First time I heard this, our 1sgt. didn't have time left in the march so it ended where this one does. The rest of the times we heard it, in the middle of the marches, it ended with something like:
"And every Spring, she put flowers on a gravestone
"And if you asked her why they hell she put them
"She put them for that young Marine so far- far away"
The whole song felt different after I heard that last one for the first time.
