Pro tip, become an annual member if you're local, you can see different parts of the zoos on different days without rushing. Usually 2 trips and you're already saving money plus it goes towards a great cause :)
As a Disney Imagine Magic Key holder, this video couldn’t have come at a better time. I’m about to be blocked off so I’ll be putting my zoo pass to use. Thank you!
Same as us. 😂 Well, Amy and the kids. I have a pass that will get me in all Summer. But I’ll be going to Disney during the week and on the weekends, we will be visiting places like Legoland, SeaWorld, and the Zoo.
If you had to choose between the San Diego Zoo & Safari Park, which would you choose?? And I know it's unlikely, but could you possibly do both in one day??
@@SparKlyStaRzBliNg very unlikely they are about 35 minutes away from each other and you would be rushing your day at each park. I prefer the zoo over the safari park.
Yay, thank you for going to my favorite zoo. This made my day. That bear cubs. I can't wait to see them. They will be 3 months old, but that's ok. I used the San Diego Zoo app, and it helped me out of the lost forest. Yes I got lost.
Great informative Video thank you! Haven't been since 2007 we saw the polar bears swimming which was so awesome. I really want to go to the Safari Park!
Don’t come on holidays Take a map even if you prefer the APP BUT the best help comes from the employees in red shirts who are there to help you get where you want to go without getting lost. Do bus tour as soon as you arrive :) your experience will be outstanding if you start here! Great summary of Bade Camp here :)
Anybody who lives in San Diego and want new Dreamworks animal led films with animals they see at San Diego Zoo, go apply for Dreamworks Animation Studio and convince them to make a subsidiary that will just produce animal led films and it will include previous films like Antz, Chicken Run, Spirit films, Shark Tale, Madagascar franchise films, Over the Hedge, Flushed Away, Bee Movie, Kung Fu Panda films, Turbo, and Bad Guys.
Here are films that should happen in the future: A film in West Africa that will include characters based on a Chimpanzee and a Hippopotamus. A Madagascar lemur solo film with a nice portrayed character based on a Fossa. A film in the Pacific Region with a Galapagos Tortoise character. Kung Fu Panda 5 with Po just serving as spiritual leader and teacher with Bao as an adolescent being the next Kung Fu Panda, then a great niece of Shifu, then a nice relative of Tai Lung and a Takin master. A film in East Africa with a female giraffe character. A film in Australia with a Koala character. A film in Maritime Southeast Asia with a character based on a Komodo Dragon. A Northeast Africa film with a lion as a spiritual wanderer. A film in Central Africa with an Okapi character. A film in the Arctic with a Polar Bear character. A film in Scandinavia with a Reindeer. A film in the Indian Subcontinent with a male Tiger.
Oh nooooo….now I don’t know what to do…I only have one unplanned day on my next trip, it was going to be Knott’s Berry Farm but now 🤔 not sure if I should make it a San Diego Zoo day.
@@SoCalDisneyDad thank you, we also love zoos and have never been this one so I guess we’re going. Thank you for the video, it was great as always. Just on a side note, your videos are helping me so much…planning a Disney trip can be so stressful but your videos have been a huge help. Thank you!
Thanks for the zoo tour. We went once when the kids were very young. They are now older teens. Do you think they would prefer this or Seaworld? I think probably Seaworld for the rides. What is traffic like on a Sunday coming from Disneyland to San Diego?
SeaWorld definitely has some good rides, but as more time goes on, it feels more and more run down. We are thinking about not renewing our SeaWorld passes next year. It really depends on whether they enjoy Zoos or not. If so, then go to the Zoo. It’s one of the best in the nation. Leave early, traffic isn’t bad in the morning. If you try driving down around Noon, it’ll be crazy backed up. Shouldn’t have too much trouble going North again. But there’s always major traffic Southbound due to a poor junction between CA 78 and I 5. If you get to the Zoo shortly after park opening, driving down around 8 AM shouldn’t be an issue.
No, you can’t take strollers on the bus tour. There is stroller parking at the entrance to the tour where you can collect your stroller after you get off. It picks you up and drops you off at roughly the same place. And as I responded in the other comment, the bus tour is a ride you stay on for the whole thing. So you wouldn’t be getting off halfway through and need your stroller.
From my research, options are limited, but almost every location has a gluten free menu. You’ll have to ask for it separately. It’s not posted on their main boards.
There are two busses. The one at the front of the park is a Bus Tour. You stay on for roughly 45 minutes. The other is called the Kangaroo bus, and that takes you to several stops around the Zoo. That one is hop on/hop off.
If giraffes are his favorite, have you ever been to the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo in Colorado Springs? They have, hands down, the BEST giraffe experience we’ve ever seen!
We have not. But he got to feed one pretty close for just a few bucks at the Columbus Zoo last summer. We visited Columbus and Omaha, the Zoos ranked #1 and 2 in the nation.
Tip 1 and 10 😍💯💯💯 i would also add a refillable water bottle without a straw and good comfy walking shoes cause those hills are no joke 😅

Nope. Nothing new. Just a beautiful day in San Diego to really brighten up the video. 😂

@@InTheLifeOfJeff Yeah, goes to show you how terribly gloomy it’s been on SoCal lately. 😂

I’d go to the Zoo over Knott’s any day. But I’m not a big fan of Knott’s.

Do u still recommend the bus tour if you have stroller? Is there a space for the stroller inside the bus?
