Decker is pretty cool. The first guy he has you kill is corrupt and working with the League of Thieves(who you missed the quests for) and the second girl is working with The Master. And Katja's best weapon is also the SMG on burst fire(risky as always, but moreso to your other companions then you, if you've got power armor no problem same with all of these), if not either the .44 pistol or power fist(better skill in the latter means way more consistent hits, former does more damage, can't remember which averages higher).
@@kel_ski Oh and fun fact, alongside the main 4(Ian, Katja, Dogmeat, and super secret hard to get Tycho..seriously how do you find Tycho who requires you to be at a specific spot at a specific time and have completed the Killian-Gizmo quest in a specific way, but miss Katja out front of a mandatory location asking to join), Tandi was supposed to be a companion, but was cut last minute to prevent a plothole with the NCR ending. The code for it still almost all exists, as it was reused for the rescue mission where she follows you out and fights with you if she has to. So if you rescue Tandi from the Khans and then never go back to Shady Sands, she's a companion. Only part of the code that's removed is orders(she can't change weapons or formation), BUT if you remove her knife prior to her pulling it(steal it off her at the village before being kidnapped or before getting her out of her cell) she can use any weapon Ian can, though she's specced a bit more for melee than him. Steal her knfie and plant a pistol or SMG on her and she's a companion proper. (You can also hope she drops her knife by random chance I guess)
@@kel_ski Finally(third reply to you, sorry a lot to say), yeah Decker is probably the most morally grey character in the game. On the one hand, yeah he's power hungry, yeah he's shady and working with unsavory people, and yes he'll kill innocent people who get in his way(You if you betray him, the Merchants wife, the flower kid at the church). On the other hand, the two targets are both objectively bad for The Hub(One's crooked and working with theives and one's a plant softening up the city for invasion), he's right that the current government is useless(the Sheriff), he's one of the only people who doesn't trust the Children of the Cathedral and suspects they have something to do with the Caravans(and he's right), and he thinks the merchants are corrupt and undermining The Hub and leading it to ruin(Which Fallout 2 confirms was correct, The Hub fell badly behind and ended up being taken over by Shady Sands NCR despite The Hub's massive lead and controlling the water and currency). You have zero reason to kill him. The Hub's good ending is impossible to get (It requires you to turn in Iguana Bob which is bugged and doesn't work, and it requires a Harold quest to protect other mutants which is completely cut) so Decker is in the right here.

I bought this game this week because I love the TV series. This is my first exposure to Fallout games. I was frustrated with the UI and controls and decided not to play the game for a day. Got back to it and finished yesterday. A classic video game masterpiece that modern ones should look up to and emulate.
Kelski, I think you really outdid yourself this time. It has been months since I found a TH-cam video this entertaining. I’m not saying the videos you released in the last several months were not entertaining, I’m saying that this video raised the bar. I was really excited for this video and it definitely did not disappoint.
Great video mate. Fyi there are actually 3 methods to defeat the master. 1) your method - straight out killing him 2) secretly arming the nuke in the basement and running away 3) convincing The Master by finding the evidence that all super mutants are sterile and cannot reproduce. Then he accepts the fact all of his work was in vain and kills himself. Fallout indeed is remarkably advanced game for its time.
Thank god you ran in the end, because I first played this around the time the show came out. And I ended up getting stuck in a spot where I was feet away and didn’t have time to get to safety. My last save was a good while prior, and having to go back hurt my soul
@@kel_ski You sure it wasn't the radiation? Cause you playing chess with the computer also passes time, which will make Rad-X wear off eventually. And when you hit 1000 rads, you die in a day unless you make it go lower.

@@kel_ski lol that sucks. I'd also suggest giving Et Tu a try. It ports FO1 into the FO2 engine and makes your companions competent, alongside a ton of other FO2 QOL features.
it's funny how 'good guy bad guy' junktown looks but there's some great nuance. Junktown under Killian can be seen as orderly but also stifled, with travellers and merchants keeping away due to his frontier justice. Gizmo however, looks like the typical bad guy - but he can turn it into a profitable, relatively safe trading hub. These were actually the original outcomes, depending on who was left alive, before they got swapped with 'Killian Good, Gizmo Greedy and bad'
Yeah iirc Interplay didn’t want to “punish” the players for their decisions so they requested it be changed. There’s a reference to the original concept in the game but it requires you to talk to Gizmo first and accept the assassination job. You ask him why you want him dead and he says “Junktown ain’t what it used to be”, but if you ask him the same question after talking to Killian, he just says it’s bc “he cramps MY business”. Certainly the latter line I think was a mistake
Glad to wee you finish Fallout 1 for the same reason I did - just wanted to pay respects to where it all started. Excited to see you continue the series! Im finishing New Vegas for the first time myself.
