  • The Immaculate Conception of Mary (What Theology of the Body Has to Say)
What light does the Theology of the Body have to shed on the Immaculate Conception of Mary? As St. John Paul II unfolds, we must come to view the sexual act not only as co-creative but also co-redemptive. Nowhere is this more evident than in the marriage of Joachim and Anne and the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Mary’s Immaculate Conception is a testament to all of history that indeed, sexual intimacy can be truly holy.

So that means that Mary was sinless?

Since when is Mary immaculately conceived? New to me.

This was the understanding of the Church from the Apostles onward. Both East and West Christianity, in a unified witness to this truth have held this understanding. Even Luther still believed in the Immaculate Conception. As with just about everything Christian, the Protestant Umbrella has questioned it and many have replaced it with their own man-made nonsense.

Because she wasn’t, my friend. It’s not biblically supported nor is it logical.

@@39knights no the Orthodox believe that this detracts from Mary - saying that she did not sin from her own volition

@@B1rdTheW0rd it is logical. If Mary was a sinner then her Son would inherit that naturally.

@@michaelmoroney7785 Jesus could have easliy been conceived via an immaculate conception from a sinful parent just as Mary was sinlessly conceived from her sinful parents. So it is not logical, and logic has nothing to do with it. It was God's divinely revealed plan that it was done this way; and it is part of the deposit of the Apostolic Faith handed down to us. Protestants en masse have walked away from that faith and now try every conceivable trick and word-salad to justify their apostasy in their own minds.

Since sin makes one an enemy of God and a friend and slave of Satan, why would the mother of Jesus, who is God, be in a single moment be a slave of Satan. Is it possible?
