Hell is NOT literate. It is a metaphor. There are a hundred different denominations in Christany. Baptist catholics mormon Pentecosta,etcl 5:29 , and all interpret the Bible differently. Catholics and mormons have their own separate books that they follow.

You don't know what you don't know and if you cannot steelman the other side, you're not really believing because of knowledge, only because of indoctrination, which is the problem with this simple minded video Allen's produced here. He should be able to explain the opposite side of each point.. Not only does he not do this, I don't even know if knows that it is, thus it's the blind leading the blind. To know something, you must know the reasons why it's true and to know that you must know the counter arguments.

I received a 100% on a paper on a christian class where the last sentence said, "I cannot in good conscious state that there is a way to 100% prove that the bible is true." The reasoning behind this is because we call our belief faith. "It is by faith that we our saved." If we could prove this, then faith would become irrelevant. "Faith is the confidence in what we HOPE for, and the assurance of what we do NOT see."

They use logic constantly when it suits them, then throw it out the window whenever they start to be shown how they are wrong about something. Great video Allen! I’m just reading Frank Turek’s “ I don’t have enough faith to be an atheist” and it covers a lot of these same points. Keep doing this amazing work for God and don’t worry too much about how each video performs. Focus on what the Holy Spirit puts in your heart. I believed God existed for 20 years before I put my faith in Jesus for even thought He had any relevance at all. Christ is King and I pray that your son comes to know that quickly. And that he honors you as his parents.

Great video! I’d also add that many theories against the resurrection are based on things we know can’t be true. For example: hundreds of people (or dozens if you want to use only the disciples/apostles as the example) cannot mass hallucinate the same thing-refuting the “they hallucinated” claims. Which of course gets even wonkier once you take into consideration Paul seeing Jesus. Also, the Sanhedrin would’ve had guards posted at the tomb and it’s illogical to conclude they would’ve allowed anyone near to steal the body of Christ considering their life would be on the line if they didn’t fulfill their duties properly. Silly. We don't have to refute the claim of hallucination accounts, we just have to suppose that one person lied. Since we know people lie, and Christian apologists lie all the time (like Allen Parr lies about J. Warner Wallace), the what is more likely? A dead guy rose or one guy lied? Easy, one guy lied. Paul never saw Jesus, Jesus was long dead before Paul became a leader in the new emerging cult. Paul said, have you even read your own book I wonder, is that he knew it was true because Jesus appeared to him and the scripture -- in other words, it's Paul's claim you're believing, and Paul could have lied, easy-peasy. The guards at the tomb isn't historical, it's silly. Nobody cared about the claims, it's silly. You're just imagining things. The story is fiction.
The Sanhedrin would not have posted guards at the tomb because like most crucified victims Jesus would have been left to rot on the cross and be eaten by carrion and then thrown into a mass grave.

But, we can also grant, I think, if somehow Jesus' family convinced the Romans to let them take him down for a proper burial, neither the Jews nor the Romans would care to put a guard on tomb, that's just a silly Christian thing, a position aruged because they don't know history. A. The Romans wouldn't have cared less about a Jewish religious fight, so thinking they'd put a guard is dumb. B. The Jews didn't believe in a Messiah resurrecting, it's a silly idea, and thus they'd be disinterested in the whole thing. It's like Christians arguing, "The neighbors put a guard on their chimney because they were worried about Santa Claus getting burned. No, really, it's a major concern around here, Santa getting burned. And since we know that Santa didn't go to any burn units, it worked!"

Nobody can prove anything. That's why it's futile to argue with anyone. You believe what you believe. It's personal,and nobody can make you believe in anything or anyone. That's why it's called faith.
Not a very good starter kit actually. These points have been debunked time and time again. They are mostly fallacies and only people who don't have time to look into them, or don't care for actual truth might believe without research.

