I can't afford to use shiners being on disability they are just too expensive. I raise my own worms for my cat fishing . Not many ponds left here in South Alabama any more, most of the folks I knew that had ponds have gone on to be with the Lord. What your doing is a great idea.
That’s great you have Mobile Bay to fish in. Bet that’s some great fishing around that area. I fish in Eufula and Ft Gaines area. Been under the weather for a while been hai g fusing withdraws. Blessings on your fishing
I usually just fish crappie through the ice, i don't open water target em anymore. I stick to nightcrawlers, my yard is full of em and I can pick 20+ dozen in an hour or so. I mainly target perch, bluegill, walleye, catfish and trout in SW Wisconsin. Great looking pond and awesome way to save on bait👍
Yeah, I would relocate those Bluegill to a cleaning board, then to the kitchen. That is the best location I can think of. By the way, I have tied up a few of the "Perfect Crappie Minnow Jigs" and tweaked them just a tiny bit for my area. Thank you for that video, I have it saved should I need it in the future. Really enjoy your channel, thanks for going to the time and trouble to do it.
I got my bait dealers license in tn it was like 30 bucks and the minnow tuck brings them to me for 12 bucks a pound. I got some in my pond from 3yrs ago that are 10 to 12 inches long
I get fishing crappie with minnows. I used to but now all I need is a 2” sparkling chartreuse green Mr. Twister Tail on a 1/32 oz. yellow jig head on 4 lb. line. Works every time. but then again that makes it harder to drink your beer.
Ma boy dug a small pond for his gold fish but he didnt want to use it anymore bcause hes lazy to keep it clean so i used it for minnows so now i dont have to run to the bait shop anymore.
I tried this a few years ago and it was so discouraging. I put so much time & energy into a 50 gallon drum set up with a recirculator & sprayer.....dechlorinator.....and every single minnow was dead the next morning lol
depending on how you received the fish. u most likely needed to drip acclimate them into your setup. normally you dont but, when the water difference is night and day even minnows will die. to give a reference its like entering into a pool. if you are walking down into the water you wont feel much. but if you are jumping from 10 floors down. to many things can go wrong when you hit the water. drip acclimating is basically you slowly moving yourself back down closer to the pol before entering it
A little town North of Mobile called Chunchula. I fish the Mobile River Delta region, My daddy and I had a camp on the Mobile river so Yeah I;m an old river rat and proud of it.

I’m same situation, why we invested in this project.
I have to wait on Wally World to put Bobby Garlands on sale and I make my hand tied jigs. @@awfoutdoors6299
Not everyone has a pond to raise anything l. Show us a way to raise minnows in an apartment, and then my money is in you

i put tuffy minnows in my pond they raise good you don't have to feed them if you keep the blue herrons out you will have more minnow than you can use
Thanks, I bet those birds can do some damage
I tried this a few years ago and it was so discouraging. I put so much time & energy into a 50 gallon drum set up with a recirculator & sprayer.....dechlorinator.....and every single minnow was dead the next morning lol
Sorry to hear that

How do you plan to harvest them, for use?
Not sure yet if will seine them or use a basket
Maybe a casting net
I use a minnow trap. Easy, cheap, fast..
What are your prices to go crappie fishing? Do you have a list of prices?
Send me an email at the address in the video. Thanks
@@awfoutdoors6299 ok thanks.

Need more just like you !
👍🏼
I bet the birds love to see you pull up 😅
I hope not lol
It would be interesting to know if this helped reduce the mosquito population as well…..
Great question
Man I hope you can keep the birds out, they will have a field day if they find them minners
Maybe I can, I agree
not worried about birds wiping you out?
I hope not
Feed them dog food 🎣🫶🏻
I raise minnows in a deep freeze ❤
I sent you an email about the guided trips.
I’ll ck it out later today, I’ll be out of touch till Monday. Thanks 🙏
Ok thanks.
Where is your aeration
I don’t think I need it in the pond
When Jesus seen them down by the sea fishing I bet he didn't "ask for a fishing license", like others force us to get today .
Times have changed a bit in 2000 years brother
In Alabama we don’t buy fishing license when we get to be seniors. But out of the state yes. Everything is just a money racket.
Walking on water
California minors $6.99 per dozen
Those aren't crappie minnows those are shiners!!
😜. Appreciate you watching
Crappie minnows are shiners.
