I guess Cricut design space for explore air 2 doesn't allow uploading your own file to pattern fill anymore. I just tried not able to use edit pattern.
Yep, same here. I used to be able to, but the feature hasn't been working for the last six weeks or so. I only had a few uploaded, it looks like I'm stuck with the (mostly) hideous standard ones...

This is something I have never done, I have seen it used with the engrave tool to fill out letters. Really need to give this a go.

Can you do this on the iPad app? I don’t seem to have the pattern option.
You can only use patterns on a desktop or laptop computer.

You should be able to. Try reopening DS and see if that helps.
