I find the 1942 scenario to be so much less balanced and dynamic than the standard 1941 version. As the Axis I always feel like I am walking into a losing game halfway through haha
I wish you wouldn’t have shown me those new markers! I want them but already have $300 in the “round” roundels. That game was won by the Axis phenomenally quick!
I really enjoy your videos. I would like to see you play the A&A 1942 version. I don't have much time and this is the version I play most often, being smaller than the others.
I appreciate your videos, brings back good gaming memories. I had to pull out the board and refresh the starting set up in my mind. The Battle of Midway is well set up for the 1942 first turn battle. I might have missed it but your Japan turn one looked a lot like an ambush by the United States dice forces, they have a lot more hitting power and further reach it seems than I remembered. The attack against the India fleet seems to be the right move considering all the bonus income at steak,
Hey HillTop, I was wondering if you could tell me where you got your blow up boxes for each nation’s army/navy at? I don’t think you used any if them for this game but I was watching one of your older videos where you used them and haven’t been able to find online or on HBG. Thank you!
Many! The best one I have seen is to roll well. But, if you're really looking for some help, Italy needs to stay relevant, the Allies need to win the Atlantic early, the Germans have to bottle up the Russians, and Japan needs to take Calcutta. As with most of these games, the Axis need to take advantage of their superior unit counts, and a few sacrifices here and there in the early going will pay off in the long run. Conversely, the Allies need to weather the storm by getting defensive for the first 3-4 turns, but by turn 5, they should be landing in France. If not, the USSR is sunk! Have fun!
Well, if I didn't stop to film, I could probably do a game in 4 hours, or so. I could go faster if I make a game plan and stick with it, but sometimes opportunities come up that cannot be ignored, and then I have to take time to figure out what to do...
This looks so cool! I have the less complicated version of this, and it looks awesome!
It's a favourite of mine! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Favorite version of a&a so far that ive played and only the one time last year good game
Yep, it's a fave of mine, too!
I love this "small" game summaries you do. I can see how it goes in short time (I et the game took a few hours). ty!
Yeah, it sure takes a while, especially solo!

Yeah, you're not wrong on that. And, with Germany on the back foot vs USSR, it is tough to get the initiative back.
Use a bid? An Axis extra infantry/artillery or even a tank/sub added to setup with existing forces whould change things up.

Those new markers are great! Yeah, the Axis sure took control quickly. It really surprised me how badly the Russians rolled...no defense at all!
We’ll get a game in soon buddy, keep sending me these intel videos 😂
I am looking forward to it, sir!

I love playing Axis and Allies
It's a great hobby!
The Gremlins who stole Round 2 footage have been sacked.
Thank you! Those guys are the worst.
I like your flags you have; how did you make them?
Thanks! They are from HBG: www.historicalboardgaming.com/search_adv.asp?keyword=flags&sort=relevance&page=1&pageSize=24
Happy hunting!
Sadly I don't have the time off available to come up there.
Maybe next year!

What bid amount would you suggest for the Allies in the 1942 scenario?
15-21?
It really depends on the players. If they are equal, I think less than 12 is plenty. In hindsight, I should have done that here...
Any strategies for this setup?
