he Hororata Highland Games is a Scottish Festival with a Kiwi twist! Held annually early November.
In 2011 a resilient community came up with an idea to raise spirits (including the odd dram) after the devastating Canterbury earthquakes - the Hororata Highland Games was born.
The Hororata Highland Games attract 10,000 people annually and see 500 competitors in Scottish events including; caber tossing, highland dancing and pipe band competitions. All surrounded by a rich tapestry of culture and tastings.
