I haven't had the chance to play it yet, but I'm cautiously optimistic. They've needed to make these kinds of changes to the maps for a long time, since there are so many static map designs that play out the same way every time. If the random events open up new flanking routes like the ramp on Himmelsdorf, then I love that. But if every random event is an excuse to remove bushes and create chest high walls for heavy tanks to go hull down, that's garbage. They need to benefit ALL the classes, not just hull down meta tanks.
Maybe we need a bit of the inverse, and for events to get rid of cover or give heavies rude awakenings in very tight maps. Every map should give every class an opportunity to shine, after all. Malinovka has a tendency to be too campy and it seems like good use of this feature though.
Are you delusional or just haven't played the game? HTs have been in meta for ages as they are getting faster (BZ, VZ55 etc) as well as the maps being changed to only benefit HTs, just look at Mountain Pass and Studzianki. Also every new map is just corridors and HTs benefit from that (Outpost and Oyster Bay)@@TehButterflyEffect
I 100% agree with you mate, WG seems to only make new changes that help HTs which is lazy and frustrating since LTs and paper tanks have been getting screwed over with every single new map and map change.
I was waiting long time for them to ruin Prohorovka for spoters, since bots cant use bush mechanics. With last patch they ruined Studzianki as well, which was pretty good spoting map, now its much easier to go in central ditch, as they blocked line of fire with central building changes and adding easy way for hull down play on the south.
They all fine but I'd love to see more like: approaching tornado on Highway destroying part of the city, tsunami on some asian map, and for example some earthquakes that cracks terrain. Hope they will make it into the game soon
As short as games are lately, most people may never see a random event even when activated... they really need to fix mm and address the incredibly short gameplay. But whatever.
no the events happend in the middle of the map , the camping bot on the redline wont be affected and he doesnt even need to move , meanwhile the event will happened right on to of the players that actually play the game i cant waif to have an amazing game , only for a falling zeppelin to force me to leave my hull down position
I can totally relate to Skill laughing at the fact that if you are in the danger zone, your tank might be destroyed... or not. It would be nice to have this feature but without RNG please. Everything else is very interesting and truly gives a refreshing update to the affected maps, however, I would also love to see completely new maps or even older ones being added again.
Honestly - I would prefer fixes to bigger problems like MM and unbalanced maps as it gets bigger and bigger problem lately in my games. But since it can be disabled, I do not see any problem with it - maybe the only one I can potentially see is that it is basically just another form of help to armored tanks. So I will most likely use this when playing with armored tanks, otherwise I think I will have it disabled, no big deal.
i swear to you skill i Thought about this these days when i watched planes crash at the start of the battle..."what if, that would be epic" and here it is!!! i am hyped
like destroying the gravel dunes on Pilsen to make an open field with bushes, destroying the south city in Studzianki, a wind storm that brings shrubs for cover in El Halluf/airfield/ghost town/sand river.
I played with these changes in the Recon missions, and they actually took some things out on Safe Haven and Prokorhovka. In Safe Haven, they had the plane crashing into the tunnel entrance AND a ship destroying the northern dock passage, so it forced only a the two narrow corridors in the north but kept south wide open. Prokorhovka had two planes, but it was one on each side... left "magic forest" road and the right side hill. Actually, I'm kind of glad they moved the second plane on that one, because digging those entrenched tanks off of the hill was a bigger pain in the *** than it was before, if you can imagine that. Overall, I think it will be a good change to the game. The events were super fun and interesting. It allowed for some very troll moments if you pushed an enemy into the danger zone and stayed out of it. These events are going to be solid.
I hope the trains, crashing planes, walls, etc, uses physics for the damage so you don't comically blow up if they grace you while they are already stopping.
Seems like it could be really fun. I'm glad they gave us an option to choose. Unfortunately, that means you can't enjoy those select maps without risk of running into a random event. I'd rather they add back older maps that were really fun (the larger ones especially - don't have the names off the top of my head).
Heres a few things....Random maybe interesting, but after 100 games you will know whats gonna happen and for lights you know where to sit to not get hit etc, so its going to get boring after a while. Another thing that bothers me is the enabling and disabling. Its deviding the Players into 2 Sections, which will effect the MM. The MM will have to match those that have it enabled with others who have it disabled as well. Otherwise you can get unlucky and never see this feature, because you keep getting matched with players who have it disabled. If the MM ignores this it just takes 1 Person to have it disabled, to block the experience for the rest. The funniest thing is that they are trying to fix maps this way so that people play it more. All of those maps have either got a balancing Problem or other issues, which makes players not like them. Himmelsdorf is the best example. For me this does not change anything. I will still ban those maps, because those Events dont change anything. Its just more rubble lying around on maps that are already flooded. Its just a poor effort to take away the focus on thier disability to fix this game.
