@zaidanzour I mean this video exposed that these opinions don't have backing on the texts, or put differently, the opinion that it is generally haram is the one that is backed up... So it probably is kinda haram indeed... (which is an F to me, but It does make sense in a lot of ways...)

Ever since i turned to listening to Quran recitations only, and asking Allah,'s guidance and trying to be a better muslim, i have automatically developed an aversion to or rather not drawn to music or craving music as i used to. I used to be immersed in it for hours. Same for watching movies and binging on series. I cannot really expain what i feel, only someone who has experienced this can understand what im saying that music has something that slowly takes you away from Imaan and gradually leads you to sin. It always clashes with my mood when i am feeling best in terms of faith, i feel no desire for music. And when i am weak in faith, i do not mind listening to and enjoying music. Definitely, there must be a strong reason why it is not permitted.

Alhamdulillah you feel an aversion to music. I am a revert and i have grown up pretty much with music and movies as part of my life. It took me a long time to even realise music and movies are haram as they take us away from Allah. Alhamdulillah now I understand it is haram and stay away from them. But in the place where I live music is played almost in every shop, restaurant. And it reminds me of my childhood and how I enjoyed listening to them. I still haven't developed an aversion to music may be I never will reach that point. But I know it is haram and try my best to stay away from it.

One of the best acts of ibadah that Muslim performs and many overlook is Thinking positively of Allah is meant Allah will respond when offering supplication (du‘aa’); thinking positively that He will accept one’s repentance when repenting; thinking positively that He will forgive when seeking His forgiveness; thinking positively that He will accept good deeds when doing them according to the prescribed conditions, believing strongly that His promise is true and His grace is abundant.
"One day your actions will visit you, so don't be surprised when you see them."
Your soul is a completed novel, yet you spend your time reading other people & wonder why you still haven’t found yourself.
Happiness was asked: where do you live?
It replied: in the hearts of those content with Allaah’s decree

Glorify Undefinable, The Answerer or The Stabilizer of Matter
Controllers of Body, By Eternal Existence Rely to Undefinable alone, be Serene and judge by how Matter executes! The Identity can exist in every possibility!
Ask guidance and things you can't get to The Answerer, THAT allowed you into this body, THAT gave truth for clean-minded in Subconscious, and avoid numbness!
And use wonders Lord of Existence made from Earth, and don't take what is unknown until you will understand it! Shape your own makings, and you will be supported!
Blessed is Controller of Man filled with subtle joy, united with Intuition! That relies to Causer of Origins alone, That chooses by the best, That hears brainwaves!
The life can be mastered, for rules were made simple to Observant! Don't be fearful of destiny, because we're parts of possibilities, that have freewill with Serenity!
By wonders of fat-stores usage, that cleans everything inside itself! forbid high anti-nutrient, PUFA, synthetic food - allow wheatgrass, fruit seeds and ferment food!
Trial is what evil awaited and good missed! Universe remains to its original form, and don't change adaptable bodies in ignorance!
Challenging are the days of Illusion and a sad burden to anyone that didn't seek independence, nothing is miracle-free as first-cause!
Great are the days of Responsibility that nourish the Soul! We have always existed! Everything is possible, Everyone is alike!

So true! on the occasion of the naming ceremony of my daughter, my in-laws insisted on the playing music and dancing which I was totally against but I was too weak to stop it but one of my mates stood up right in the middle of the crowd and started preaching that music is haram and forbidden and guess what? They labelled him an extremist, just like the Sheikh said. What's even more sad is that these were Muslims calling him that.

Music has become Haram because people couldn't behave. Drinking, Dancing/singing with wrong intentions, Committing adultery. If you play an instrument and keep it for yourself or your family, I don't see anything wrong with it. It starts to get wrong when you start singing and it starts spreading, building network and ending up in the Haram world. I don't have Tik Tok, Snapchat, Instagram or FaceBook. I never listen to the Radio and I rarely see Television.

As a former musician and audio engineer.. it'll be a big sacrifice letting go of it. Though I have faith and also personally understand why it's Haram, the lifestyles of 'artists' have always been debauched in history. Especially today.
Music messes with our emotions and destroys inner contentment. It's a gateway to filth. It gets us to shut down our minds and enter trance states where we cannot resist sin as well.
It's for the better if we don't engage with it.