Injecting your companions with a heavy dose of dru-- I mean, battle stimulants is a good way of keeping them alive in vanilla FO1. Somehow I managed to keep the entire party together on my first play years ago without mods.
I really feel like after you do 2(or Tactics I guess) you should give this one more playthrough. Except this time you read the manual and also have a prior playthrough for context. It’s easily the shortest game in the series and you both specced horribly at the start and then mismanaged it. And you broke the ending area and avoided a fight you shouldn’t have. You could do the dozens of quests and jobs you missed and then do all the ones you did do in alternate ways. Be loud where you were quiet, quiet where you were loud. There’s always more than one way.
I've been playing Fallout since it first released long ago in the 20th century. It's so heartening and uplifting to hear you encountering, and enjoying, the game for the first time. Thank you so much for sharing your experiences.
this is absolutely one of my fav games ever. good atmosphere, great character writing, unique combat, and just overall a lot explore. the ending is prob one lf my favorite endings too, it's just the perfect tragic ending because the overseer has a point; the vault ends up rebelling against the overseer anyway and follows the vault dweller into the wastes because he's become a hero, an idol, but more of that in the second game which is an amazing sequel
@@kel_ski perfect timing, absolutely 👍🏻 And I enjoyed it immensely and I can't wait for more content, either on Fallout 1, or some of the other games, heck I'd probably watch you play Microsoft Pinball. Can't wait to see your channel grow!
I recently found out that I had gotten the first 2 Fallout games, FO Tactics, and New Vegas on Epic for free a while ago. I just finished FO1 and found this. Glad to know other people are just now experiencing the first game!
the first video made me a fan of your channel and I binged a lot of ur videos. I never even played any Fallout game and I still enjoyed these. Much love
if you have the bloody mess perk you kill the overseer. i think it also happens if you have low enough karma, and the wiki agrees. supposedly you can manually do it too.
You didn’t die from having your stats hitting zero, you died from radiation sickness. The rad-x you took obliviously has a time limit on it but anything that makes your screen fade to black causes time to pass.
I've managed to create a situation (Skulls) whereby Ian & Dogmeat have been killed multiple times. I'm guessing I'm early. Decided to go on a Hub caravan instead 😄 thank you, save system ✅
I started with the originals, but my husband's first Fallout was 3. He saw me playing NV in third person one day and asked how I can see any items against the outdated textures and graphics. I told him to download the originals. After about two hours, he rage quit Fallout 1. Eventually he played through Tactics, and 2-- with some patches-- but he refuses to go back to 1, which is a bit disappointing but also kind of hilarious.
You should try the restoration mod. It fills a few plot holes, such as the BOS training for a non existent attack. And it makes your actions have a bit more consequences to the map overall. It also restores broken or missing endings to the game
Thanks for the video, keep up the good work! You manage to make these videos entertaining in a way that I rarely see, with well placed edits and clear explanations of what is going on.
19:19 in fallout 2 there is a bridge keeper if you kill him you can loot his robe which has the same stats as combat armor but weight half as much so a pretty decent armor
dude this video was so fucking funny and your editing is absolutely fucking killer please keep it up and you will hit your subscriber milestones in no time 👍👍
Man, the companions in this game made such a great team. They saved my ass many times in the beginning and they grew to me very much. Sadly they stood no chance against the super mutants in the endgame. As soon as you get the power armor the tides are completely turned and your companions are only side kicks at this time. But it adds very much to the lonely feeling of the game. Not many games have that great atmosphere like Fallout 1.
It's a great game, and all the more impressive given that Interplay was a pain during the entire process. Same for Fallout 2. An absolute classic, that was given the least amount of time to cook. Still an all-time classic. Both deserved a proper remaster, implementing convenient features (better inventory UX for one), bug fixes and quality of life features (Pretty much just Fallout 2 gameplay in 1).
As described in the Armor Class and Luck chapter, yeah this game has beautiful mechanics like that. Thus I go with Vault Suit only, 10 AGI, 10 Luck and Jinxed. The rest of the stats is arbitrary. That's how I prefer to play my Fallout 1 after playing it for 20 years. And every fight is a beautiful mess. You focus on etting as high AC as possible through agility and perks (sometimes even skipping your turn entirely to get that sweet sweet AC as with Jinxed the best way to play is not to play at all, meaning that enemies kill themselves by misfires and critical misses) and just dumb luck your way through the wasteland. Also the upper lip brace on mutants is because their upper lip grows way too much during the mutation so they used this brace to be able to speak and eat. Basically an artist made that choice.
