Water Lantern Festival 2024 - Hansen Dam Recreational Lake - Los Angeles - May 11, 2024

The Water Lantern Festival 2024 was held at the Hansen Dam Recreational Lake, and it was a magical experience to see all the lit lanterns!

Totally disappointing... No movement at all. A bunch of stuck lanterns lining the water's edge. Could have been beautiful, but each lantern was stuck right where it was launched. Way too expensive. LOUD pre-recorded 'meditation'. Good intentions, but not well executed. Must account for wind currents, but they did not. Meh at best. Wish it was better - Don't bother.

Your reasons are valid. They only allowed a specific section of the lake for the lantern release, so yes, the lanterns flowed only to the edge. It's understandable, because there are fish in the lake and it's easier for the staff to clean up. It was my first experience, and I enjoyed it.
