Hanna starts the morning talking about the ugly duckling, that ugly things can become beautiful. She asked first if 6 is considered a baby. That was sad, because I'm sure she was talking about herself there, and dad was hardly moved. She was so articulate and sweet. I see eat the Dr was saying about the parents not having positive interactions with the girls. Everything is a task with them.
I agree with you. It truly spoke volumes to me in the first episode when there was NO positive interactions between the parents and the two girls at all....just negative. And then Dr. Tonya asked the girl's parents to describe their daughters and the adjectives they came up with to describe them were "neurotic, highly-strung, cheeky, manipulative and stubborn." Not once did I hear her say "she's beautiful. she's sweet, she's funny, she's creative, I love her"....there was nothing positive at all in how the parents see their daughters.....and then it REALLY disturbed me when they were painting the mural, and she chose to depict her daughter as a devil child with horns and a tail. What does THAT really say about her as a mother if that is how she sees her child? And poor Hannah has obviously recognized that her parents see her in that light....that's why she was talking about the ugly duckling. I honestly wanted to give her a hug and tell her she was beautiful exactly as she was..
Hannah talking about the ugly duckling and how ugly things can turn into something beautiful....such an insightful child with a beautiful heart. She will do great things ♡

She really is a good mother. When sweet little Dante cleaned William's nose it was obvious she was raising him with kindness. He was a doll! He actually had the easiest issue to solve to me.
The discovery of the food (or at least, messy ones) phobia was really interesting and an example of why exterior intervention, therapy, etc can be soooo helpful
Okay, was that first little girl up with her dad the MOST profound? “Sometimes even the most ugly things turn out to be beautiful. I’m going to have a quiet morning.” I wonder if she sees their being there (for an ugly reason -their behavior) will turn out to be something nice - a better family. And I bet she was glad to have a quiet morning.
17:00 When Tania said “Mrs squirrel and Mr Snowman, they’ve got to go.” THE LOOK ON THE DADS FACE 🤣🤣🤣 TOTAL DEPRESSION 😭 I think the dad likes them more than Louis himself 😂
But why do they use them as if he had a comunication issue? It’s as if he gave Nicky a book in Braille! What do you need braille for if you’re not blind?
The dad acts like a child. He goes from childlike to absolute rage. So very strange. They even dress Louis in babyish clothes, clothes that an infant would wear. They, especially the father, speak to him and treat him like he’s a baby, so he acts like a baby.
Contrary to all the comments I've read, I believe Hannah is a very smart, very perceptive child. She is so dialled in to her parents at age six she's able to provide detailed perceptions for her parents. "You've never played with me like that before" is an amazing observation for a six-year-old. Her laugh, that so many people are commenting negatively about, is *exactly* like her father's laugh. Hannah is an amazing little girl.
I can’t understand why they keep saying Dante had a sleepless first night! He woke once in 10 hours and didn’t get into bed with mom until after 6 am....maybe he was ready to get up at that point. He got nearly 12 hours sleep!
Nicola spoke to Lewis just like she did with Dante and he understood. Paul has to realise that and cut down on so much third person and pet words. He can speak like this now and then, but not all the time
So we are making a bit of progress in this video. I think Dante's mommy is taking her learning in stride. The child walked away and rather than letting her go calm down and then take her in to breakfast, Mom followed her and made it worse.. And then they were playing outside together....Mom got mad because she couldn't just let go and act silly so her daughter kept throwing Daddy the ball and then the younger daughter threw an epic fit because she wanted to swing and everyone else went inside and rather than ignoring her. Dad kept talking to her. He can't just let her sort her own tantrum, he has to console her. As for Louis's mom and dad....they are trying. He doesn't need the high chair and the baby food and Mommy and Daddy spoon-feeding him sweets and the childish language anymore because he has grown past that stage....That doesn't mean you stop playing hand puppets with your son if he enjoys that....it just means CHANGE THE CONTEXT of how you do it. I think imaginative play is wonderful for a child Louis's age, but don't use Mr. Squirrel friend to communicate with your son in baby-talk. Teach Louis how to communicate with you in a more grown-up way and praise him when he does. Same with his eating....stop babying your son and let HIM feed himself big boy food. My nephew is HALF Louis's age and he's been on solids for MONTHS now.