Holy crapola, this one was well worth the wait. Excellent work on yet another Kelski W. (In other notes, if you do love rpgs and voice acting, undertale might be a fun game for you on or off stream.)

@@thestitchpunkofgloomsville3858 ah, thats why she has a talking face..
I recently played fallout 1 too and all I have to say is.
>you target raider's eyes for 95% accuracy
>you missed
>you were critically hit hit for 93 damage, bypassing your armor
Pain
This entire video was like watching a damn movie. The drama, the twists, the epic combat, the betrayles, the grief, truly emotional.
I’m so happy with how it came out
@@kel_ski you did a damn good job mate. You absolutely cooked. 😎
Kelswol: gets a hit by a gun while the chances are -17%
Also kelswol: literally misses a 100% melee attack
Also kelswol: dies cuz of a rat while wearing a power armor
gaming
I'm glad to see that even in Fallout 1 Dogmeat has the IQ of a rotting rat and will still block doors for no damn reason
Kelski: "I never, ever, get soft locked in games"
Me: so you're going to load a previous save?
Kelski: "Cheats. I had to spawn myself medicine"
Me: *Surprised Pikachu*
I also had no spare saves to go back to because all 3 of my variants were all after I took the meds 💀
I bought this game this week because I love the TV series. This is my first exposure to Fallout games. I was frustrated with the UI and controls and decided not to play the game for a day. Got back to it and finished yesterday. A classic video game masterpiece that modern ones should look up to and emulate.
14:14 - 15:14 is actually really funny
This bit had me laughing for some good time, i had to replay it
Kelski, I think you really outdid yourself this time. It has been months since I found a TH-cam video this entertaining. I’m not saying the videos you released in the last several months were not entertaining, I’m saying that this video raised the bar. I was really excited for this video and it definitely did not disappoint.
Thank you Hoovy :^) so glad people like this one so much. I’m super proud of the end product. I’m glad you enjoyed it man 🫡
Great video mate.
Fyi there are actually 3 methods to defeat the master.
1) your method - straight out killing him
2) secretly arming the nuke in the basement and running away
3) convincing The Master by finding the evidence that all super mutants are sterile and cannot reproduce. Then he accepts the fact all of his work was in vain and kills himself.
Fallout indeed is remarkably advanced game for its time.
1:49 *Bro couldn't handle the Code Kelski G-Fuel* 💀💀💀
Thank god you ran in the end, because I first played this around the time the show came out. And I ended up getting stuck in a spot where I was feet away and didn’t have time to get to safety. My last save was a good while prior, and having to go back hurt my soul
Aren't there a ton of chems in the lockers at The Glow specifically to avoid issues?
Pretty sure there's like 2 rad x in lvl 4.
There was! Butttt, my character was also dying because I took like… 3-4 mentats all at once, so my Intelligence kept hitting zero 💀
@@kel_ski You sure it wasn't the radiation? Cause you playing chess with the computer also passes time, which will make Rad-X wear off eventually. And when you hit 1000 rads, you die in a day unless you make it go lower.
@@arshiaaghaei yup! Chat and I even double checked with the Geiger Counter. The problem was solved once I took more mentats, not more Rad medicine lol
Trust me, we tried everything, including taking the Rad medicine right before leavinf
Banger video, cant wait for the Fallout 2 video!
Glad to wee you finish Fallout 1 for the same reason I did - just wanted to pay respects to where it all started. Excited to see you continue the series! Im finishing New Vegas for the first time myself.
dude i am crying over the f ing decker introduction, sooooo gooooood
Just came back from fishing i didnt catch any fish but 45 mins of kelski content is just enough
Fishing is can just about the experience sometimes
@@kel_ski thats very wise kelman
Injecting your companions with a heavy dose of dru-- I mean, battle stimulants is a good way of keeping them alive in vanilla FO1. Somehow I managed to keep the entire party together on my first play years ago without mods.
This was such a fun video. Tycho's sacrifice was so worth it 🙏🏼 I loved the coked up wizard playthrough
Thanks for watching! I’m pretty sure I’ve seen you in the live streams too so thanks for all the support 🙏
The editing and the memes are so fcking god tier. Never stop cooking like this kelski
Thanks for a very entertaining trip down memory lane circa 2002 for me.
We should also call out the music from Mark Morgan and how good it is.
