I've just retired after 35yrs as a flight attendant. I was reselling the past couple years as a side hustle. I'm now reselling full time. Love my commute in my pjs to my office down the hall lolololol

I was really into reselling part time for a while a couple years ago and it went well. I got lazy and stopped listing, but occasionally still make sales. I still watch you guys regularly which is a testament to your content creation.

Great points and discussion, I've been reselling since 2013 on ebay, started as just a dabble, then part, then full time, then working full time and reselling part time, back to reselling full time again. Just when you think things arent the best you score the biggest flip of your entire life. God is good! Wishing you guys success and luck!

I do it as a side hustle, one which I enjoy a lot. Videos like this that don't sugarcoat things and are more reality-based are very insightful.

The upsides: You don't have huge capitol expenditures. You don't have to constantly hustle to find clients. You don't have to pay someone upfront to build your reselling website. You can take time away from reselling at any point without having to maintain a business.

I would agree with this - having something to sell when you retire is a big part of a standard business. However, I would also say that you can use reselling to fund something that can produce stored value. In other words, use that income stream to purchase investments - including real estate - and other businesses. Perhaps low time intenstive business - which do exist.

Good video! You gotta *invest* and have something solid to fall back on!
I started reselling back in 2012 and then I decided to stop when I became a father in 2014 the same year I created my clothing brand. Last year I started reselling again and a lot has changed as far as eBay and the market in general (but that’s a whole different topic.) Today my brand is doing well and on it’s 10th year anniversary this year but I plan to build it up even faster now and expand using profits from reselling.
My point is, I let go of reselling to start a better foundation that one day my kids can inherit and continue to grow. Something beneficial when all is said and done. I’m hoping some of the younger resellers see this and consider making a change for a better future.

Have thought about this for a few years now. I can't sell my reselling business but I do enjoy trading and selling options in the stock market which is much more passive than reselling so I just funnel a lot of that money into my brokerage.

Extremely great video loving the Car Chronicles. Truly puts another perspective on Reselling that most would not think about. Currently doing this as a side hustle but hoping to do this full time. Its kind of like you. I would probably make more money if I could focus on one business instead of a couple.

I work full time and started reselling on eBay in January 2023. Mostly vintage clothes, but also a little bit of everything. We are using eBay right now to pay for extra stuff and for our vacations. Until I hit at least 6 figures, I will keep my full time job because of my benefits and security. I’ve done alright so far. I sold 860 items my first year. I became a top seller in March of last year. My feedback stays at 100%. I’ve sold over 200 items so far this year. I enjoy it

I find that the thrill of finding amazing items is something that I believe I’ll always want to do. I guess we will see what my children end up doing for their careers but I think it would be pretty awesome to pass that eBay business down to them someday to where they have something that is already built that can pay them that they can continue to grow and not have corporate handcuffs. I envision vacation road trips during retirement where we scour the country at our own pace and maximize time with family. I’m just 42 now but this seems like so much fun. I’m loving everything about reselling including the people you see, the music in the stores. It’s pretty relaxing to me.

Yeah if you're doing it full time and need the space anyway maybe trying to buy a small building or something instead of renting a shop/storage space. That way you can sell that later probably for more than you paid and if it has multiple units you can rent those to other businesses.

Great vid! Enjoyed that. I’ve got my own Powersports business where I resell used utv/atv and side by sides. I got a question concerning dealing with people on Facebook marketplace. When I posted a utv that was a rare kind one person who inquired was a real butt wipe about what I stated in the description saying it was rare…. And I won’t go into detail, but they were trying to edge me on into saying something/entertaining them if you know what I mean. I just go about blocking them or just leaving the chat. I then had another guy who has been looking for this particular utv that understood the market and came to look at it today and probably is going to buy it next Sunday. My question is this; how do you suggest to deal with these people that act a certain way? Is there anything you can suggest to add to the description or it just simply is a part of reselling?? I would like to see you make a video with your thoughts on that topic!! Thank you Ryan! Keep them up 🤙🏻

Great topic! I sell part time and make around 50k a year. I’m a nurse that works weekend package option so I have all week for the side hustle. Don’t think I would enjoy it if I “needed” the money. It would be stressful at that point. But we paid our home off last year and live free of debt.

Great video it also Depends what category you sell on eBay, and how you run your business. For example, I don’t buy items to sell tomorrow I buy high-end brands- parts. Over and over and currently sitting over 1 million cost of Goods in inventory and if I don’t buy nothing for the whole year I still will sell 30-40k a month because of how I structured the business and each year business getting larger and larger because investing money in to it and making more, That’s how I’m scaling and over the years it’s very easy to sell because you constantly have money coming in, I have items that sell right away items sell with in 5 years but I’m doing industrial parts where they are very expensive compare to normal parts but every day sales come in even when you don’t list nothing for months. Been watching your Chanel when you had 5k subscribers. Take care.

Agree and disagree. Indeed nothing for a buyer to buy, however, must first decide end game. Extra. Incomes allow greater purchasing power to build assets in another “category” aka real estate, stocks, and other “fixed assets”.

Great viewpoint! Not being sellable or able to be fully automated (which go hand in hand) is the biggest downside I always tell people who ask about the long term plan. Glad eBay taught me this though so the next business down the road is focused on being able to be sold and automated.

This is so true we were just talking about this the other day people ask me and say, you sell items online on eBay what's it like being your own Boss I say well I'm not My own Boss eBay's my boss. At the end of the day it's basically a job with no benefits. Don't get me wrong I love eBay but you and I think alike. It would be pretty cool if you could sell your eBay account once you build it up. 😃👍👊🤝

You can sell your eBay business site and part of the deal you would teach the new owner about the business and how to buy and sell, essentially you would come on as an employee say for one year contract then separate.