Exactly. Dante might not say much yet, he’s not even two, but he tells his mom what he wants, “dumdum, mummy“ The girls want attention, that’s it, especially Hanah. As for Lewis, something must be done. He does talk, but is coppying his dad’s language, which other people might not understand
@@anaarbues9768 I just wonder HOW MUCH of Dr. Tanya's teaching actually stuck once they left the house. Did Louis's parents continue encouraging their son to eat and be a big boy or did they immediately go back to babying him? Is Dante still in his bed or has he gone back to Mommy's bed? And are the girls still playing up every time they are told no. (I DO agree with you about them doing this for attention)
I understood what Hannah was trying to tell her dad outside. She was frustrated she was the oldest there cause she doesn't have a chance much to interact with her peers. She has a deep understanding about things when she was talking about the Ugly Duckling story at breakfast. I about teared up cause I think she felt it was a beautiful thing that she had peace and quiet without her sister there. Back to outside she was frustrated with having to do baby things and I felt she meant she always had to go along with what made Jessica happy and her feelings weren't being heard. Her dad missed it when he should have hugged Hannah instead of running off to get a tissue. He cared more about her getting tears and snot on the coat sleeve than to comfort his daughter. How she said she hates babies makes me think she hit the little boy in the face with the swing on purpose and there was no apologies. Even if Hannah didn't say sorry the father should have.
I think she ends up playing with Dante and being kind to him. But just imagine. One child who still has a dummy, another one weepy, and on top of that, I don’t understand them…
First, Dante is the ABSOLUTE cutest little boy I've ever seen, watching him toddle out of his bed just melts my heart, how could you not give in to him?!?! What a good mum. Second, these episodes just always remind me that kids really do say the darndest things.... "I guess I can have a quiet morning." Just so sweet.
Watching Lewis and his parents, I've never seen a child freak out about eating or having food on their hands - most kids love getting messy. It never ceases to amaze me just how much our own fears, even the subconscious ones are projected onto our kids. In Lewis' case this isn't just about food phobia but his parents are so scared of him knowing the real world, they have such a deep seeded fear of him being hurt physically and emotionally by anything and everything that I'm surprised they didn't literally wrap him up in cotton wool. As parents, we never stop worrying about them from the time they are born but this is/was a very extreme case indeed.
My son was the messiest kid! He would smear food all over himself, from his head to his toes, would squish it between his fingers and make a huge mess, so this is so foreign to me! As a teacher and a mother, i let them play with paint, play doh, paste and glue, glitter, all the messy stuff. Kids learn about their world from being tactile. How could Louis’ parents be so clueless?
And what about the language? Do you prefer to say yog-yog, yogourt or mixing both of them? And do you prefer to ask a child “does Alfie like it?“ or “do you like this, Alfie?“
Maybe it’s because I am Spanish, but I find quite usual saying things like yog-yog to a toddler. But “a brown yog-yog“? A 2-year-oldsays chocolate perfectly. well, maybe in their language still, but you know what I mean
“Sometimes ugly things turn into beautiful things” - Hannah wasn’t trying to ask Dad if she was ugly, was she? She also asked if 6yr olds are babies. It was sweet to see her talking to Dad, but he seemed a bit flummoxed as to how to respond.
These are all good, loving, devoted parents. They've just lost their way for the moment. But being cognizant of that is really the first (biggest?) step to solving your problems. Good to see it.
I absolutely adore the "big girl" Hannah. She is sharp and knows pretty much whats going on. And her father is amazing with them. I really wish I had his patience when my daughter was small.
The music is so overwhelming. Don’t people who make a documentary screen it? Did no one notice how awful the sound is? The narrator you can’t hear because of the music. The narrator you can’t hear because of the families. Good concept. Absolutely horrendous production values.
When Jessica cries over quite a long period of time: *I wanna go on the swing - I wanna go on the swing', I think maybe the dad should let her know that he hears her, but still let her know she can't. Like: "I know you wanna go on the swing, but right now we're going to do this, that or whatever". Jessica must feel she isn't being heard or understood. No Wonder she keeps crying for thirty minutes. What she learned from that, was that what she wants doesn't matter. I'm not sure that's the best aproach in the long run. She might turn out 'well behaved', but also with a dent in her self esteem.
