Awww❤❤
About how long does it take for Apollo and other birds to not be scared of new items?
How do you tell Soleil and Ophelia apart?
That's what I want to know too!
@@agemothThey look so similar!
@@LuckyPigeon1111 they may even be twins! I read in the comments somewhere that one of them has slight brain damage .
Let me know if you are interested in knowing how I potty trained my birds!
I use 100% Pure Lanolin on my birds feet and it's good.
min 59: "Wait a sec" 😂
Did I hear that correctly,
Appollo?
0:35 "Could you share with your sister?" Step mom talked to 2 daughters about step brother
Do they like to bath themselves ?
How about trying to teach him to sing, the bird is the word. I guess you could Play the song daily for a week. Then see if he sings it😊 if not sing it to him. Ask him if he's heard the word. And hope he starts to sing it.
I thought the little Caique was gonna smash her toe with those pliers that woulda hurt 😔
Why is there nothing to go with fire when Apollo says the word fire? I mean it doesn't have to be real of course but at least a picture 😊 also please and thank you would be good for him to learn.😊❤🇺🇸
Why is Apollo often quivering in this video? Also, why is he constantly pulling his right foot into his chest?

In order: He's scared of the new bird bath, and he cut himself on a soda can at the beginning of the video.
Have you though about using a abacus for Apollo to learn math
He would definitely snap the beads though, lol.
Bellevideohenri😂😂
Have you considered alternatives to "cloth", like 'fabric'? Might easier to say.
