The problem with the run is that we prioritize the pass defense by playing nickel defense. Only two lb not enough to contain and take on guards blocking. The extra db is too small to take on point of attack without blitzing.
The sad reality of it is that we suck so bad that I dont think we need (or ever should tank). We will be a bottom tier team again this season. Even though the Raiders will try to win. MISTAKE#1 : The "emotional" pick of making AP the HC. MISTAKE#2: Making Getsy OC. MISTAKE#3: Not aggressively trying to get a top tier QB. MISTAKE#4: Not using cap money to seek out free agents to fill the holes in our team. These are 4 major mistakes that would take ALOT from a good team to overcome. AND we are not a good team.
No we definitely should tank if we want a top 2 quarterback. I've heard your sentiments every year from different people it's always wrong if you want the top picks you have to sacrifice.
Defense played with heart and good enough to win. Obviously they can improve but they’ve suffered from so many injuries and are still playing with pride. Then you have Gardner and Luke combo. It’s a bonus for the opposing team anytime he steps on the field. Minshew gives them the game every time he’s out there. We ain’t tanking but we’ll lose every game he plays so it works out for us I guess…
We aren't winning because we don't have Adams or Jacobs. We are losing because we don't have a QB that can throw an accurate pass. If we tanked last season we would be in a much better position at QB than we are today.

Its so annoying. For the longest time we had a bad defense and a competent QB. I'd say good QB (people can fight me over this). Now, we have a good defense and all we need is a competent QB and we could make a deep play off run. And you cant even blame Getsy (at least his scheme and play-calling, maybe his QB development). I know i saw a bunch of plays where Tucker is getting open and its being forced into triple coverage to bowers, or being under thrown. I think the most frustrating thing is you see flashes of Minshew where he panics (even when he shouldn't) but he runs and picks up a first down. Then you see the flashes where he panics and escapes the pocket to be sacked for a loss, or a penatly, or pick.
The Raiders better seriously address this offensive line because Tom Brady in his prime couldn’t quick release his way out of trouble behind these traffic cones. JPJ, Miller, and Parham along with a longer leash for Mumford and Glaze can stay but it’s time to flush the rest of those guys. 25M in cap space so we can flirt with a 2-4 win season. Telesco better bail this or AP will have had a hand in getting him fired twice.
I think we're getting close to Carter Bradley time. Aidan hasn't been as abysmal as Minshew, but he hasn't been as good as he was last year either. But no one is going to look good with the O-line playing like they are. They just don't have the time to let our burners get loose downfield. Bowers has been spectacular, but he can't be the whole offense.

Stating Obvious: Honestly just venting. O-Line needs to get depth or coaching resolved. The O-line is so bad, our QB's are playing scared. Their making every opposing defensive lineman look like Max Crosby is chasing down the QB looking for a 187 case. Offensive Coach playbook is weak. Other defenses can just blitz every play (a little sarcasm). H.C. doesn't have the faintest idea on how to manage a game at any level from 2-minute warning time outs, challenging B.S. calls that could help us, half-time adjustments, etc. I hate conceiving the idea cause I said otherwise on someone else's post yesterday, but I'd be willing to grab Belicheck (It's that bad in my mind). He'd be able to tweak it just enough for us to win the games we should of won this season. Our record with that guy would look closer to a 5-2 record. Even with a $hart O-line.
