My daily trainer is the Saucony Triumph 17. I bought the Peg 36 and found it too firm for my daily runs on concrete and needed something with some more cushion. The Triumph 17 is amazing for a cushioned shoe.

I liked the cushion and the feel and just went off of recommendations from others. Just purchased the Asics novablasts based on your reviews and excited to try this week.

For a while I was obsessed with running on my fore foot which led to a multi year battle with Achilles tendinitis. After seeing a physical therapist I changed my running form to land on the mid foot and even more on the heel. Lydiard was an advocate for keeping the heel down in order to prevent too much stress or break in the running motion by landing too high on the front of the foot. I think running higher on the foot is good but I also think it’s important to be careful and not overthink it, which I know you already mentioned!

To speak to the width concerns (~7:55):
I've been wearing wide (2E) shoes since 2015. I'm a size 8.5 2E and have found almost all neutral trainers pretty true to fit across all brands (Mizuno, New Balance, Brooks, Asics), but the Peg line in "wide" is still a bit narrow relative to other 2E shoes! My first Pegasus was the 33, which I believe was labelled as a 2E shoe and fit very comparable to 2Es from other brands, but by the time the 35 model came out Nike labelled the shoes "wide" rather than 2E, and while I find they still fit well they are definitely a bit narrower than 2E offerings from other brands.

QD: I have a few daily road trainers in my rotation right now. I've been using the Vapor Street Flyknit because it has a generously cushioned react midsole and a very comfortable upper. But the big one for me right now is the Pegasus Turbo 2. It always makes me want to go fast, it has incredible impact protection for such a low profile, and it's just so damn comfy

QD: Asics Glideride. That rocker really grabbed hold of my attention while trying it in at the store and felt super nice and fatigue reducing. I love it even more as I break the shoe in more. The plate and foam gets softer and almost feels like they mould around my foot! The Black/Gold Tokyo colourway is pretty sexy too!

QD: Saucony Kinvara 11. My first Saucony and love it. I switched from Beacon V2, which I thought was a little unstable because of the upper even though I enjoyed the ride. Kinvara feels a little more cushioned but my feet don’t slide as much because of the slightly more rigid upper.

Hey Seth-always appreciate your insights on running and with reviews. I do have a different perspective when it comes to a minimum mileage count of 50 before doing a full review. While I do run around that and certainly have run over 50 miles in the Pegasus 37, I kind of know within a few different types of runs if I like a shoe or not. For me its more important that the reviewer covers the applications I plan on using the shoe as well as key updates. Thanks again for all you do!

QD: if you know me, I talk about my daily shoe all the time. The shoe I use is the Adidas sloarglide St. and I use them for all training (xc/track/ road 5ks). They're a bit heavy, and takes a while to break in, but they're SO comfortable. I have had 2 pairs of the standard Solarglides, and now I'm on my 2nd pair of the St. edition. The standard ones have both gotten huge holes in the front at 300-400+ miles, but the St. Doesn't have that issue, and my last pair took me to 660 miles(I still use them every once in a while when my other shoes are wet. I used them for a half marathon at about 645 miles), which is way more than anything I've run in before. I beat up shoes really fast. I also had a pair of Hoka Rincons last summer because of a promotion, and I REALLY liked how soft they were and they felt really springy and fast, however they had lost all cushion and return by 150 miles.

QD: I'm running daily 5-10ks in my Asics Novablast. Just got back into running after putting on 10kg in the last 2 years. Could say I'm an overweight beginner in terms of running.
I love the cushioning I get from the Novablast but the fit is a bit questionable for me. My foot (particularly the right one) shifts and settles inward in a slanted position, with toes and forefoot fitting nicely in toe box but arch to sole area rolling out and resting too far out on the inner side. This causes some imbalance and some discomfort in the arch to heel region. In my longer runs, my heel would actually hurt. I don't usually overpronate.
I would rate the Novablast a 7/10 for me.

QOD...I'm running in the Pegasus 36. I'm no brilliant runner by any stretch, but when I'm in the market for a new running shoe, I know instinctively when I first try them on, whether they are right for me. I can spend ages fitting various shoes, but the peg 36 just felt right for me within minutes of trying it on. Man, I'm a Peg 37 believer. I've got some poopy knees from so many sports. Right knee had a 10 year meniscus tear that I finally got taken care of a couple years ago but now developed arthritis. Used to run daily many years ago but have trouble now so I've been searching for shoes that might help. Tried Brooks. Was recommended the Ghost 11. Not good. Too much stiff impact while running. Tried Hoka Clifton and Bondi 7 and I thought they felt good while walking but while running they didn't quite do the job. Tried the Pegasus 37 today and I was amazed. I took a short run and felt amazing and even after my legs actually felt good and not fatigued. Didn't have any heel slipping. I read a lot of people did, maybe that's a size issue? I loved the shoe during my run and compared to the Hoka I was much faster with less effort. I'm a fan and will keep buying Nike runners from now on. Seems like they know what they're doing.

