  • Escaping the bottom position in MMA is very difficult. It's even harder when you're pinned against the Wall(cage).
    Check out this new video where I detail two useful MMA escapes from the bottom position against the cage!

    Major respect for that a-frame position, hip bump, and knee to the wall. That’s the most quintessential piece for getting up off the wall that 95% people don’t know of cover 🙌

    I should have watched this before my last fight. I got stuck on bottom and pinned against the cage. It was a nightmare 🤣

    Steve amazing stuff.. but while implementing this I had blocker.. the person who took me down didn't go for hands he kept holding my hips down difficult for me to explode and knee to ground. So is there any way to break that grip?

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      If he is just holding your hips you should be able to bump your hips into him then draw your knee to the wall. From there pressure his head to the floor. You’ll be able to build up from there. Hope that helps.

    Does this work if your legs are tied up? Because some fighter like khabib tie your legs up while taking you down like this

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You'd have to free up the leg lace first. Otherwise your hips will be immobilized.

  • @tingyeelai8
    @tingyeelai8 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    would you say its more important to get your head higher or your hips higher?

    • @StevenStranglesPeople
      @StevenStranglesPeople  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      In most cases your hips follow your head. So get your head higher than your opponents and chances are your hips will follow.
      The only exception is when your hands are on the mat and you’re getting up from 4 point stance which is more risky (back exposure).
