The best way is to do a lot of short films and gain knowledge on each craft. This knowledge surely will help you when interacting with a director. The language you speak changes when you do ten short films even when those short films are not impressive. Directors can easily identify your potential when you're really genuinely trying to learn the craft. Don't sit idle and lazy around. Keep your best foot forward and DO SOMETHING... CONSISTENTLY. CREATE SOMETHING. and learn from your mistakes. This becomes your own self-created internship course. The secret is when you put your heart into it. It SHOWS. after doing 10 to 20 short films. Who knows you may not actually need to assist any director. Now don't tell me i don't have actors. Make your friends your actors. Don't tell me you don't have a camera, your phone is your cam. Don't tell me you don't have network. You have TH-cam. You have social media. Begin where you are and one day you will reach where you want to. If you have the DRIVE. you will find your DESTINATION. NO ONE CAN STOP YOU. All the best hero. - Ajay Vegesna
