Just watched this again for the first time in years and am shaking my head at the pure quality of it. That this was done in one take is almost unbelievable. A pure masterclass in comedy monologue, but such a lesson in subtlety and sadness as well. So many themes and emotions are crammed into the five minutes it’s hard to unpack them all. How does the performer makes us both pine for and revile at the things he describes. Perhaps because each of us was once a member of his party, and in a way the story involves us all. How melancholy is the feeling of these years drifting away beneath the bridge of life.
Lmao wtf. Calm down bro. " A pure masterclass in comedy monologue " hahaha. He's doing a really poor rip off of Ricky Gervais' creation. The shtick is "I'm a really cringey person that you love to hate with strong undertones of sadness" ala, David Brent from the office.

I mentioned Thomas James Gray at my high school reunion, as we all loved Tom's channel back when we were at school. Everyone still remembered it, 10 years on. Thank you Tom for 10 years of laughs! From Sydney Australia
I think we can all identify with the character Thomas plays; either in people we know or ourselves. His delusional view of himself is what keeps him upbeat and positive, regardless of the variety of hopeless situations he finds himself in. Very clever and well executed piece of self deprecating comedy. Have seen a few of Thomas' videos and often seen comments like 'Why hasn't he got his own TV show' In a selfish way I'm glad he hasn't as no doubt the very essence would be lost by 'big production influence' The low budget static camera phone and 4-6 minute monologue wouldn't be right for TV but fits in perfectly with what Thomas does here.
Anyone else watching this during the COVID-19 quarantine of 2020? Wish I could be out having a belter of a weekend like this with my own cohort of lads. I miss having it large.
