Hey everyone who happens to see this- here 5 years later. Here’s the pro MLG gamer meta. - Always do maximum preparedness. Max out everything you can in terms of security- GMP is easily and fastly regained. - Long range is best cause guards gain (essentially) infinite sight range so they can spot you on other platforms besides their own and trigger the alarm. - Always deploy to defend your FOB, you can use the stun grenade underbarrel on your guns which is OP as shit against players. Don’t risk running in for the fulton or wormhole though, they can get up super quick: just shoot them to death.
sleep grenade launcher is better than stun. It still instantly knocks out players if you land the shot within range of them (which is easy to do as defender) and takes much longer to wake up from.
Aaand now players can have autoteleports that works like 2-nd or 3-rd life (depends on the lvl of item), stun-teleport arm, that works in range 30 meters and invincibility shield. I didn't mentioned dark matter emitter because i think it's not so op.
Why can’t there be a mode where people can’t spam stun/sleep launchers / weird bubble shields / cheap spam tactics. And keep it grounded… like good old tactical espionage. Sniper battles. Shootouts. Sneak around flanks.. etc. traps. Counter traps. :( …… Instead it feels like a cracked out roided out anime battle of two lightning gods sprinting around each other launching gasses and stuns at each other….
I've just unlocked FOB system like 4 hours ago. I invaded a couple of people blindly, but successfully. Then started watching videos; this is, by far, the best I've seen about FOB system. Amazing indeed. Thank you. But damn, this isn't just a game anymore... This takes serious dedication. I don't really think I can enjoy it fully just because of the sheer amount of time it needs to really build a great FOB base.
+Privacy Required Yeah, if you want to get serious about invading, it takes some intense dedication; but since I've made this video and been doing what I say in the video, I haven't been successfully invaded since. I plan on making an infiltration guide, but I need more time with it before I feel comfortable with my knowledge in invading. I don't want to rush a video and mislead people. I do plan on making more, but I'm only a week away from an Associate's Degree in Network Engineering; so it's hard to find the time to record and edit. GeraldJoseph Donttrip Lol, and yeah; that's exactly the difference. You get more heroism and GMP for taking out an attacker while defending using Nonlethal tactics. That being said you can have Lethal guards and When you yourself defend your base, you can chose non lethal weapons. That's what I've been doing. This week is finals for me at school, but I'm currently working on a guide for getting GMP, one for picking a base to infiltrate, and a guide for infiltrating.
I love the amount of care and time you put into this. Wouldn't mind seeing more trivia and helpful information on any more videos that you'd like to cover, want to watch more of your professionally made videos.
I'm extremely impressed how well put together and presented this was. It's almost too Powerpointy ha but I enjoyed it. Well done sir. I learned a good deal.
I really hope more players come back to MGSV. There is like nobody on the FOBs anymore. Its almost free range if you can survive their defenses, cause the player rarely retaliates or joins the base to fight you.

Very good video on FOB's. I have found on the PS3 that if you don't start a training mission on your FOB then the whole FOB system will not start online. So you can use the FOB base development to help the main offline story but you will not get attacked.
The nuke system is an interesting and brilliant addition. Using nuclear deterrence just as an option to players even though is favorable use is cancelled by someone possibly retaliating with a nuke; resulting in 2 completely destroyed FOBs left in ash.

***** So it's not totally useless then. It only prevents people with Heroism lower than 200,000 from invading, so people who haven't beaten the story yet or just kill; but at least you can't lose all of your progress with it.

The single player benefits are that you can get more staff. There is no way to get every single item in the game with just a maxed-out mother base. Infact, I've been fultoning so many people, I need to add more platforms because they're all in the waiting room.

+R4zE One thing that is not true that you said is the security costs. That's the sum total of the costs for weapons, security devices, etc. In order to need to pay that total, the intruder needs to destroy EVERYTHING.

The mines are a roadblock, but they are not one-hit kill material, and the sleep-gas mines don't make any noise. IR devices are only there to slow down the invader, UAVs are the birds in the sky, these should be your first priority. And then there's cameras and anti-theft devices. The only time the enemy will be alerted to your presence when destroying one of these is when the drone's explode (which happens whenever they crash into anything but the water below) and the cameras.

I know that it gives the character like +20% health or DMG resistance when you deploy as them. so would it do the same when that character is on your security team? Anyone have any idea about that?

mastaginge 88 Even though the stuff presented in Online Information says that the Anti-Reflex function has been added, it's nowhere to be seen. And REAL gun-equipped cameras have not yet been added. I suspect they'll be added on the 10th.
I have a grade 5 shotgun and riot suit, and Ive set close range in the settings, but I can only select grade 4. Grade 5 is grayed out. And yes the both the shotty and the riot suit have green text am i missing something?

He went lethal and loud so he was mad. He wanted blood and killed 5 of my best guys. So i now have my guards as level B and lethal set ups. I was able to fight back but he took me out 4 times using a 50 cal, rockets and a shotgun. I was only able to take him when he arrived at my spawn point, he wasnt expecting me to get there so i used CQC to take him out and extract him. Not gonna lie, it pissed me off for how vicious he was. My men...so many injured men. It wont happen again. Next time...they die.
how do you keep your members leveling up I get to a certain point and it will just stop either it will go up then it will go down not understanding why it's doing this
i have 4 fobs 3 are completed and the 4th is all most done and i cant get more then 36 guards on the fist 3 fobs. on the platform 1-3 i have 8 guards and the 4th has only 12 guards, many other people have 17 on the first 3 decks and 24 on the 4th and they are lower leveled? i dont understand plz help lol
I was watching this and right after, my base was getting attacked. Successfully defended my base all the 3 times I've been attacked. For some reason I got disconnected towards the end.