@@dandreegwill4717 Dandre: Your mom is a rock star! I have so much respect for her for all she did- especially the climbing/leap of faith. I think we all fell in love with your brother, Dante. What an adorable, sweet guy. Hope this finds you and your family well and happy...
What sort of sound check did they do in producing this series? What a shame! The guts of the program is good, but the audio is just awful. I was hoping the sound would have been corrected for the second episode, unfortunately no attention has been given. That music is crazy loud!!!
Nicola & Dante are so sweet. I know how you feel Nicola. I was in your shoes once. Just my son & I against the world. Well my son is about to be 13. He's happy, healthy, intelligent, caring, & on & on. I would be blessed to have you & your lil man as a friend.
I am sorry but this house needs to be designed for both the older kids as well as the younger kids. It sounds like this house is only designed for the younger kids and in my opinion that is wrong. Doesn't the father see that his older daughter want to hold a conversation?
Poor Hannah was so frustrated. I think the comment about having a quiet morning was her wanting to not have to be around all the babies - by the way the way she said “babies” is adorable. She wants her parents to recognize that she’s a “big girl”. But at that pivotal moment, he father was absolutely checked out. She’s a “big girl” but still only 6, so she’s confused and frustrated and hasn’t had good examples set for how to cope with her emotions. This gives some insight into her tantrums, I think.
learning millions with her interpretation of the child x food.... would think it was just tantrum+anxious parents but recognizing a fobic behaviour makes me more empathic to some families
It is interesting how a parent's neurosis can rub off so easily on their child(ren). Little Lewis has lovely parents but they worry about him too much.
thats part of being a parent ur supposed to worry u don't want ur children to nave broken bones do u its not just the child being hurt but ur wallet as well think about all \the medical bills u have to pay if he or she does wind up with broken bones and as for the child bones take longer to heal its not like ur average scrap cut bump or bruise
@@amandayee906 WHAT??? Man, you are over the top anxious! Broken bones? Why are you so worried? Kids need to run, play, explore, learn how to become independent! You can’t wrap them in bubble wrap and shield them from everything. They will get cuts, scrapes, bruises, maybe even a broken bone once or twice. They will heal! It’s all part of life. You need to relax!
@@lessehead im not against the freedom of running and playing just do it safely with no risk that means playing sports sports r dangerous but im not against a playground
@@amandayee906 No risk? 🤣🤣🤣 There is no such thing in life as no risk! Life is about taking risks! You have some serious hang ups that you need to address. I’ve played sports for my whole life. My kids played organized sports from age 6 through college. My son broke his hand playing football. My daughter broke her wrist when she fell while skate boarding. They healed beautifully! Bones heal, and life goes on! Kids develop serious phobias like the kids on this show when their parents overprotect and coddle them. It is terrible for development. You have to let them grow and fly free! If you have kids, please don’t stifle them. Let them follow their interests and enjoy life. Sports are the best for so many reasons!
Is the next episode coming today? I cant wait to see all the episodes seriously. I've waited for this show to be somewhere on the internet forever and FINALLY it is
Tanya is brilliant and so articulate! Wow Lewis really isn't used to not getting his own way. I don't get the impression that Lewis is scared of food, but more that he's grossed out by When he was dipping his finger in the yogurt with his Dad, Lewis even made a squeaking sound when he recoiled from it. A little tough love will not destroy the kid but actually help him grow up and toughen up a little. He is one of those kids you see at pre school that's always crying over nothing. His parents are lovely but talk about wrapping their son up in cotton wool. Dante is seems to be much more hardy then Lewis and he's a year younger. The way he said "Dante" at around 36:19 was pretty cute. I want to see how all these families are going now, if they have followed through with everything in the real world.
I agree that Louis needed toughening up. His parents had babied him for too long. He was going to be bullied relentlessly if he didn’t grow up a little. Pre school would have been so beneficial for him.
******NOTE TO VIDEOGRAPHER********* Please keep the music and background noise quieter - at times it is so loud it is very difficult if not impossible to hear the dialogue. Thank you!,,,
This show is at least 13 years old and the sound was the same way when it was aired on tv. The person who uploaded it has no control over it. There is no way to fix it now. This should have been fixed when it was made.
The little girl is so wise if her dad would pay attention. She saw her dad's face & knows he's struggling & tells him the story of the ugly duckling saying, "sometimes ugly things turn into beautiful things".
