We just spent two weeks at the OBX and loved it! We based out of the campground at Oregon Inlet - lots to see! Our friends got stuck on Ocracoke while Hurricane/TS Nicole passed - the ferries weren’t running…
Yess... i really understand why you can`t get enough of this place. Great Vlog. Thank you for sharing... Like 50 + full view. Have an awesome weekend....
I can't believe I've been to NC over 5 times in my life and never to the Outer Banks. Hopefully I get there one day because it is so beautiful! Great video, thanks for sharing
I grew up on the outer banks, this video is very nostalgic and spot on, except the Wright brothers, they flew in Kill Devil Hills, not Nags head. They also found what they believe to be the remains of ‘the lost colony’ down near Morehead City. Great video!
I love the outer banks. Haven’t been there for awhile. No way I’m stopping at that place with hears and Alligators. All the different light house is so pretty. That is one of our new things we like to stop by. What a pretty island you guys went to. Water is so beautiful. Great vlog guys!!! Can’t go wrong with ice cream.
Us too! Did you guys make a vlog when you went and visited? Yeah maybe bypass all of the alligators and bears if you have your kids with you 😬 thanks so much for watching!!!
Extravellganza I wish I did. I have coined the term “Vlogger’s Remourse” (Patent Pending) 🤣🤣🤣. It’s been probably been 15 years. I use to record and edit prior to TH-cam but for some reason I didn’t record for that trip. Will have to bring hack the family when things go back to normal.
If you guys go back, you should camp at Frisco Woods Campground. It's right on the sound about half a mile from the Native American Museum. That place is awesome to stay at.
What a great experience! The sand dune area looked awesome. I loved seeing all of the active options in the area. I also enjoyed the facts - can't believe that area has so many ship wrecks!

Hey you two! :) I love the story of Roanoke Island. I think it's fascinating. LOL.. oh the hot sand shuffle. I know that shuffle all too well! LOL. I love that there is a hang gliding school here... how cool! Wow! I can't believe they moved that lighthouse. I could imagine it was a project. That lighthouse is HUGE!! omg... 3 hours of waiting for this ferry... crazy. The horses are pretty! YESS... I hate when people just throw all their PPE everywhere. It drives me nuts. Great PSA! :) Awesome video guys as always!
Thank you so much for watching Chrissa! Yeah I think the lost colony is so insane! Burning your feet on hot sand is the worst 🥵 glad you agree with the PSA! Haha 😊🌏

