Imagine having created this masterpiece in 1999 and 25 years later some kids stand on a grassy hilltop in the UK and play it live. :D And I mean that in the best of ways. Awesome work OMA! Lovit!
@charleswrigley9488 That makes no sense. A drum machine doesn't change its timing for the rapper and neither would a live drummer. The other musicians all follow the drummer and the rapper raps to the beat. There's literally no difference aside from it sounding a whole lot better.
Dr.Dre needs to see this! Best tribute to the greatest album ever produced. Masterpiece from track 1 to 23, skits included. Only thing to top this performance would be having OMA perform this with Dre Em Snoop and whoever is still alive that was featured on the album.
I was 14 when this album dropped and I absolutely LOVED it! I had already been introduced to DJing through my older cousin's years prior. But this album inspired me to make beats. A little after this album dropped, my dad brought our first computer after convincing him it would be good for my schooling. Instead I used it for Napster and Fruity Loops 3 lol. The first beats I made were all remakes of this album which taught me the fundamentals of music as I had no real training in instruments besides learning a few chords on guitar from a cousin. Still bump this album to this day!
Mike Elizondo is a Master… between 2001 - Slim Shady LP and Marshal Mathers LP he laid down some of the best bass/ guitar and key lines … the arrangements are the best of the past 20 years… these are the sounds that got me into playing bass at 15 in 2000
I bought the instrumental version back in the day. One of my favorite memories was rolling around town with my grampa in my ride that bumped hard. He had bad hearing but was also an understated bad ass. That record resonated with him. He loved the bass frequencies of the record. Nice to hear the tracks played live.
Your comment helped to me to reminisce on a time me and my grandpa were cruising to the grocery store listening to Snoop Dogg. We get to a red light and I look to my right and my grandpa was bouncing around in his seat, dancing to Snoop.
That's because at the distance this was shot from the drummer is really the only very clear activity happening, so that's where you're instinctively going to focus. This will probably be the case for many people.
TH-cam recommends this to me and they have just been the best discovery I had in 2024, the work they do is incredible, you sound very clean. Greetings from Argentina, long live HIP HOP. Let politics rot, I hope I can see them live.
Me and my boys are in a high school band, right now it’s me on keys and my two friends split between bass and guitar. No drummer right now so we just use tracks. I strive for our band to be like you guys, and hopefully we can start playing in the street as well. Just know you’re a huge inspiration to me and my friends and I love to listen to all your covers!
It is so great to witness that Dr. Dre's mastery will live forever, because his music have never died in the years, it is still evolving very long after the release! I am very glad to hear these outstandingly beautiful covers, well done, fellow musicians! ❤❤❤
Most amazing thing I've heard since the original. I just had the craziest nostalgic flashback listening to this with my eyes closed. Thank you for this.
D.r.e. was studio perfect. The drums are insane. The effort and planning to set up, deal with wind and weather, make it sound pro, etc. So much effort in this. Amazing work. OPERATES MOSTLY ANYWHERE
it reminds me of the day when I bought this album, when it's was just released. my pc didn't had a sound card, but there was cd-rom) it's amazing covers, excellent quality) thanks for nostalgia btw
To think I was born in the NPC 80s just on time to experience all this first hand. To think it's now on the classics playlist and I'm nearing my 40s... Life is a blip and I am glad to be part of this era. Poor one for the homies who didn't make it this far and cheers to the future!
please keep reigning on us. Ultimate sound, vibe captured perfectly. I eat diner with my wife and two kids to this shit. I work to this shit. I relax to this shit. I freestyle to this shit. Keeping the essence of my goddamn soul alive. Makes me feel like I'm a youngin' again.
This is a masterpiece. Your love for the original album is apparent. One would never guess the content of some of these songs by listening to this. Housewife I'm looking at you 😂
This is why Dre never released another album. Its a masterpiece and impossible to top. This is very enjoyable. Thanks for sharing. You guys should try some DJ Quik. 😅
That background is also beautiful! The contrast between the music and the background is astonishing and makes this video even that much better! I also love how the dude on the left played the "tititititi" melody for "Still Dre" on his guitar instead of using a synthesizer!
This made me realize either that the drum patterns are super simple or so complicated they sound simple. Either way great job of making it sound almost identical.
The genius is in simplicity. Doesnt mean its easy. It has to be TIGHT AF all around because of it. One of the reasons Dre works with live instruments instead of samples ;)
What an album by Dre. Defined my whole taste in music. Everytime they play a new track the lyrics just come out of me, hahaha. A masterpiece that I will listen to when I'm 90
USA! 🇺🇸 We are coming to play for yall on our CO-HEADLINE TOUR with Shing02 this summer! Aug-Sep 🚐 ticktets here: linktr.ee/OMAshing02
Ah man! No Houston date. I might have to head to Austin to jam out with you. Great to hear about US tour.