The sound editors on this show are AWFUL. You should be fired and never work in this industry again. ALso I love dr tanya even more than supernanny, this woman is AMAZING
So, the food phobia was actually caused by the parents wiping away mess on their child. To help prevent food phobias a child should only be cleaned when they have completely finished. They should be allowed to be messy in everyday play, ie, painting, mud play etc. When introducing new foods, allow your child to explore these first through play. For example, introducing avocado, put dinosaur toys on some trays, put the avocado down and get the child to use the dinosaurs in stamping and smushing the avocado. Always allow your child to feel, smell and taste the food before expecting them to eat a full plate of it. Just like us, we wouldn't eat anything unfamiliar to us. Also, encouraging independence can be amazing for confidence and help manage anxieities. (I am qualified).
Yeah, children really need to use all their senses when they learn to eat regular food and feed themselves. It’s messy, but that’s what washcloths, soap and dishes that are easily washed are for. It’s not like that phase lasts for a long time either. It’s just a phase, like all the other developmental steps.
The music is still too loud we can’t hear what people are saying. Please fix. This happened in the first episode and many people complained but you didn’t do anything about it😩
Jane Tilmann I would like to hear what they are talking about. It is a good show but not if you can’t hear it all because of loud music when the narrators are talking. There are other comments about the sound on here too.
Dianne Harrington Thank you really they should not have let the show go to air with such bad sound. The show is really good and we don’t have these types of shows in Australia. They are good learning tools but we need to be able to hear what people are saying. Cheers Kas 🐨🇦🇺
telling Hannah to be a big girl and not cry isn’t a good move. she should be able to feel her emotions and cry. her feelings are completely valid-she’s surrounded by toddlers and she feels like she’s being grouped in with them, when she’s much older. Dad should have acknowledged that she’s much older, and that he understands why she’s upset
The parents with the two little girls know how to take care of each other but doesn't know what to so with children. They will get it because they want to know.
Dante mama is one beautiful woman, her son is so adorable I think Jessica's parents , specifically her dad is very cold towards her and her big sister No hugging and kissing at all Lewis is soon cute no matter what he does, iwish to have a sweet kid like him one day
Still off topic but still, the doc is a downright fox. and what she does for these families is absolutely incredible. I can not believe how much she can accomplish in this small amount of time.
Why is it wrong for your kid to sleep in your bed? You get to sleep with your, husband, boyfriend etc and the kids have to sleep alone. My kids have all made their way into my bed at some point in the night and now my grandson does the same when he has a sleepover. It doesn't last forever they grow up too fast. So just enjoy the love and cuddles.
The parents get so frustrated with their child not eating but they created this! I can't believe that is almost a 3 yr old.. He is still like a baby, it is sad.
I know that this is done in the U.K and laws are different but everytime they show a mom or dad driving with the kid and no car seat for the kids I get anxiety. I am surprised to that they are lax about this type of thing.
Very insightful show. It gives the parents a REAL chance to see where things are going wrong and how to correct it. Unlike the Super Nanny where its a one size fits all approach for every single family. JO does the same thing over and over. Plus I don't think some of the stuff taught is practical.

Two parents feeding a child... chocoa to the bed... too good life.
I wasn’t the best eater when I was little I was picky about what I ate, I also had sever food allergies so that also was limiting my diet, however my mom said with the foods I did like I was constantly eating them, I was always snacking on carrots, celery, green beans, corn, peas, and broccoli I would eat broccoli cooked constantly and carried those veggies around sometimes. Will admit this tho with the little boy who keeps waking up, kids that little can have nightmares and he may be having constant nightmares
8:25 oh I know why she’s losing her cool, she thinks her parents still see her as a younger kid or a infant, and the fact she’s the oldest kid around her is making her upset because the babies are too young to play with her
that little girl saying "i'm going to have a quiet morning", especially combined with her dad's expression, was absolutely hilarious

Holy smokes that Hannah is a clever girl. She's interested in everything.
I would have needed a dictionary with them.I wouldn’t even understand what he’s asking for
My son was the messiest kid!
@@anaarbues9768Lewis' parents are a mess. That poor child. They are sick and manipulative. Child protective services should have been cakl.
Thank you thank you thank you! I have been trying to find a way to watch this again for YEARS. Please keep uploading?
