Thorfinn wasn't the one raiding Einars village. We saw the second burning of the village which was not that long ago. The first burning was said to have been done by the King of England not Danes. The scene with young Thorfinn was just him thinking about doing the same thing. Also Einars village was In the north of England while Askeladds crew moved mostly In the south atleast before Canute.
I think that memory of Thorfinn is from the first time he saw Askeladd's crew burn down a village
@@Ash_Wen-li Yeah you're right. I think its the one In episode 5.
I really like the little detail of Olmar noticing Fox and Badger crushing the wheat under their feet, he's paying attention.
Yeah, shows how some of his father's teachings have stuck with him, even if he's rebellious towards him. And at least pretends to ignore what Ketil says to him.
Einar and Thorfinn are around the same age so the village that Thorfinn saw when he was a kid couldnt have been Einars (the first time it was the English).
However Thorfinn did raid alot of villages when he was with Askeladd...
I don't think there's any link between the two villages, it's just Thorfinn reminiscing about the first pillaging he saw because Einar talks about them being savages. He could have been part of a raid because he was with the danes, but it's left open whether or not he ever got close to Einar, he certainly doesn't remember it if it's the case
9:45 In the manga Einar actaully says " I think I like it here " after this scene. They turn Einar's comedic tone down a shade, sometimes I like it sometimes I don't, overall I think he keeps a majority of the same tone.
So Einar was enslaved in Northern England, and taken to Denmark where he was sold to Ketil.
Ketil's farm is located in southern Denmark (Southern Jutland) so they're in Denmark right now.
This is roughly 1 year after the end of S1, and Thorfinn would be around 18-19.
And yeah like people have mentioned, Thorfinn wasn't part of the Viking raid on Einar's village. There were 2 raids, the first one by the English, and the second by the Vikings, which was the one that resulted in Einar's enslavement.
Bro i am just vibing with these reactions. Can't wait for you to cover Eighty Six.
Swanii never misses🔥💪💪
Thorfinn nor Askeladd and his crew were a part of Einar's village raid, Thorfinn was just remembering that the beasts Einar talks about are the same as he was in the past, it wouldn't make sense timeline wise for him and askeladd's crew to be the ones raiding it, the flashback was just him remembering the first time he raided a village like that, this will all make more sense in the dialog over the next few episodes.
Lmao, the thumbnail.
I'm pretty sure at this point it's been 1 year since the end of Season 1, which would make him 19. Also about Thorfinn's hair, I think people's hair grows at different rates and you might just have slow growing hair or something because mine can get to the length he has in Season 2 from what it was in Season 1 in 6-ish months.
oh the theorizing. cant wait for you to watch it unfold. you are going to love it.
3:47 hit the nail on the head😎 that's exactly what it is
Olmar is undoubtedly one of my favorite characters on the show. When the girl expressed that she cares about him, Olmar paused for a moment. However, when she said round 2, he started to suspect that they were only interested in his family's wealth.
Despite his genuine concern for the wheat, Olmar becomes frustrated when forced to work, often ruining the crops. This childish aspect of his character resonates with many of us viewers.
As the show progresses, Olmar undergoes significant character development, which unfolds subtly in the background.
He’s one of my favorites as well, as well as the priest. Those characters are used beautifully to communicate a broader message
@@deeegeeekay Yes, at first, I didn't pay much attention to the priest. When he said, "Whoever made booze is the greatest or the true lord," I didn't catch it. Jesus turned water into wine.
But after his speech on love, my mind went "poof"
@@martinsantiago7900 I genuinely think the Priest rewired my brain lol
@@deeegeeekay lmao
Also with names they're just supposed to be pronounced how they're written. Since they're Norse names the Japanese pronunciation is technically wrong. A big example is you wouldn't pronounce Thors as Tors like the Japanese would. The reason for this is Japanese doesn't have the TH sound in their Language, and there are a lot more examples of that.
Just to let you know, Olmar one of the best characters of this season, what a character through this journey. Hope you enjoy the season!
