Do you know why my fhiaba fridge keeps beeping? The door is fully closed and the temperature is fine. Is there a way I can turn off the buzzer?

Anytime the fridge beeps the alarm icon will be flashing and there will be a corresponding message on the display explaining the reason for the alarm. The alarm only sounds in 3 cases: fridge door is open 3+ minutes, freezer drawer is open for 3+ minutes or bottle cooler function has timed out. Chances are it's a fridge door open alarm. Check the microswitch armature in the upper hinge pocket. You can stick your pinky or a screwdriver in there to press the armature to tell the the electronic that the door is open or closed. You should hear a click when you press / release it. Now, close the door slowly...you should hear that click in the last inch or two of travel before the door fully closes. If you don't, get your pinky back up in there and pull the small metal armature towards you as far as it will go giving it a little bend. It should ensure the hinge geometry contacts it when closing after this kind of adjustment.

@@thevettagroupfhiabachannel7663 Thanks for the reply. I tried put my finger in the upper hinge as you instrusted and the light did swtich off. Now this reminds me that the spring in lower hinge fell out couple months ago, I guess that's why the fridge won't be able to detect the door closure properly. Now I just don't know how to put the spring back.....

@@mchiang Only the upper hinge has a spring. The lower does not have one. I suspect the spring you have is from the upper hinge and perhaps was the cause of the little arm of the microswitch getting bent out of shape.

@@thevettagroupfhiabachannel7663 now that you mentioned that, I think I know what’s the issue. It looks like the spring broke into two and fell off, half of it still attached to the hinge.

Thank you for this.... However, the manual is very poor... I am just trying to turn off or on the ice maker on a model BI8990TST3IU and I sometimes succeed other not.... pressing the icon does not seem to do it...Is there a magic sequence?

Make sure the keypad is unlocked. After the door has been shut for 3 minutes the keypad locks automatically and will be unresponsive to touch. This is to prevent unintentional changes to the operation of the appliance (such as accidentally turning off the ice maker ;) ). If you touch an icon and it is unresponsive, there should be a corresponding message on the display saying 'keypad locked'. Hold the MENU and left DOWN-ARROW simultaneously for a couple of seconds until you see 'keypad unlocked' on the display. You can now interact with the control interface.
