    This is the first time I've come across a video that talks about how to use colour temperature for designing a painting thank you so much for putting this up

    I love all the colours you have used instead of just boring, old greys. I'd love to do this when painting buildings..I've not done these yet! Thank you, Liron, and stay safe...thinking of you.

    I really love this painting! The hard edges of the subject matter versus the play of warms and cools really bring what is a very cold landscape to life! Thank you!

    thank you so much for this video. I love how you achieve this warm lighting effect and the use of these colours in your pictures, they look so realistic even when they are low detail and now I know how you do it.
    I did not realise before that you did an underpainting using these colours, I don't think I have seen anyone use a multicolour underpainting before.
    Also how you explain your choices to enhance or downplay the colour warmth was really useful and made this a lot clearer to me. Thank you sooooooo much you are awesome.

    What a fabulous lesson. I’ll need to watch this several times and try it myself but your explanation and use of temperature and how you produce reflected light is just fantastic.

    This is my first time watching you, but I have to say - you are really good at teaching! I also love that you admit that you did some mistakes, but that you just have to embrace them - making mistakes is the main reason why I am at times terrified of painting, so hearing this and seeing that even someone as talented as you make mistakes is really uplifting!

    You sounded like you were under pressure but I get a sense of calmness. Almost of a good place to sit, to read while enjoying the day. Its very nice. Almost like you were kicking down the cobblestones and feeling groovy when you found that place and decided to sit a spell and let the world go by without you for a bit. Very nice.

    Hi I just came across you and so pleased I did. I watched several of your videos and found them very helpful for targeting many of the problems frustrating my painting. Plus overall you offer very practical tips/advice. This video with the steps was particularly useful, combining so many things eg colours being warm or cool, shadows, perspectives and really good at showing contrasts with using correct values. I have subscribed and will enjoy watching more.
    If I can be cheeky and ask for some topics for you to cover they would be as follows:
    -why do some of my paintings have what I think is called a 'fruit salad' appearance...the colours seem really unnatural, even when I think I have included shadows/contrast, they are also a bit flat so perhaps it is the values...welcome your thoughts.
    -artistic block, what to paint, is it better to simply doodle paint rather than agonize over coming up with a composition and should artists study a subject from a variety of styles?
    -Colour intensity, I notice that my paintings can appear faded, almost having a milky/transparent film sometimes. I admit to using a variety of paint which includes water colour of Daniel Smith grade down to what might be seen as kids paint. Is this the issue?
    -What do you think about mixed media? I sometimes use water colour with water colour pencils and/or crayons (soluble ones) along with water soluble markers and highlights/details at the end using pastels or regular pencils. I know that there are no rules if you are happy but I was curious what your opinion is.
    -Lastly, I would welcome advice on layering and alternating between layers or parts of a painting to allow it to dry or to re-wet the area. I have used spray bottles but sometimes find that the paper seems to be drying super quick no matter what I do (very frustrating) even though I am using 100% cotton paper.
    Thank you for sharing you knowledge, perhaps one day I might send a piece for your critique if I feel brave enough.

    Perspective: It seems to me that the gray area on the right is an incline-- not the same plane as the light area at the base of the stairs which is flat.. I guess it doesn't make much difference overall, just a little confusing.

    It was very helpful to me to know warm and cool area. Tnx a lot 🌹🦋 which kind of three main color is more usable in watercolor? For example ultramarine? Cobalt blue? Prussion blue? Helio blue? ... Which 3 in red, yellowand blue for loose watercolor?

    • @LironYan
      @LironYan  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Technically speaking, from the colors I personally use I found the most versatile is:
      Phthalo Blue (PB15)
      Quinacridone Rose (PV19)
      Lemon Yellow (PY175)
      This is close to a printer’s inks, and allows for a wide variations of colors and saturations.
      However, at the end of the day - the best color choice would be the one you personally love and are moved by (:

    Thank you very much Liron. When I chose this video there was a first picture that said ''Avoid This X'' what you just painting and ''Do That " with a Green Tick on another similar painting but not this......so I thought you were comparing two paintings and showing us what we should not do. But I wonder why you did what the first photo said ''Avoid This'' 😊 I was going to attach a photo to show you what I mean, but seems there is no option here to attach a photo.

      @egalitarianpenguin 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The thumbnails are a bit of a gimmick creators have to do in order for The Algorithm to suggest their videos to more people. In this case, the Avoid painting didn't have that colorful underpainting, so the photo-realistic color came out looking a little boring and flat, while the initial wash demonstrated in the video itself created a much stronger sense of light and contrast in the final painting.
