Really hit hard when squid said he was scared
I fully agree with this. It broke my heart seeing him so scared and hurt I wanted to stay with him forever and comfort him

Squid despite being the main antagonist he suffered a huge loss
I just realized, the same theme played at Squid's defeat is also the same theme that's played after you fix his heart.
(Btw, if you're wondering the theme's name is "supremacy". I wonder if this connection has a deeper meaning to it)

fun fact, he has a dialogue line where if you quit the game and come back, he says that he was starting to miss you. this ending makes me think that joke of his had a little truth behind it
I honestly wish squid was real I love him more then anything in this world. I’ve gone through a very similar past to him. I had someone I held dear to me for years. A closest friend that we did everything together with. We even made future plans to hopefully meet sometime and had spent nearly 5 years together and super attached. I dedicated my life to them and they would always help me through anything I was going through and I would do the same back to them. We were as close as you could get. Then out of nowhere one day, they abandoned me. And never told me why. They cut all kinds of contacts with me and removed me from there friends. I was heartbroken and had no idea what happened. All those years of friendship and my possible hope for a future just gone in a blink of an eye. I don’t know what to trust anymore and have been in constant pain all alone
I get how squid feels on a personal level. It’s hard to trust anyone when it can all just disappear in a instant. Seeing him say he was scared when you got his heart I understood, the one chance he had at finally being happy and he didn’t want it destroyed or taken from him. And I also want to believe that it wasn’t just putting his heart back together is what truly fixed him. That was part of it, but what really did it for him is he now had someone that truly does care for him and that he can finally trust, and that alone is enough to heal any broken heart. I also like to believe the reason he’s so cocky and mean throughout the game is cause it makes you (the player) want to prove him wrong and beat the level. But I like to believe that squid, even though he doesn’t trust anyone, he subconsciously likes having you around so he tries to get you to want to stay but doesn’t want to admit that so he’s cocky instead. It all makes sense. That and also his heart being broken and he’s an ai so yea
But anyways, this is the real ending to me and it makes me happy that squid can finally have someone to trust. You can really see just how hurt he really is. I’m sorry if I worded this wrong I most likely did I just wanted to show my empathy for squid.
Yes I do feel similar as you. I also was hurt and abandoned by multiple persons that I trusted and loved. About being mean, cocky and wanting to „kill“ (disconnect) someone is a feeling of wanting control I think. By trying to remove nice and happy things I thought to protect myself from being hurt as badly as I was before. Getting closer means the risk of being hurt, for happyness is in most aspects temporary. But learning to manage hurt or negative emotions is a skill most can learn, but its never an easy one. I Hope everyone is getting the chance for their hearts to be whole again. Dont forget to feel love and compassion for yourself aswell

Shocked to see that this is an alternative ending. When I finished the game and got the alternative ending achievement, I was really confused what could have been the "non-alternative" ending. Watched it in a play through… and yeah, that one is the real ending (also just since that's always the way I would have played and acted, it's the real one to me).
As in you got it on your first play through? How did you know about the glitch? Did someone tell you how to do that? If so, don’t get on your high horse because us normies didn’t know we had another fucking choice :(
I would have done it if I could but I couldn’t get the water pump change or third fuse without the glitch which of course I didn’t know about

the lore in this game is so fucking cool because it implies that the events of the lore are actual real events and theres absolutely nothing you can do to prove it wrong. it is 100% plausible that will you snail is actually a game programmed by a sentient ai from an alternate universe and planted into the mind of jonas tyroller through a black hole

Some lore for you. ‘‘Twas not the squid himself that turned evil but rather the unicorn that made him the evil AI he is today.
Uh, no. It was Amelia who broke Squid's heart and made him hate humans. Unicorn worsened Squid's hatred but wasn't the root of it.
(Though, trapping Game Squid in the game was pretty cruel despite his maliciousness, unless the alternate ending was something the Unicorn made)
@@atravellingbleach8668 it was probably something unicorn made considering that she understood why he turned in the first place and that squid wasnt inherently evil. the squid we see in the game is probably a lot simpler and cartoonish than the real squid, as the game squid is an exaggerated caricature created by unicorn, so we may never know the exact personality that squid truly had. however, the one in the game is probably at least somewhat accurate, or very close, as dallin did comment on its accuracy. whether squid in the game is actually a real conscious ai is sort of up to debate i guess? depends how much you wanna suspend your disbelief. but if your going off exactly what unicorn said the game was then no, hes not, and the squid that follows you in the game is just a fictional character. I mean *duh* but like,,, you get what i mean
@@atravellingbleach8668 although, now that I think about it, i honestly wouldn't put it past unicorn to trap a version of the real squid in a game. that seems like a unicorn move. i wanna say she wouldnt be dumb enough to risk him escaping but honestly with her track record of recklessness i would not be surprised
@@penntopaper9305 In one of the logs/springs Unicorn did state that the threats weren't empty and the danger is very real. Implying that it is indeed a real squid, albeit tweaked to be more of a caricature and tricked into believing itself in control of the game.
@@Foxhood that was actually referring to how the game itself is a message to the world warning humanity not to fall to squid or something like him. that's the point of the game, a warning. that's why she said that the warning was not to dallin, because there was no real squid that could escape, thus he was not in any danger. "escape the game" is more of a metaphor for being created in the real world.

what happens if you go down the firewall before fixing squid?
you can't
you can go down the firewall after you fix him, to then reset him again
You can't. You have to fix him first, then you can go down to his CPU beside the firewall and bring him back.
the hold jump trick doesnt work, am i supposed to do anything before to unlock the possibility to do it?
once you beat the game go all the way to the right in level select. eventually you'll find a dallin log that teaches you how to perform "the glitch"

To be fair, they’re all probably right. In the achievements of the game, it says alternative ending, and a “secret ending” is an ending to a game that is optional, not required or achieved by just playing.