Hi Skiiiillll, over the years dezgamez has featured like 12-15ish new ''leaked maps'' on his channel. Also think about all the recon missions gamemodes we have had. Like at least 3 times with 3 maps, meaning 9 new maps for sure. Wonder when we get to see them. Recon missions was legit one of the best additions to the game when it was introduced. Why WG do not feature the gamemode like once every 2-3 months? Its beyond me. Good stuff tho. Excited to see how the meta will evolve around those random events.
Yesterday in Himmelsdorf and in ...hu proporofka ? I was surprised to see theses random event effects. No one expressed astonishment in the chat. I've tried to strike up a conversation about it... " Wouldn't anyone have heard a noise by chance?" no response ! 💤
This will be a good change and I like the implementation of it! Really appreciated that they kept things TOTALLY random on both a will-they-won't they basis as well as deployment times.
Looks awesome to me. I kind of wish that they would just have a random event happen at the very start that would slightly change the map dynamics and not harm any tanks rather than during the battle though.
I would definitely accept if they changed these random events in such a way that the lighting of the map would change due to the weather. I would also accept that it would randomly start to rain and the tanks would go worse on a soft surface and on the asphalt they would slide like on ice. Also, if they added the night itself to the game, as an event, it would be nice. They don't always have to, but let the player get a night for 1/10 of the games.
I like that they've added these events and hope they add more, but I also hope they add new maps and rebalance the current ones. 14% win difference on Mountain Pass is just pitiful, that map literally has a winning spawn now.
I can't wait and is a welcomed change, it is not mandatory to add new maps, perfect the ones you already own and make them better. Again very excited to try them
Random events are going to be a good thing in my opinion! I think they are going to be used to break stalemates that we often face on these maps as we are getting closer to mid/end game (as long as it isn’t a 5-15 simulator). Excited to see what maps and random events they change/add in the future! I would not be opposed to a majority of the maps having a random event.
I don't think neither Ruinberg, Himmelsdorf or Safe Heaven needed any dynamic changes as all of those map are "dynamic" enough. Also, random event on Safe Heaven is kinda pathetic and doesn't do much. They should've put it on El Halluf, Karelia and Paris. Also, I wonder if they timed those events with game progression (I guess probably not) because who cares if event is incoming if game is already over (looking at you 15:5 simulators).
@@ThePlayingDutchman I guess one difference is that you can see through bushes whereas aluminum and dirigible fabric probably is harder to do that though I suppose there'll be quite a few rips and cracks. So It's somewhere between a heavy bush and a destructible wall. But hell, as long as it's the same model for both sides it doesn't really matter. I do love the game which is mainly composed of momentumless pixels so they can pretty much do anything as long as it's consistent for both sides and, of course, blows up good.
That's what I need, trying to pay attention to enemy tanks, getting ready to take a shot and BOOM !!!!! a fireball gets my attention and I am the one that gets shot. No thank you WG!!!
Best modification to the test server is that random events can happen OR NOT!!!! What I learned on the test server was that people where static waiting for the vents to rush in to get the new positions. In my feedback I noticed exactly that. They should happen or not! that makes them really worth to be added. Thank you WG for once you listen to player :-)
I was looking forward to this since I got the chance to play it in the recon missions. There was only one thing I remember not really liking, and that was the dynamic cover (the blocks of concrete that you could destroy with 3 shots), and I am very happy to not hear Wargaming mentioning anything about those in the video. I really like all the changes on the maps (especially those on the heavy-side of Ruinberg), except for the plane crashing into the bunker on Safe Haven, because that doesn't really add anything gameplay-wise, it only takes away, as the heavies just get locked into their positions below the bunker (if they pushed forward) and then they don't really have a way to escape anymore. WG's argument that this reduces crossfire in that specific area mentioned in the video is kinda invalid, because the camping TDs on A1 and B0 will still have clean shots on anybody trying to progress through that area. I would have liked it a lot better if there was a planecrash happening on the other side of the bunker, so that the mediums, if they manage to take the middle of the field, don't have a crossfire on the heavies playing below the bunker anymore. But yeah, that's the only thing that rubs me the wrong way a little bit; other than that, I am really excited for this update. For now, this seems like a rare Wargaming W.
I think the variety is definitely good for these maps because everyone already knows the positions, where to go, what to do, what you can do and thus randomly changes the environment, I think it's a good thing
I think this will create more creative opportunities to play some of the same old maps in a new ways. Breaks up the predictable ways we have played these maps for years.