Does anyone know if you can fulton extract your own supplies in a defense to avoid a rival stealing them? I just had the idea right now but i cant test it at the moment. Also I have never heard or seen anything about actually using nukes to destroy rival FOBs, i steal nukes all the time and i have never had my FOB destroyed or been given an option to destroy another player's FOB
I got a question. I've been doing FOB for awhile now got my defenses to lvl 23 i know it's meh but anyway, how do i get more ir lasers and drones etc etc? I seen a E rank player have 25 drones and 30 IR fences on a single command platform. How the hell is that possible?
Andrian Setiadi Yeah, depending on the range you choose you'll want to upgrade that weapon. Mid-range is the best though, using the AM MRS 4R Assault Rifle and the ALM 48 LMG with Lethal is your best bet for general defense.
This was a well put together video, very helpful. My only critic is to maybe speak a little louder, it was uncomfortable because it sounded like you were almost whispering through most of the video which made it difficult to understand what you were saying. +MrOMGitsabear Its probably higher because I have more command/combat platforms in my Motherbase/FOB. The command platforms increase the staff for all of your teams by like 5, while the combat platform will increase by a higher amount; something like 15 extra staff space for the combat unit and security team.
THANKS MAN!!!!! I was really looking for a video like this. I'm not fully or even barely entering FOB matches, but i needed the FOB to increase the level of my bases. I didnt want to spoil my game, cause the FOB system, as you said, wasnt explained by the developers just as well as you did. And as im new i feared i would get raped by a fucking troll. I can only get a max of 28 guards on 3/4 platforms yet some people have 50+. My security team is level 56 and I've checked all the basic / advanced settings... What do I need to do???
+LFC ROB I'm not entirely sure I have an answer to this one yet. I know I have at least like 35 guards on my platforms but I mostly only have 2-3 decks and about the same level of Security Team.
+LFC ROB When you look at someone else's FOB when invading them (I'm not sure about supporters and whatnot) The guard decoys get added the number of guards when you look at the numbers. I know this for sure because I infiltrated some guy's base that said he had 8 guards but when I went in he had no one (goes without sating that was a easy win) So while it may say they have 50+ guards, most likely a chunk of them are decoys as well.
+Aiden Howe Yes, all kills still lower your overall heroism and add to your demon points. You'll usually hear an audio tone when you gain demon points, you'll especially hear it if you slit someones throat in a hold.
someone is invading my FOB but I don't know how to go to my base, it says something like important or special mission but I can't find it anywhere pls help where do I go to defend my fob? I don't find it on my i-droid

thanks man. this helps a lot even more. I am a decent infiltrator and defender, but can't stand rush infiltrators. they get in and out too fast.
i have 4 fobs 3 are completed and the 4th is all most done and i cant get more then 36 guards on the fist 3 fobs. on the platform 1-3 i have 8 guards and the 4th has only 12 guards, many other people have 17 on the first 3 decks and 24 on the 4th and they are lower leveled? i dont understand plz help lol
I was watching this and right after, my base was getting attacked. Successfully defended my base all the 3 times I've been attacked. For some reason I got disconnected towards the end.

Does anyone know if you can fulton extract your own supplies in a defense to avoid a rival stealing them? I just had the idea right now but i cant test it at the moment. Also I have never heard or seen anything about actually using nukes to destroy rival FOBs, i steal nukes all the time and i have never had my FOB destroyed or been given an option to destroy another player's FOB

I got a question. I've been doing FOB for awhile now got my defenses to lvl 23 i know it's meh but anyway, how do i get more ir lasers and drones etc etc? I seen a E rank player have 25 drones and 30 IR fences on a single command platform. How the hell is that possible?
sometimes i got some points in pf grade and i can trade them, is that somehow connected with fobs?
In fob relationships is it a way to search for specific players or is it random only??

+Andrian Setiadi It's because you either haven't developed at least a level 3 Battle Dress or green text weapon that the Staff can use.

Andrian Setiadi Yeah, depending on the range you choose you'll want to upgrade that weapon. Mid-range is the best though, using the AM MRS 4R Assault Rifle and the ALM 48 LMG with Lethal is your best bet for general defense.

MB Coins are super easy to get now. I was able to buy 2 FOB playforms by saving up my coins over time.
how do you get increase the maximum soldier limit for your security unit? Yours is 150, but mine is only 125.
+MrOMGitsabear Its probably higher because I have more command/combat platforms in my Motherbase/FOB. The command platforms increase the staff for all of your teams by like 5, while the combat platform will increase by a higher amount; something like 15 extra staff space for the combat unit and security team.

I was really looking for a video like this. I'm not fully or even barely entering FOB matches, but i needed the FOB to increase the level of my bases. I didnt want to spoil my game, cause the FOB system, as you said, wasnt explained by the developers just as well as you did. And as im new i feared i would get raped by a fucking troll. I can only get a max of 28 guards on 3/4 platforms yet some people have 50+. My security team is level 56 and I've checked all the basic / advanced settings... What do I need to do???
+LFC ROB I'm not entirely sure I have an answer to this one yet. I know I have at least like 35 guards on my platforms but I mostly only have 2-3 decks and about the same level of Security Team.
+LFC ROB When you look at someone else's FOB when invading them (I'm not sure about supporters and whatnot) The guard decoys get added the number of guards when you look at the numbers. I know this for sure because I infiltrated some guy's base that said he had 8 guards but when I went in he had no one (goes without sating that was a easy win)
So while it may say they have 50+ guards, most likely a chunk of them are decoys as well.

+Aiden Howe Yes, all kills still lower your overall heroism and add to your demon points. You'll usually hear an audio tone when you gain demon points, you'll especially hear it if you slit someones throat in a hold.