Thanks for the upload. Great program..I've learned where I went wrong with my son's sleeping habits;)
My goodness. Dante is so cute and smart. Hannah too.
Dante is sooooo cute
Yay for episode 2 and the families success thus far. Such a great series with do much good advice 🙂
Yay, you've uploaded the next episode! Thank you! Keep them coming please :)
Do you think episode 3 could be put up tonight or is that asking for too much?! :)
“Sometimes ugly things turn into beautiful things” - Hannah wasn’t trying to ask Dad if she was ugly, was she? She also asked if 6yr olds are babies. It was sweet to see her talking to Dad, but he seemed a bit flummoxed as to how to respond.
the sound mixing in this is AWFUL. nearly impossible to watch
Nicola is a wonderful mom and her son is adorable!!
Conversation between husband and wife: thumbs up.
I am glad for the second episode. Thank you.
Pro Tip: The rubbish sound mixing is more bearable when you have headphones on with medium volume.
Hope this helps a bit
Bless you! It is so distracting!
I think they've taken it out.
TAMBSin M nope. Amateur.
I must say, very impressive the way everyone was able to ignore the 3 yr old having a tantrum.
Guys it's been so long but I am Lewis. I'm re watching this episode from ages ago. So much nostalgia but a little update: I'm doing fine.
I'm dante's younger bro this is funny to see him soooooooo small
@@dandreegwill4717 Yoo no wayyy! How are you guys doing ?
Hi. What was the other program you guys were in called?
@@dandreegwill4717 Dandre: Your mom is a rock star! I have so much respect for her for all she did- especially the climbing/leap of faith. I think we all fell in love with your brother, Dante. What an adorable, sweet guy. Hope this finds you and your family well and happy...
@@donnadee1966 thank you
What sort of sound check did they do in producing this series? What a shame! The guts of the program is good, but the audio is just awful. I was hoping the sound would have been corrected for the second episode, unfortunately no attention has been given. That music is crazy loud!!!
i have no problem hearing, i never noticed it lol.
The music gives me a headache
Nicola & Dante are so sweet. I know how you feel Nicola. I was in your shoes once. Just my son & I against the world. Well my son is about to be 13. He's happy, healthy, intelligent, caring, & on & on. I would be blessed to have you & your lil man as a friend.
I am sorry but this house needs to be designed for both the older kids as well as the younger kids. It sounds like this house is only designed for the younger kids and in my opinion that is wrong. Doesn't the father see that his older daughter want to hold a conversation?
I know right? That father was a complete moron! He couldnt even converse with his child.
tina andersen I understand the older girl it’s all babies they haven’t provided for her needs.
Thankyou so much for uploading I miss this show
Hannah is really sweet. U can tell she wants to say something but can't quite find the words!
37:40
I love Nicola doing the Harlem shake with Dante 🤣 and Tania who has NO CLUE what’s going on 😂
Did that already exist in 2005???
Dante should have been in a proper car seat whilst out driving!!! In an accident he would have nothing to adequately restrain him!!!!
learning millions with her interpretation of the child x food.... would think it was just tantrum+anxious parents but recognizing a fobic behaviour makes me more empathic to some families
OMG~ THIS SHOW SHOULD BE CALLED "TINY TERRORS"!!
IF I HADN'T ALREADY BEEN THROUGH MENOPAUSE, I'D HAVE MY TUBES TIED!😁
I'M OUT OF HERE!😨
I love this show so much! Its really a tear jerker and I hate that but its so great to see!
I had one of those flower toy hampers as a kid-seeing them brings back memories! It was a pretty fun little prop
I think Hannah has probably grown up to be a pretty smart young lady. She’s incredibly inquisitive and she often ponders things that are really deep.
In the comments of part one she tells something about herself a few years ago
Very interesting but that music has got to go!! At least tone it down so you can hear people speak.
Dante is so cute
When he wipes the other kid's nose!!
@Nicola Hargrave what a great mum. Much love to you and your family
@@belindasmith3033 I'm his younger brother all he does is sleep now, our mom is the best
It is interesting how a parent's neurosis can rub off so easily on their child(ren). Little Lewis has lovely parents but they worry about him too much.