I have suffered from a strange medical condition the last few years which left me unable to listen to music without severe pain and discomfort in one ear and one side of my head. The medical experts had no explanation whatsoever. I have often wondered if this 'curse' was in fact, a _blessing_ in disguise from the one God. I learned I was not dependent on music and that I could do without it- something I never thought possible. In fact, I would say it gave me something far better: time to study God. Instead of listening to music at night, I study holy books. I have experienced blessings ever since...

As Muslim Revert of 24 years I personally believe that music is Haram. I am not a Scholar of Fiqh so I really should not be discussing this subject. But, I'm American and it is hard for me to completely agree with music being Haram especially when the first time I noticed the word Allah and Islam was through Hip Hop during the mid 90s. It's influence was so positive that during HS we named our basketball team AFRICA Islam BROTHERS and none of us on that team were Muslims at that time! The seed was planted. It was watered a few years later after reading the Autobiography of Hajj Malik Shabazz. I finally took Shahada .my then GF told me ," u would be a good Muslim!" I read more and became a Muslim in Detroit.

I have asked a number of religious teachers who said that among the scholars there’s no Ijma (consensus) that all music and all musical instruments are haram. There are individual scholars with the opinion that it is haram, while others opined that it is permissible subject to only good music, not those bad ones - well there are many types of music! As a revert, I don't think I could ever stop listening to *all music.* Certain music? Absolutely yes. I am definitely more carful about what music I listen to now after converting and I definitely understand how certain music effects your mood and psychology. I also don't completely disagree with all the arguments that scholars who do think music is haram give for holding that position. It's easy to look at the modern music industry and what get's produced (especially in the mainstream) which I would absolutely agree is haram and disgusting. However I think you can't throw the baby out with the bathwater. There is traditional music and classical music and (some piano Jazz) that is really calming and research has shown that it is quite healthy for the development of children. Moreover there is an entire tradition of middle eastern music including an Islamic tradition of music going back through the medieval periods.
I am familiar with a hadith of the prophet S.A.W suggesting that some or certain musical instruments where prohibited. However there are also Hadith mention that certain instruments where allowed on certain celebration occasions such as Ede.
I also think that that music in that hadith could have been a mistranslation to mean *partying and entertainment in general (which often accompanies music).* The Pagan Meccans for example where known for their really bazar parties that accompanied alcohol, music, fighting duels and other highly bazar rituals and haram activities. So I think that Hadith could be referring to that more then only and specifically music in general.
When I defend music, I am not defending all music however or saying it's all good. I see it like poetry and speech, if it carries a message that is harmful then it is of coarse bad and creates hypocrisy of the heart of Muslims that listen to it. Music is sort of like a language and speech. It can be used for good or corrupted for evil.
For those who would argue that singing is allowed but musical instruments not allowed. Do they realize that the human voice can make all the same music note registries as an instrument? The Call To Prayer in my opinion is music and it is really beautiful as well. Even if it doesn't contain instruments it does have those music note registries.
Music by definition is something that when defined at it's bass root is a collection of sounds arranged to form melody, harmony and rhythm (which is what I am defending) and not necessarily everything that falls under this.
Feel free to reply to this and add your thoughts but please be respectful.

I believe there are many reasons why music is haraam, and here is one of them that you are probably not aware of:
Popular music today is tuned at 440Hz, which actually does damage to you, on a cellular level.
If you know what cymatics is, you will understand.
On the other hand, listening attentatively to the adhaan... will HEAL you.
What you LISTEN to will hurt you or heal you, and listening to what hurts you is DEFINITELY haraam, because your body is an amanat bestowed upon you by our Creator SWT, and needs to be TAKEN CARE OF.
That's just one reason, there are many.

    • @TheSeth256
      @TheSeth256 ปีที่แล้ว +2

Why are you then against music, instead of being against people who push this frequency? It's like saying eating is haraam because some food can be poisonous, even though we know which to avoid.

