How to fix this problem for sure and permanently. All these stupid hard resets and Turing on and off settings has nothing to do with this issue. It because you dropped your phone or replaced your screen “or someone else did” and your ribbon cable connected to the back side of your phone where your hand holds it has come off or loose and isn’t snapped together properly. Focus first making sure the main ribbon cable is connected properly before looking into the front screen. Do yourselves a favor and stop searching around and guessing yourselves. Whenever there is a break in continuity it can cause heat and system failure.
I have the same problem, back camera not working (works at 2x, not at 1x), flashlight not working, and I want to ask - is the problem ONLY in the motherboard?
If I replace the motherboard entirely, would that fix the problem or do you think not?

Firstly, you can try to replace the rear camera and see if it helps;
If this doesn't help, troubleshoot the diode resistance of the rear camera connector;
Last but not the least, check the rear camera power supply
Most of the time it happens because of faulty or displaced camera voltage ic, u can simply connect the vcc to camera voltage connector. Good luck

There is always risk of it malfunctioning if you do the repair by doing shortcuts, or apples wonderful design.
I go to the so meny shops everyone ask me its not repair new one installed😕

Is there any solution like this for HTC U12+? Front camera and flashlight didn't work and main camera turns off related to this issue. I replaced the front camera and flashlight is working. But the front camera still has the same issue and main camera is not working properly. There is no official HTC Service centre in my country :(

what temp are you set at - always provide temp information?
Temp varies with air station but get the temp before the solder reaching its point and nick the component off with tweezers, careful with pads.
after i make this jumper my phone is dead.. any solution???

we suggest you to first replace the camera and see if it works, then troubleshoot the camera coonector diode resistance, and repair accordingly

hi can you check the rear camera connector resistance?
Try backing up your data, and restoring on itunes. If thats a no go then order a replacement for the rear camera and inspect general area while you are at it. Then restore.

HCQS hello i address the problem...i noticed that the plate that covers the camera conection is loose eventhough it is harldy screwed i tried to put some double sided tape so that it can help to press it then its now working any suggestion how to fix this i know this mwthod is just for a short period of time thanks

hey, so i have an iphone 7+ and my rear camera is blacked out but when i put it on zoomx2 or more it starts working again. and when i put it on zoom x1 it goes black again. please tell me if there is anyway to repair it
