Battery works great in an ammo box that you can drill holes through to protect it from water and set it down in your dry storage
That was good advice on the need to get your own screws for the Scotty Universal Mount platform
Thanks
Great feed sir AWSOME. Only advice I have is that you have a bungee cord going under over the battery in the middle. If you flip that kayak the battery is a gone and those clips won’t hold battery from falling under water too. The other strap is good from moving.
Awesome. Love the neat setup without drilling hole. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
I suck when it comes to electronics so thank you.
Nice and simple
Yes, me too.
Thank you!
Great set! I'm going to set up the same kayak with the same Garmin, just as you are showing us. Thank you for the awesome content!!
Thank you for your kind words. You'll love this setup!
@@BajooJajoo Cool. I'm sure you'll like the setup.
Let me know how it works.
I have about the same boat, Tamarack pro, $400 . Another $409After the Yakattack accessories and Garmin. It adds up. Great video
That’s a good kayak.
Thanks for watching!
IMHO, you should consider a battery box to mount it higher in the back of the crate and use pool noodles or pool vacuum tubes cut down and zip tied to the bottom of the crate to elevate it and keep it drier. Water and batteries do not mix.
I agree
How did you connect the alligator clips to the other end of the wires??
Great video. Has anyone with the same or a similar set-up had trouble with the transducer arm getting in the way of paddling?
How long does the battery last? We make trips lasting 5 days, fishing 6-7 hrs a day. Is a 2nd battery needed
👏 👏 👏 👏 👏 👏
Did you have to add the alligator clips to the wires?
You can recharge the battery?
Very helpfull
How can you paddle with that setup ?
Does your transducer arm move pretty freely? I’m curious because I fish a lot of shallow rivers on my kayak and I would never want to run into water too shallow and break the arm or transducer.
In shallow rivers I just keep the transducer up and out of the water completely. Once You loosen it, the transducer moves real easy.
You definitely don't want this hitting the bottom. The arm is plastic and would break easily.
@@RelentlessSportsman do you use yours at all in a shallow river? Specifically, one of the rivers I like to float is mostly shallow but also has deep holes. Is it pretty easy to just move the arm around while I’m in the middle of a shallow flat?
@matthewrollison
If you’re kayak has a compartment in it that unscrews, you can secure the transducer inside with duct seal. The transducer will still read through the plastic as long as there is no air underneath it so you never have to worry about taking it out. I saw this on TH-cam by the way)
@@rowanlinderud1800 yes, I have seen that method on here before. Unfortunately mine doesn’t have a storage compartment. I have been able to make mine work out pretty well though. Thanks!
How bad does it interfere with the transducer when you paddle?
I haven't experienced any issues so far.
Anyone have an answer to my situation? I have an inflatable yak. How can I position & secure the transducer so it works for me? TIA
You're going to need to look into compatible glue in tracks maybe as one option if there's no frame for mounting stuff too
I didnt know i needed a kayak. Thanks!
Have you had problems with the fish finder being on the same side as the trolley anchor system
No, not really. I adjust accordingly. I avoid using an anchor if possible.
What size bolts you use
For anyone else wondering this I used #10 1/2 inch screws
How did you connect the alligator clips to the other end of the wires?
i had the same question
5:03 He uses the plugs that directly come with the 4cv and transducer