Oh boys, one of best albums ever.
So Dope...
Next tour Australia please.
@oma_band what will the show be like? playing nujabes covers and stuff?
estan cabrones oma 😎
This quality for free is insane 😂
🤫🤫
Do you want to pay for it?
Feels like finding treasure man
You just discovered TH-cam? 🙄 maybe someone else is insane? 🤔😁😛😛😛😛🐒
I was about to say the same thing
Imagine having created this masterpiece in 1999 and 25 years later some kids stand on a grassy hilltop in the UK and play it live. :D And I mean that in the best of ways. Awesome work OMA! Lovit!
It's never live.
Dre is or would be ecstatic. The pocket these gents lay in is masterful. Absolutely funk. Every track their own.
Whoever did the sound mixing for this deserves a knighthood! Mad skills.
It’s so clean! Honestly without the video I’d believe I was listening to the original.
This ought to be many studio sessions with some live miming.
Listening with IEMs this is just nasty, the musicianship and mixing is badass
@@otobotrecordsif not, AE deserves a freaking medal. Masterfuk
the recording engineer deserves their merit too, the choice of mics and their position is great
Any hip hop/rap artist that wants to perform live needs musicians like these
Indeed!
would change the dynamic for sure if the beats were actually live too...
@charleswrigley9488Imagine being completely oblivious to the fact that rap artists actually use live musicians for shows. 😂
@charleswrigley9488 That makes no sense. A drum machine doesn't change its timing for the rapper and neither would a live drummer. The other musicians all follow the drummer and the rapper raps to the beat. There's literally no difference aside from it sounding a whole lot better.
they are too greedy to share with real musicians
Dr.Dre needs to see this! Best tribute to the greatest album ever produced. Masterpiece from track 1 to 23, skits included.
Only thing to top this performance would be having OMA perform this with Dre Em Snoop and whoever is still alive that was featured on the album.
I just tweeted at him. (He won't see it, but I did my part! LOL)
That guitar tone on xxplosive is amazing
Truly
also on forgot about dre
I wonder what Keith Richard od Brian May or Slash have to say about it
That shit brought tears to my eyes 🥲
As soon as I heard it, I scrolled down to see if there were any comments on how crisp it was!
Came for one or two songs, stayed for the set 😂
💯
WORD! 🤘🏾
Say that again😇
Nah. I came for the set. First track locked me in good 🔥
this is me, thought it was 1 song, here I am at the end of it, saving it to listen again tomorrow

The discipline demonstrated here is S tier. So, so deep in the pocket.

Looks like I found the band for my wedding.
Ya talking now..hunid'

I never expected to get emotional. But shit, here I am. Hip-hop Nostalgia at it's finest. Thanks.
amazing how well this music carries without the vocals. the arrangement is so minimal, so simple, but so effective
Dre is a musical genius
"Simplicity is key"
- Dr Dre
F all the new rappers.
It’s all hits from late 1970s bro look up em they’re gems and I know them thanks to Dr DRE
Things just ain't been the same for gangsters

When 'Forgot about Dre' finished i realized i've been staring to the drummer nonstop for 22 minutes
That's because at the distance this was shot from the drummer is really the only very clear activity happening, so that's where you're instinctively going to focus. This will probably be the case for many people.
Lol that's funny as shit cause so was I 😂
He's in the middle and he's keeping the beat so it makes sense lol
Can do it with all of em, pure skillz😊
The guitarist on this track is doing his thing...had to listen to it twice. Props to all of them, a brilliant production
As a 90's West Coast producer, I gotta say this is just flawless 🔥🔥🔥
The nailed " Big Egos"
these guys are something else... great team... the drummer nailed/........ all are dope
TH-cam recommends this to me and they have just been the best discovery I had in 2024, the work they do is incredible, you sound very clean. Greetings from Argentina, long live HIP HOP. Let politics rot, I hope I can see them live.

Damn me too👌🏾
Man, the bass and drums be holdin it down! Tight!
the snare is so crisp. put it through the sampler.
I'm always on the lookout for solid instrumentals to jam out to in the office. This works!
It is so great to witness that Dr. Dre's mastery will live forever, because his music have never died in the years, it is still evolving very long after the release!
I am very glad to hear these outstandingly beautiful covers, well done, fellow musicians! ❤❤❤
"Big Egos" is a PERFECT vibe for this! Holy shit. Incredible work, boys
Most amazing thing I've heard since the original. I just had the craziest nostalgic flashback listening to this with my eyes closed. Thank you for this.

For anyone wondering this was filmed up near Holme Moss above Holmfirth. Last of the summer wine territory. Epic.
Good eye! Not far from where I live. Imagine going for a walk and stumbling across these guys lol
@@terrytibbz6820 *walking the Dog* "is that.. Xxplosive?"
I thought it looked familiar but it was Emley Moor Mast poking out the bassist's head that confirmed it! @@terrytibbz6820
It's a band I want a lot of people to know, but on the other hand, it's so good that I want to know only myself!! I'm a Korean fan of OMA🎉
Now this is clean
The greatest album created, and you guys just did it absolute justice. Bravo.
To think I was born in the NPC 80s just on time to experience all this first hand. To think it's now on the classics playlist and I'm nearing my 40s... Life is a blip and I am glad to be part of this era. Poor one for the homies who didn't make it this far and cheers to the future!
I was just watching old videos and was pleasantly surprised by a fresh drop by the freshest group! Thanks for the beats!

Keeping the essence of my goddamn soul alive. Makes me feel like I'm a youngin' again.
That guitar is gorgeous
You have to admit - keyboard player is THE KEY to all of this
Yes!!
Amazing, but everyone is so tightly locked. Literally all parts perfect
They’re all great, but I really think the drummer is the key. He’s nailing the pocket. Bassist is great too.
they're all sick
That's because scott storch's keys were the key to 2001
Didn't ask for it, but now you can't take it back 🥁😎🎹🎸
Amazing guys 🫡
I hope Dre to see this work of u guys ✌️
great stuff!!! STILL DRE
This is a masterpiece. Your love for the original album is apparent.
One would never guess the content of some of these songs by listening to this. Housewife I'm looking at you 😂

It’s worth a watch to the end just for the kick drum sound.