I find the Roanoke mystery so interesting! There's a few stories like this across the globe, so weird. The ferry that takes you back to the main land is $15 one way. We went from Ocracoke to Cedar Point but it also goes to Swan Quarter (and vice versa). You can book reservations online but we were able to walk up to the booth and purchase our ticket on the spot. 😊
This is an awesome looking area guys, I would love to visit. That Pizza looked huge...lol OMG Bundy Root beer - Did I tell you that I grew up in Bundaberg 😀
Excellent video. Ocracoke is the best destination in NC. Been going to Duck, Corolla and Kitty Hawk since '16 and the traffic gets worse every year. Ocracoke has so much elbow room especially on the beach. A great island to go beach wheelin' in the Jeep. ⛱O|||||||O😎
You’re absolutely right, that was a mistake/typo. Thanks for the correction! So awesome that you just moved there, such a beautiful area! We’re both originally from NC as well and used to live on the Crystal Coast. Enjoy your new home and thanks for the comment!
Yeah, OBX is super dog friendly. Some of the places won't allow dogs mid day in the summer because of the heat, but I know Southern Shores, Duck Nags Head, Kill Devil Hills, Kitty Hawk, etc all have dog friendly beaches. I know Corolla has some good wheelchair accessible beaches. The Currituck Visitor's Center and Currituck Beach Lighthouse have wheelchair ramps to the beach, perfect for if you rent a beach wheelchair. Pro tip: don't feed/pet the wild horses! They aren't lost and they haven't been domesticated. We are trying desperately to protect them since they are endangered!
Indeed, the Outer Banks are lovely! We love living here! However, the bears in the Alligator Natural Wildlife area are not the biggest bears but they are the biggest NUMBER of bears in the U.S. Also, the Lost Colony of Roanoke was never really lost. We know where they went. We do not know WHY they left. The "lost colony" thing was started as a tourist attraction. The Wright Brothers' flight took place in Kill Devil Hills, not Nags Head which is 5 miles further south. The Bodie Island Lighthouse's name is pronounced "Body" Island and "Body" Island Lighthouse. Are you SURE the Cape Hatteras lighthouse is the tallest one? Glad you enjoyed your visit here. :)
So cool that you live in the Outer Banks :) Thanks for watching! :) 1. BEARS: Here's some sources saying that the black bears in COASTAL NC area ARE the largest in the world, holding several records. A quote and link from ncwildlife.org: "The current world record black bear was harvested in Craven County in 1998 and weighed 880 pounds." www.ncwildlife.org/Portals/0/Learning/documents/Species/Bear/Appendix_A.pdf A quote and link from Bearology.com: "A little known Bear Fact is that coastal North Carolina is home to the largest black bears on the planet! How big are they? North Carolina’s coastal black bears average 50-100 lbs or more than their cousins. The current World Record black bear is an 880 lb. giant from Eastern North Carolina recorded in 1998. There have been more than a dozen bears over 700lbs recorded and dozens more over 600lbs harvested in the coastal region of North Carolina." www.bear-ology.org/BearFacts-Largest.aspx 2. THE LOST COLONY: If you know where they went you should notify historians and the History Channel, as I'm sure they'd be fascinated to find out. I would also love to know! They disappeared and the only clue left behind was "“Croatoan” written on a post. Here's the History Channel's article about it: "Investigations into the fate of the “Lost Colony” of Roanoke have continued over the centuries, but no one has come up with a satisfactory answer. Perhaps, then, the colonists were killed or abducted by Native Americans. Other hypotheses hold that they tried to sail back to England on their own and got lost at sea, that they met a bloody end at the hands of Spaniards who had marched up from Florida or that they moved further inland and were absorbed into a friendly tribe" Link: www.history.com/news/what-happened-to-the-lost-colony-of-roanoke 3: The flight in Kill Devil Hills. You're absolutely right on that one and we knew that but somehow put the wrong thing in the text, we visited the site in Kill Devil Hills. I guess the mistake was made while trying to tie it into the sand dunes and we must have had it on the brain when typing. Thanks for pointing that out :) 4. We are aware how it's pronounced :) Did we even mention it's name in the video? 5. LIGHTHOUSES: Here's a link and quote from the US Lighthouse Society: "The Tallest Lighthouse is Cape Hatteras, NC (196 ft. built in 1872)" uslhs.org/education/glossaries-facts-trivia/lighthouse-facts#:~:text=The%20tallest%20lighthouse%20is%20Cape,Toronto%20Islands%2C%20Toronto%2C%20Canada. One thing that could be wrong in our video is the amount of shipwrecks. Some sources say 600-1000, others say 3,000, and a commenter (and likely other sources) say over 5,000. For sure A LOT!
This video deserves to be viral, really beautiful scenery and very captivating.

A quote and link from ncwildlife.org: "The current world record black bear was harvested in Craven County in 1998 and weighed 880 pounds."

A quote and link from Bearology.com: "A little known Bear Fact is that coastal North Carolina is home to the largest black bears on the planet! How big are they? North Carolina’s coastal black bears average 50-100 lbs or more than their cousins. The current World Record black bear is an 880 lb. giant from Eastern North Carolina recorded in 1998. There have been more than a dozen bears over 700lbs recorded and dozens more over 600lbs harvested in the coastal region of North Carolina."

2. Other hypotheses hold that they tried to sail back to England on their own and got lost at sea, that they met a bloody end at the hands of Spaniards who had marched up from Florida or that they moved further inland and were absorbed into a friendly tribe"

3: The flight in Kill Devil Hills. You're absolutely right on that one and we knew that but somehow put the wrong thing in the text, we visited the site in Kill Devil Hills. I guess the mistake was made while trying to tie it into the sand dunes and we must have had it on the brain when typing. Thanks for pointing that out :)
4. We are aware how it's pronounced :) Did we even mention it's name in the video?
5. LIGHTHOUSES: Here's a link and quote from the US Lighthouse Society: "The Tallest Lighthouse is Cape Hatteras, NC (196 ft. built in 1872)"

One thing that could be wrong in our video is the amount of shipwrecks. Some sources say 600-1000, others say 3,000, and a commenter (and likely other sources) say over 5,000. For sure A LOT!
Good VLOG but all the stupid facemask ruined it though
The music absolutely ruined this presentation
Appreciate the feedback :)
