The change from being "aware of the spoon" to "i am the spoon" symbolising his realisation that his ability to survive is actually within him, and not fed to him by an external hand, and that an eye should be kept on what he is internalising
To me, it reads as having gnostic themes, much like many of their other songs. Specifically, this one would be about opening yourself up to receiving knowledge from a higher source. Think about the hand holding the spoon, presumably filled with some new information or way of thinking, nourishing the writer the way a mother might feed food to a child so they might be nourished. He says, "I am focused. I am almost there," which I believe to be referring to some state of enlightenment. "How much can I convince you to stomach?" This would be the higher source indicating to the writer that attaining this higher state would not necessarily be pleasant as either some of it would be uncomfortable or the sheer volume might be overwhelming, which also aligns with the food metaphor.