QD: Pegasus 36, great all round trainer imo, I like the firmness and find it comfortable during long runs. I did like the pegasus turbo but found the softness was always putting more strain on my tendons. The only problem I have is if I'm doing a long run on only roads then it starts to feel a bit too hard on the feet but overall think it's a great trainer and it functions perfectly well on trails during summer months.

I have a wider foot, and I haven’t had any problems with the Peg 37. I like how responsive it is for a higher cushion shoe

QD: Merrell Trail Glove 4. I chose this shoe because it is for its tread pattern that is comfortable on roads and easy trails. It is low to the ground and gives excellent feedback to what your foot is doing. Lastly it is zero drop.

QD: Just picked up the Pegasus 37 to be my daily trainer. I had been using the Zoom Fly 3 as my daily trainer (which I love) but I wanted something that I could take on gravel and could wear if my runs end with family time (normal walking in Zoom Fly 3s is super weird!)

QD: Brooks Glycerin 17 is my current daily trainer for road running. Softer landing with a pretty forgiving midsole and it’s lighter than the Brooks Ghost so can even pick it up a bit with some steady runs if you want. Great for easy/steasy/long runs.

Hi Seth, my experience with Pegs (35 & 36) is that they show their age after 300 miles. Looking forward to the 37s but I bought extra 36s during a sale and I will not be picking 37s up for a few months.
Absolutely love your reviews. Keep buttering that bread.
QoD: Pegasus line are my daily road trainers. And very happy with them. Looking forward to the upgrades for the 37.

For some reason Peg 26 was perfect as daily trainer. I since had 31, 33 and now 35 and they all have pros/cons but the 26 was a lucky strike for my feet.

QD: switched to the Pegasus trail after using the Pegasus 37. Slightly wider forefoot, feels like a roadshoe, and handles light trails which are my main training grounds. I don't mind the weight, heavier will make you feel like you're flying when putting on a tempo shoe. I also use the Inov 8 roadclaw, same goal, but makes the muscles in your feet work harder (mudh better groundfeel)

QOD: daily trainer, for years it’s been GT2000s which I was fitted for about 12 years ago. I just kept on buying the updated version. However, as my running frequency and pace has increased I’ve been looking for new options which brought me to your channel. I recently bought the Glideride which i used for for longer runs and the NB the Beacons for faster shorter runs. I tried the Novsblast too but the stack and squishyness of the midsole was too unstable for me as an over pronater.

Excited for Pegasus 37. Definitely on my list for future purchase when it drops here in Australia 🇦🇺. QD Use Pegasus 36 as daily run shoe. I do take it up to moderate tempo over middle distances up to 18-19km. I use Nike Turbo 2 for higher tempo days and up to threshold. Longer run days I am running Thursday 20-25km and Sunday long run 32-35km in trust worthy Asics Glideride. Easy day runs are in an older pair of Pegasus that are close to being retired out of rotation.

QD: I just retired a pair of ON cloudswifts that were my daily trainer. I loved the upper but the midsole was surprisingly just too hard and those cloud pods suck up rocks. I'm now alternating between Novablasts and a pair of hoka carbon Xs that I had been saving for races but since there are no races ... Both shoes make me run a little faster than I intend.

QOD: Currently the Adidas Solar Boost ST and Brooks Adrenaline GTS20. First ever pair of Adodas and liking them so far. I chop and change with every shoe, and have never found anything perfect. Due to an old foot, I tend to overpronate in my right foot only, and have quite a low arch height. Sauconu Guide 13 were close to perfect, but I wore a hole in the heel counter in the right shoe within 250kms. And then the same in the replacement pair. Never found a pair of Nikes that have even felt comfortable trying on.

I have been training in Nike Zoom fly original with the mesh upper and the fly wire, the Nike Zoom fly SP fast, the skechers go run razor three hyper.
But today I surprised myself, after watching your reviews and 3 more hours of reviews about the Asics Nova blast I went out and bought a pair of those.
I’m gonna start putting miles on them tomorrow, I did go down a half size because the upper was just not tight enough for me and it feels perfect on foot. I’ve never run in an Asics shoe before because every time I picked one up in a store it felt like a concrete block. But this one feels very different and I’m excited to try it

QD: My daily trainer is between 2 pairs of Pegasus 36s. I have owned the last 3 generations of the Pegasus, and each have lasted up to 550 miles (one of which went up to 700 miles!). The Pegasus line is the flagship of Nike Running in maintaining durability and responsiveness.

The 35 was a heavier shoe because it gave more cushion on long runs. I am enjoying the 36 because it gives way for faster workouts. It’s sleeker, lighter, and less cushion to take each step better closer to a racing shoe.

QD: running in peg 36 as my daily trainer. 330 miles into them with a good mix of easy days, tempo runs, and a few long runs (up to 16 miles). They are awesome.. I recommend pegs to anyone who asks me about running shoes, they are the best all rounders in my opinion. Love my zoom fly 3s for tempo runs, but the pegs are reassuring and comfortable like a favorite pair of jeans. Can’t wait to try the 37!