My trust and relationship with God doesn't solely hinge on "proof" that he exists but faith in Him and his Words. Yes, these are good points IF your goal is to shut down mutual understanding and discourse in favor of gotcha questions. No one will learn anything, and the people you talk to might rightly steer away from talking to you again if you insist on asking these kinds of leading questions. This video is a great example of what NOT to do. See my other replies in these comments if you want to know how the other side might respond when given the courtesy of time to speak. It would be far better to approach discussions with genuine curiosity instead of an agenda.
I like the way Cliff Knechtle (sp?) puts it: every religion makes truth claims. If Mohammad's truth claims were correct, then I myself am going to hell, but if Christ's truth claims were accurate then I am going to heaven and anyone who rejects his way and teachings will spend eternity apart from God, which is hell.

@calmingwavesjulian God doesn't want you to blindly believe everything. He wants you to be skeptical, ask questions, seek answers. It's what you do with that that matters most. Will you be damned if you don't believe all scriptures 100%? No. Everything comes back to Jesus. Do you believe truly that he died for your sins and your salvation? Have you accepted him a Lord and seek to follow him and his will for your life and not your own? If both if those are a yes you can rest assured you are saved, but seek God's guidance on the scriptures and he will reveal the answers.
@calmingwavesjulian the other question I would have is who said that part of scripture was not inspired by God. It is not only the writing of each piece of the Bible, but also the inclusion of writings in the Bible that is inspired by God. By saying the Bible is inspired B God means he willed every piece of the Bible to be there for a reason and is true. I don't believe a different author would make any of that be undone, nor make the entire Bible irrelevant.
@calmingwavesjulian as with anything of faith you can never know anything for 100% certainty. There is enough evidence to show that the Bible is reliable and accurate. Nothing written by mere flawed humans could be that reliable throughout the length of time it has been. Only the true inspired word of God can maintain its credibility and truth forever. As with many things, can you prove it wrong. The Bible does state it is the inspired word of God, do you have any evidence it is not? Any proof of anything untrue in the bible?

I like how pointing out that there's historical evidence outside the Bible reminds us that our faith isn't in the Bible, but in the God of the Bible. @@calmingwavesjulian alright. Firstly, how do you know it wasn't written by John? Secondly, what does "inspire" mean to you, especially in this context? Also, you're saying even if all parts of the Gospels are true and if Paul wrote every letter we have from him, it doesn't mean God is behind them. So you're proposing that by "true" you mean written by the authors they claim to be written by? And do you mean that if the Gospels are true - in that what is written is what happened, your logic still tells you not to trust the scriptures? Even though they are true?? Lastly, God doesn't damn people for making a mistake (also, it's not always our brains. Most times it's our hearts), He damns us because of our fallen/sinful nature and our rejection of Him. I'm a sinful man, but I'm honest enough to admit this...an honesty that stems from not just my conscience but also, accepting Christ.

I have always pointed people who are trying to determine if the bible is true it's all about prophecy, just look at zechariah 12 3 and how it applies to what is happening right now in Israel and keep in mind that the book of zechariah was written 500 years before Jesus Christ

Yeah, I went from believing Christian to atheist BY SEEKING. Plus, a Mormon or Muslim could give your same Hebrew 11:6 advice--faith leads to all kinds of false religions, it's a bad path to truth.

This has got to be the most absurd argument I have ever heard. "The universe has a cause, therefore God." How about saying instead; the universe had a beginning and we do not know the cause, and neither do you. Inserting your idea, of your societies idea, of your sects idea of a god is outrageous. Even the Bible warns us about this call them wolves hiding amongst the sheep, so they may sound like us most of the time until you dig into the real stuff and they'll flake. One of those things being sin, we've been so propagandized that many Christians have come to adopt the "Thou shalt be nice" mantra as the 11th commandment so they'll hesitate to call out sin for fear that the world will chastise and/or shun them.

Hi Allen, I wanted to mention that I really liked the video. And I appreciate your videos. I really hope that you don't leave utube. There is a lady with a channel called (Life with a vent.) She never got to follow her dream of becoming a doctor. Because of serious medical conditions she developed. And I think she might not be with us for much longer. Here is the one thing I could never wrap my head around. What did the phenomenon of the resurrection to ascension look like? I mean to be physically raised and ascended almost seems like His body was transformed metaphysically to a spiritual being. I mean to watch Him float up into the sky? Where did He go? Did a dimension to Heaven open up? I guess what I’m saying is…..what did it really look like realtime? I can’t wrap my head around it. Blows my mind.
These are good questions. Like did Jesus have a space helmet? How did his body deal with the dangerous conditions of our upper atmosphere? Based on the earliest writings of Paul, he only ever refers to a celestial Jesus in a vision. Never claiming to interact with a physically reanimated person.