About the possibility to filter it, it will be a bad thing for less populated servers, because the MM will struggle to form a battle. But... this is the problem for the less populated servers (in my case, SA server). But I'm enjoying the randomness of those events, during the battle. It may even change the result of the battle. I'm saying about the map, and not about the powercreep of some recently introduced vehicles. Those things are taking out some of the fun, not the maps. And I'm still waiting for the night battles to come. And we want more Grand Battles on the rotation! Can we have Grand Battles on tier 8, also? And/or tier 6? Why only tier 10?
This could be epic. I left the game 8 months ago but might just come back for a try. Random changes to maps is needed...if these will indeed affect the game. But if the "random events" result in the same changes to each nap then it's meh. If each random event could have 3, 4 or 5 different configurations that would really open it up. Train doesn't crash the same way, bombs knock down different buildings, making new pathways and piles of rubble etc.
I think there is going to come more. Because all these events accelerate the game. They make a difficult situation go away. And here I thought the game was already too accelerated. Maybe there will be Random events in the future, like a bombing strike that takes away cover and makes a game less easy to progress. For example it destorys a building block on Siegfried line, opening the city to TY crossfire and thus forcing the HT to retreat.
They have made prok unbalanced for lights. Northern spawn still gets the magic bush but Southern spawn koses the ability to advance using the bushes next tot the road.
It looks promising and really would improve gameplay, but i think the countdown is too much. Maybe only warning smoke at best, it is not random if you get countdown till the plane crashes on you
They should introduce random bush and rock formation in maps, Every time a match is played the map features should change avoiding camping. We need dynamic maps that change every match randomly
"This is absolutely glorious". Only if you drive a high mobility tank like a light or a medium. Certainly not if you drive a TD. I dislike how WG focusses on theatrical aspects of the game but there is still such a thing as ghost shells, not to mention being totally depending on good or bad RNG. "If it looks good it sells".
Now they need to change how map blocking works for Encounter and Assault / Defense. Currently if you block a map it only blocks the standard variant not the others. Do love the random events, it spices up the gameplay.
WG once again didn't fail to make an epic video with an epic soundtrack, presenting a coming changes. I can't wait to experience the random events in battles.
Battlefield 4: World of Tanks. In all seriousness, the evolving Battlefield events in BF4 did make the gameplay unique and it did indeed encourage movement through the map.
When you said...if you happened to be in the danger zone, you might be destroyed or, not!!.. depends on RNG # WOT+...I nearly choked while laughing 😂😂..
I hope it'll happen in a balanced manner though. I get the "random" battles aspect but take for example that passage the himmelsdorf zeppelin creates into the heavy flank from the hill, does this happen on both heavy flanks or only on the south spawn? Randomize maps but don't randomize balance any more, it's a competitive game still.
This is amazing. Finally some (hidden) changes to the maps. Especially the Himmelsdorf is just bananas! I want these changes on every map. This should make more creativity in a game.
I played a few battles when this was included in Recon mode. It looks interesting and will break up some of the choke points, I hope. Let's see how they actually implement it.

I love it even now!
What happened to the boat crash on safe haven?
I think there is going to come more. Because all these events accelerate the game. They make a difficult situation go away.
And here I thought the game was already too accelerated.
Maybe there will be Random events in the future, like a bombing strike that takes away cover and makes a game less easy to progress.
For example it destorys a building block on Siegfried line, opening the city to TY crossfire and thus forcing the HT to retreat.
They have made prok unbalanced for lights. Northern spawn still gets the magic bush but Southern spawn koses the ability to advance using the bushes next tot the road.
We can simply disable it whenever we play with a light tank only to get more use.
This is actually very good
It looks promising and really would improve gameplay, but i think the countdown is too much. Maybe only warning smoke at best, it is not random if you get countdown till the plane crashes on you
wasn't safe haven suppose to have a ship crashing into the boathouse also?
I havent figured the old configuration out.
They should introduce random bush and rock formation in maps, Every time a match is played the map features should change avoiding camping.
We need dynamic maps that change every match randomly
I think excluding them means, you will not be put on any version of those maps, meaning for example never playing Prokhorovka.
I cant wait for these, normal boring prok games could turn into something really fun
Looks to be awesome
I think this could be glorious!
Answer is simply. We want night battles!
I am a visual geek and that just looks so awesome. Refreshing to see new content for the game like this!
Looking forward to this, didn't try it during the recon phase .. mostly to not spoil the experience;
WG once again didn't fail to make an epic video with an epic soundtrack, presenting a coming changes. I can't wait to experience the random events in battles.
looks glorious I like it and will play it
Battlefield 4: World of Tanks.
All we need is balancing, MM and maps. Junk like this is not needed or requested.
Don't tell wg to balance the maps. They'll create more corridor, dips and hulldowns.
Very nice. Now also time of day and weather. And +-1 match making 😊
I played a few battles when this was included in Recon mode. It looks interesting and will break up some of the choke points, I hope. Let's see how they actually implement it.
