Turned to eggshell implies the same as you suggest but basically your once cushioned padded walls are thin fragile walls that you easily break through and cause damage

Pink Floyd, Phil Collins, Kyuss, King Crimson, QOTSA, Hendrix etc. It seems to only serve one purpose: let everyone else know they know these bands and like them. Just give it up for All Them Witches, guys, they have influences, sure, but first and foremost they sound like themselves and what a great sound that is! Sleeping Through the War is a masterpiece!
Maybe they are just expressing how they connected to the music, because maybe you also connected in that way. Not showing off their "music taste", just sharing an experience.
