    The fact that the sister, at 8 years old, didn't shout for the grown ups but actually ran and saved him herself is impressive. The mother and the grandma also both did a fantastic job handling the 911 call and the CPR.

    Amazing how the little sister had the sense to jump in and get his face out of the water. Great first step, and she seems very calm!!

    Today's the 28th anniversary of when this happened, so Stephen is 30, Kristen is 36, and David is 33 now. I'm sure Stephen can never thank Kristen enough for saving his life. Maybe she grew up to be a lifeguard. Rosemary explains that Stephen's biggest drawback and asset is that he never thinks to ask whether or not he can do things and just very independent and thinks he can do anything by himself. He never asks, "Can I do this?" or "Can I do that?" When he went out to the pool through the kitchen, Kristen didn't notice him walk past her. Rosemary also didn’t see him under the table outside near the pool. I moved to Charlotte, North Carolina from Fountain Hills, Arizona in May of 1993. We moved because of my father’s job.

      @fhuiethu howierujwef I don’t like it when people say cruel things to me. I did move to North Carolina from Arizona because of my father’s job.

    It's been 30 years since this happened so Stephen is 32, Kristen is 38, and David is 35 now. This happened on a Tuesday and 4 days before Independence Day. When I saw Stephen floating face down in the pool, I was frightened. I'm sure Stephen thanked Kristen for saving his life because if she didn't check the pool area again, he would've died.

    This is why parents should pay attention to their own kids, definitely when you have a pool

      Well, just remember one thing, my friend, which is, moving day can be stressful sometimes and when that happens, you don't think about what might happen next.

    Everyone needs to learn CPR in order to save other people's lives including ourselves as of today. All parents and guardians should never leave their children wandering around alone and unsupervised or that could cost them their lives including you

    • @katiejohnston988

      I could not agree more. I have never had to perform CPR or anybody for real and really hope I never do. I have had CPR & First Aid Training several times within the last ten years however. So thankful I have too since it helped me save a human life earlier this year.
      Back In January, I found myself in my first ever position of having to perform the Heimlich Maneuver on another person. It was a good co-worker friend on mine who choked on a piece of chicken at lunch time. She was gasping for air and could not speak, one of the scariest moments of my life.
      Funny how I did not even really think about what I needed to do at that moment. When I realized that she was choking, I just knew I had to start thrusting for her and it all just clicked. I just did it the way If been trained in it and got the food out on the fourth thrust with a strong push. I was so glad she was okay and could not believe I’d just saved her life. I think EVERYBODY should have CPR & First Aid Training, it’s a gift which will last you a lifetime. 🩹 ⛑ ❤️

    The mother Rosemary kinda looks like J.K. Rowling I think. And Kristin is the image of her mom. What a great little girl for running into the pool to rescue her little brother like that. She could have panicked and started freaking out when she saw Stephen in the pool. But instead, she acted very quickly and jumped right in to grab him. So glad Stephen was okay. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

    I don't understand how that door was left open. Even if you're moving, there wasn't stuff being brought in that way. Until you have a fence or a gate around the pool, the door stays locked, and hopefully, the lock is out of children's reach.

    Give a darn about swimming pools. People buy fun; and forget how dangerous these things can be.

  • @amandacresswell2799
    @amandacresswell2799 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

    while the mother was interviewing of what happened during the incident
    it sounded like that she had a stuffed up nose
    I'm thinking that she has a cold but she doesn't want to admit it
    I'm still thinking that she is still upset after what happened during her two year son's drowning accident
    because he doesn't know how to swim yet
    but thank goodness that his older sister jumped into the pool and saved him and pulled him out.

      Yeah I thought the same thing. Not sure what her regular voice sounds like, but she does sound congested here. She has kind of a deep voice for a woman too, but some women just sound like that.

    looking for a child you don't glance outside

    • @NDW85
      @NDW85 5 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I have to agree with you on that. The mother should have went out in the backyard to look for Steven instead of just glancing from the door. But I guess that's what can happen when you are moving into a new home. You don't focus on just what might happen next.

    Not all happy endings turned out that way. according to my research around 220 children under five years old drown in the pool, most of them accidental deaths. That’s why you people need to keep the gate locked, so the children don’t go in the pool.

    • @amandas2541

      EASY to say but not always easy to do. I've witnessed many horrible things in my life, I pulled a man from a burning flipped car when I was 8 months pregnant. I helped save a child from drowning, I've been to many accidents and never batted an eye but when my own child almost died, I seriously almost lost my mind. You can't think clearly. You want to do everything you can to help them but at the same time your thinking they are going to die, and life is flashing before your eyes....
