Yesterday I carried a plat Reyna, and jet as a gold player (played 30-11! And reyna was under me with 21-14) And I got 0 compliments or whatever, I clutched the game with an ace and as soon the win screen popped up they started to yell I belong in the kitchen, females don't belong in valorant, I was a fucking wh*re and I only got those kills by holding angles and flank (which is my job as a KJ main btw) the whole game I gave info and I kept being nice, if I play 5 games and still play good or win them rounds 3 of those games end in toxicity. I am so close to using a sound board for a male voice because this is making me so depressed sometimes. Josh, go play EU servers so I meet fun people once 😂

As someone who is biologically female and still has a feminine voice, I can say that I personally deal with people like this every day. I love playing Valorant and playing comp gives me an adrenaline rush, but when that wears off the toxicity begins. I hate dealing with it, and usually just try to stay positive and keep playing because the people who yell at me most likely have no idea how I was doing in my past games, and don't have any right to speak up about my play style or where I am on the leaderboard. Don't take toxicity from people, especially in a video game that is meant to be enjoyed. And PLEASE, speak up or at least encourage others who are dealing with this regardless of age, gender, sexuality, race, and regardless of whether or not they are famous. Even if it gets toxicity thrown at you in the process, just remember that when the game is over you'll most likely never see them again, and that you will have a clean slate with the next set of people you are playing with. Female or not, no one deserves to have hurtful comments directed at them because of how they play a game!

The only time I’ve been asked that (girl or boy?) and not annoyed was once when a chamber made a joke about having sex with my mom, but he apologized like 2 rounds later because he realized I was a girl 😭 I took it as more of a genuine ‘I don’t want to be rude’ over insulting because he sounded so genuine lol

It depends on the server mate. I play in a different server so I don't get any hate or toxicity from teammates and not the whole community is toxic. There are some players who knows how to respect bruh

I remember this one game where I was m-mvp while playing Jett and I was SUPER nice in chat to my teammates and they were so nice to me too and saying stuff like “yess boss man Jett ur the man” but ik dang well if I talked in game or they found out I was a girl I would def get hated and called boosted for having my “bf” play on my acc but, that’s the life of a girl in valorant..not talk and be seen as a dude or get hated on the second ur teammates find out, u cant escape the wrath of 4 crazy men in ur game 😔

I was gifted a riot gun buddy (totally by chance), and the switch up when people see it is INSANE. People can be calling me everything in the book, they see the gun buddy, and everything changes. Is so frustrating that it takes them falsely thinking I’m famous or a dev to treat me with respect

As a female that plays valorant in JP servers I can say that I meet a lot of fellow cute female players as well!! Majority of the people I meet are very very nice and most of the time the team mood and atmosphere is optimistic. Even in iron - bronze there's a lot of talking usually :))
There are just certain games though with toxic enemies (usually) or silent teammates.
On the other hand when I start playing on other asian servers.. ;') sanity levels drop bro

I'm a girl but i don't often get sht on in HK server. Probably because I don't open comms when the team is toxic and I only open comms when I atleast get top frag in a few rounds just to make a point that I won't be carried. It's sad really, that's why I mostly enjoy games with friends because I can freely comms and kinda get carried (they are better than me lol) in the game.

As someone who had a duo thats a girl we always used to play until always getting sexist teamates she was very fun to play with but the sexist people made her quit so now im always lonely :(
its genuinely so scary playing valorant with my mic on as an afab especially due to my extremely feminine voice and younger tone... i quit using my mic not long ago and now exclusively use team chat due to this toxicity and this was before i even started playing comp games - it got worse from there. i would have loved to speak up about it but unfortunately im a sensitive crybaby who is bad at both confrontation and arguing. i'll always back other afabs tho if theyre getting grief, i just cant do it for myself yk 😞

Honestly, being a girl in Valorant is as bad as it seems if not worse.
However, people are still mean regardless of gender, with women having it worse because of sexism (and the player base being majorily male)
Normally I would be playing well and a toxic teammate would be back-seating and the like, even if they’re worse than me. They’re even MORE offended once I reveal my voice, as if girls aren’t allowed to be as good if not better than them. (Which sometimes makes me happy to see them be so work up and prove that I am better than them)

I always have all of us on mute and I only use chat text. I have been called so many things and (****TW****) told to take my life countless times and at first you can ignore it but it does wear me down. Playing valorant sometimes makes me lose my morale tbh. I hate seeing “omg it’s a girl gg” when it 4 guys and 1 of me. I start throwing when I get all the kills I’m satisfied with and then they talk so much trash about me like “stay in the kitchen” or “touch grass” like chief chill out it’s just a dang game
You would think that at some point they would realize how simple this is.
Every human who plays games is capable of pushing buttons. That's all this game is. You press the correct button at the correct time and situation. You operate other controls to swing the camera angle around.
What difference does any player's genitalia really make when players are supposed to use their hands and fingers for those buttons and controls?
PLUS, what possible advantage is there to being toxic to their own teammates? Do they want to win when they play, or not? If they want or need to be toxic to somebody in game, they should do it to the opponent.
Game Sense can click with absolutely anybody after some time.
How does any of this logic escape these people?