Our glorious father gifts us with yet another upload
🙏
Dude I was literally just sitting here hoping for this very upload! Thanks brother, your content is fucking mint.
Great timing I guess haha, thanks for the nice comment brotha 🤝 hope it was enjoyable!
@@kel_ski perfect timing, absolutely 👍🏻 And I enjoyed it immensely and I can't wait for more content, either on Fallout 1, or some of the other games, heck I'd probably watch you play Microsoft Pinball.
Can't wait to see your channel grow!
the cuts between each topic got me bustin' a move, love your vids
I recently found out that I had gotten the first 2 Fallout games, FO Tactics, and New Vegas on Epic for free a while ago. I just finished FO1 and found this. Glad to know other people are just now experiencing the first game!
The intro was gold 👌🏿
After looking first part i think your just easy dude who will throw up next playtrough. But you really did it. Real OG. Much respect
Babe wake up new Kelsi video just dropped
I ain't fixing that mistake
What a game, you made it super entertaining with how it went. Loved the funny companion twists, cant wait for more vids!
1 minute in and I can tell kelski COOKED
Lemme know I still cooked after the end 🫡
@@kel_skiAbsolute cinema
the first video made me a fan of your channel and I binged a lot of ur videos. I never even played any Fallout game and I still enjoyed these. Much love
if you have the bloody mess perk you kill the overseer. i think it also happens if you have low enough karma, and the wiki agrees. supposedly you can manually do it too.
Beautiful intro
that's all I gotta say really
Oh my god I was crying at the clip of Ian killing Tycho. This is such a fucking good video
Loving the fallout content man, my favorite stuff is always the hard cut to death screen its sooo good
Inside the used car salesman shed is the Red Ryder LE BB Gun. Use vats and aim for the eyes of a deathclaw.
Play the Fallout 1 Scrapheap Demo
You didn’t die from having your stats hitting zero, you died from radiation sickness. The rad-x you took obliviously has a time limit on it but anything that makes your screen fade to black causes time to pass.
"You missed." good video bro thanks Kelski, very cool 😌👌🏻
0:27 aint no way he killin that rat
this makes me so mad that this has only 93k views it deserves just as much as the first fallout game
Going back to and completing the OG Fallout games? Another Kelski W.
This dude is quickly becoming one of my favorite creators on TH-cam, his edits/videos fucking kill me every time
More Kelski content! With godlike editing! Very nice
I've managed to create a situation (Skulls) whereby Ian & Dogmeat have been killed multiple times. I'm guessing I'm early. Decided to go on a Hub caravan instead 😄 thank you, save system ✅
Wooo new kelski video lets goo
Those cutscenes are so good for their time
First fallout is a masterpiece
HE FOUND THE CHIP
12:36 hearing a mutant with that voice fucking killed me
Thanks for the video, keep up the good work! You manage to make these videos entertaining in a way that I rarely see, with well placed edits and clear explanations of what is going on.
Dude... the editing just gets better and better each month, its crazy
I cant wait for the Fallout 2 video now
27:49 The hell is the TARDIS doing in this game? That one caught me off guard lmao.
19:19 in fallout 2 there is a bridge keeper if you kill him you can loot his robe which has the same stats as combat armor but weight half as much so a pretty decent armor
Tip for dog owners: make sure you have a unique collar so you don’t kill them with the other ones 😊😊❤
this is gold. LOVE YOUR VIDEO *subscribed*
dude this video was so fucking funny and your editing is absolutely fucking killer please keep it up and you will hit your subscriber milestones in no time 👍👍
finaly its time for kelski to shine bright again after 18 years of fallout 1 streams
That first edit deserves a grammy
Bro my wi-fi was acting up while watching this a youtube reverted to 144p and I didn't see a difference, got to love games like that.
Play underrail, you gonna love it, it's a spiritual successor to Fallouts 1 and 2
If you use the F keys you can see that in F1 you get a manual and it shows you can save and load by F6 and F7
Your not alone w the robes, I’ve seen countless players use those robes the entire game.
Or put them in the Fallout 4 engine with New Vegas Mechanics and Stats
Basically an artist made that choice.
the intro is amazing
Love you Kelski, its always fun to watch you playing games. And your Video are great and entertaining.
YES!!! More Fallout 1 videos from you! Best night ever
The master is legit one of the best villains in fallout
Holy crapola, this one was well worth the wait. Excellent work on yet another Kelski W. (In other notes, if you do love rpgs and voice acting, undertale might be a fun game for you on or off stream.)
Can't wait to see his reaction to Goris