MsB inNYC they are the problem hes so sweet though
thats part of being a parent ur supposed to worry u don't want ur children to nave broken bones do u its not just the child being hurt but ur wallet as well think about all \the medical bills u have to pay if he or she does wind up with broken bones and as for the child bones take longer to heal its not like ur average scrap cut bump or bruise
These are all great parents, kids don't come with a rule book so it's learning every step of the way for all of us.
So, is the whole reason for Dante's constant whining throughout the day is because he's not had a full night's sleep?
Wouldn’t you be irritable and miserable all day if you woke up 30+ times all night long, every single night? Sleep deprivation makes us crazy!
The patents could of also took Louis swimming to get him touching wet stuff.
Great idea! That would have been perfect for him! Or play in the rain, jump in puddles and mud.
So many amazing revelations.
Is the next episode coming today? I cant wait to see all the episodes seriously. I've waited for this show to be somewhere on the internet forever and FINALLY it is
Love to see more of these its really good .
Oh geeze I thought my headphones were broken!!
******NOTE TO VIDEOGRAPHER*********
Please keep the music and background noise quieter - at times it is so loud it is very difficult if not impossible to hear the dialogue.
The dad of Louis is so nice... he just wanted the best and his wife also.
I am cursus how everyone is now...
Its about 13 years later
Dante is the cutest and sweetest little boy,!,
The sound editors on this show are AWFUL.
Please fix. This happened in the first episode and many people complained but you didn’t do anything about it😩
It's part of the show. Stop complaining like these kids and just enjoy that it's available to all of us.
Jane Tilmann I would like to hear what they are talking about. It is a good show but not if you can’t hear it all because of loud music when the narrators are talking. There are other comments about the sound on here too.
Kas4711 This is old, they can’t change it.
Kas4711
I agree with you, Kas.
And Jane u are a rude person!
Dianne Harrington Thank you really they should not have let the show go to air with such bad sound. The show is really good and we don’t have these types of shows in Australia. They are good learning tools but we need to be able to hear what people are saying. Cheers Kas 🐨🇦🇺
Oh my god, the bloody music gave me a migraine.
telling Hannah to be a big girl and not cry isn’t a good move. she should be able to feel her emotions and cry. her feelings are completely valid-she’s surrounded by toddlers and she feels like she’s being grouped in with them, when she’s much older. Dad should have acknowledged that she’s much older, and that he understands why she’s upset
The parents with the two little girls know how to take care of each other but doesn't know what to so with children. They will get it because they want to know.
Dante mama is one beautiful woman, her son is so adorable
I think Jessica's parents , specifically her dad is very cold towards her and her big sister
No hugging and kissing at all
Lewis is soon cute no matter what he does, iwish to have a sweet kid like him one day
Oh gosh kids! That little girl talking about the ugly ducking melted my heat❣️
Do kids not have to be in car seats/ booster seats there? How is that even a little okay?
This was 15 years ago
You Tube Kids had to be in car seats over 40 yrs ago!
Not really in the UK when this was filmed
Still off topic but still, the doc is a downright fox. and what she does for these families is absolutely incredible. I can not believe how much she can accomplish in this small amount of time.
When will the next episodes be uploaded?
Hooray... have been waiting for this episode
Kids help kids because they understand each other. Adults are kids at heart. Neighborhood help raise children.
_Yes, I definitely read that as fussy the first time._
she is realy good to see the foodphobia as a resault, do nothing dirty.
Susan Sala I agree. I don't see why some folks make such a huge deal about it.
@8.42, love how she yells at the toy car
Who stands over their child like that when they're eating? Wrong.
The little girls have the same joyful laugh as their dad.
What an unhappy bunch of people. Adults and kids are all miserable. Maybe the kids need a break from the parents
Hannah is so like her dad, the little ducks and the ugly duckling story 😭😭😭
The fussy eater was eating the mucus coming out of his mouth and the mom kept feeding him,its gross
Oh shut up u idiot u probably dug big boogers out ur nose and ate them when u we're a kid
They should of called Jo Frost to help these parents! Jo Frost is the best.
I Frikin' Love Jo She Is So Amazing
Jo is life
I like Tanya more
Stephy Nicole tania is better thsn jo
Like them both. Anyone know of any others like thus, they’re really interesting to watch.
at 5.12 - parenting level - snooze
wow Lewis parents ruined him being scary