    • @pasikhdar6617
      @pasikhdar6617 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@TheSeth256 as he said, it is merely one of the many reason. A good Muslim is definitely one who has foregone the pursuit of indulgence. And if one comes across a ruling (which may restrict his leeway for pleasure) that he or the community at large is in doubt of, he would choose to abstain from stepping into the gray area. This is the best attitude to have.
In reference to the story of The Prophet Seth, music (as in 'pleasing sounds', since back in Prophet Adam's days music production is nowhere near as sophisticated as now) was used as a vehicle to sway the believers into doubting Allah's decree and hence committing collective sins, or at least entrance them into an addictive, vulnerable euphoric state in which they are suggestible (to shaytan's waswasa). In my opinion, this is very akin to intoxication. We should not deliberately subject ourselves to such state of lacking control/weakness if we know we will be susceptible to harming ourselves and potentially others.
Keep in mind, the 'music' in Prophet Seth's days were simple tunes from a single musical instrument. And nowadays we have lyrics mixed in. A lot of even the Muslim youth take wisdom from, and revere, the lyricist of their favourite songs (which conveyed messages that opposes the Deen) instead of the Word of God. Excessive exposure to music means it is only a matter of time before the subject longs for and prefers the addicting trance/euphoric feeling of 'easiness' instead of doing jihad (struggle) by for example understanding and memorizing the Quran.

    Assalamualaikum Brothers and Sisters,
Who can give me advice, please?
My father is encouraging me to go into music class, he even offered to buy me an instrument if I take music classes. Sometimes he’d ask me to sing in a band or be a backup singer but I’ve always refused (I’m scared of exposing people’s sins because Allah S.W.T already covered it for them so, I hope this is not exposing his sins because that’s not my intention. Also because I really just want to give the whole context because I seriously don’t know what to do in this situation).
I don’t want to assume why my father is doing this (because only Allah S.W.T knows), but a possible reason comes to mind; my father wants to help me get new skills and experience so (or) that I can write it on my resume.
IF my intention was for it to just be on my resume, would it be okay to go into music classes?
Would it be appropriate according to our religion? Like is it worth it to get a skill in playing an instrument (according to our religion or) to just get it on the piece of paper?
A major reason I refused to go to music classes is I want to prevent my heart from attaching itself to music (especially in times where I am down). Like, in the process of learning an instrument, I don’t know what will happen to my imaan and heart so, I’m cautious about this. It’s a conflicting because I don’t want to displease Allah S.W.T so, I should stay away from things like these right?
Personally for me, a muslim cannot love the Qur’an and love music (except for nasheeds) at the same time, it’s impossible.
I’m not sure what to do, can some brothers and sisters please give advice?
jazakallah khair to anyone who reads this or gives advice!

Same with me, my advice, dont learn musical instruments, its goin to take you to many sins.
From Nafi', Ibn Umar's former slave, he said, 'Ibn Umar once heard the sound of a flute from a shepherd, then he plugged his ears with his two fingers. Then he moved to another way. Then Ibn Umar said, 'O Nafi, do you still hear that voice?' I (Nafi) said, 'Yes, I still hear it.'' Then, Ibn Umar continued walking. Then I said, ''I don't hear it anymore.'' It was only then that Ibn Umar removed his hand from his ear and returned to the road and said, "This is how I saw the Prophet sallallaahu 'alaihi wa sallam when he heard the sound of a flute from a shepherd. He did it like before.' (HR. Ahmad).

Why in europe, the age of enlightenment and exploration when we had explosion of innovation, creativity, technology, etc there was also golden period of music? The great classical composers like bach even wrote for the church, they dedicated their music to god. Now in the modern age, why are all the muslims struggling to reach europe to live prosperous lives, and are benefiting from all this technology? Seems like islam holds back progress if you are too autistic about hadiths.
Also, from an outside nonmuslim observer, there is clearly a spectrum of music, just like language it can be used for good and evil. I understand avoiding sinful music but maybe i am missing the point here on why all music is haram. Why cant our words also be considered "idols" which lead us to sin?
Or maybe islamic chanting is halal because the words themselves point to Allah, so there is no chance for us to be distracted by haram influences. In that case, why cant we make a sample pad that plays the words of the chant, and then play it on a piano keyboard? Or why cant we make a musical language where a certain combination of noted is defined to mean "allah akbar" so that we can be praising Allah while we play those notes? Otherwise I think islam should get rid of the chanting as well, since we cant possibly know for sure whether the turn of melody is pointing us to Allah, or to something haram. We should also try our best to talk in a monotone voice and robotic cadence, to reduce the risk of creating a haram influence with the pitch and rhythm of our speaking