Great video! I was interested in researching the authors you listed and I have 3 of them done so far: Greek philosopher Celsus for example. His work “The True Doctrine”- had multiple excerpts of criticisms on the gospel and reeked of pride of his Greek counterparts over the existence of God and His influence, and he denounced the divinity of Christ. Id compare his points to those of the Pharisees. Pliny the Younger in his letter, Epistulae X. 96 to then Emperor Trajan, was an official who persecuted Christians and forced them to curse and renounce Christ, and those who wouldn’t would be punished. And Tacitus referred to the gospel in his book- “The Annals- Book 15” as a “mischievous superstition” that was indeed spreading around Judea and Rome. I researched these 3 out of the 9 you mentioned and so far I don’t disagree to your point that by taking each of their accounts, you can construct the events in the Bible. As for these 3, I can see the events in Acts being played out.

I received a 100% on a paper on a christian class where the last sentence said, "I cannot in good conscious state that there is a way to 100% prove that the bible is true." The reasoning behind this is because we call our belief faith. "It is by faith that we our saved." If we could prove this, then faith would become irrelevant. "Faith is the confidence in what we HOPE for, and the assurance of what we do NOT see."

Great video! I’d also add that many theories against the resurrection are based on things we know can’t be true. For example: hundreds of people (or dozens if you want to use only the disciples/apostles as the example) cannot mass hallucinate the same thing-refuting the “they hallucinated” claims. Which of course gets even wonkier once you take into consideration Paul seeing Jesus.
Also, the Sanhedrin would’ve had guards posted at the tomb and it’s illogical to conclude they would’ve allowed anyone near to steal the body of Christ considering their life would be on the line if they didn’t fulfill their duties properly.

Paul never saw Jesus, Jesus was long dead before Paul became a leader in the new emerging cult. The guards at the tomb isn't historical, it's silly. Nobody cared about the claims, it's silly. You're just imagining things.

The Sanhedrin would not have posted guards at the tomb because like most crucified victims Jesus would have been left to rot on the cross and be eaten by carrion and then thrown into a mass grave.

Yes, these are good points IF your goal is to shut down mutual understanding and discourse in favor of gotcha questions. No one will learn anything, and the people you talk to might rightly steer away from talking to you again if you insist on asking these kinds of leading questions.

I like the way Cliff Knechtle (sp?) puts it: every religion makes truth claims. @calmingwavesjulian God doesn't want you to blindly believe everything. He wants you to be skeptical, ask questions, seek answers. It's what you do with that that matters most. Will you be damned if you don't believe all scriptures 100%? No. Everything comes back to Jesus. Do you believe truly that he died for your sins and your salvation? Have you accepted him a Lord and seek to follow him and his will for your life and not your own? If both if those are a yes you can rest assured you are saved, but seek God's guidance on the scriptures and he will reveal the answers.
@calmingwavesjulian the other question I would have is who said that part of scripture was not inspired by God. It is not only the writing of each piece of the Bible, but also the inclusion of writings in the Bible that is inspired by God. By saying the Bible is inspired B God means he willed every piece of the Bible to be there for a reason and is true. I don't believe a different author would make any of that be undone, nor make the entire Bible irrelevant.

Nothing written by mere flawed humans could be that reliable throughout the length of time it has been. Only the true inspired word of God can maintain its credibility and truth forever. As with many things, can you prove it wrong. The Bible does state it is the inspired word of God, do you have any evidence it is not? Any proof of anything untrue in the bible?

Here's your God's good loving judgement from a different perspective, in 1940's Germany imagine one 20 year-old female Jewish college student. She's a big liar, and she does not believe in Jesus's resurrection even after hearing a street preacher tell her. She ends up in a concentration camp she is s3xually assaulted, starved, beaten and finally gassed to death--is she going to wake up in God's concentration camp called Hell for eternity? Is this your God's good justice. Don't forget there are plenty of Jewish, Muslim and Hindus who will apparently be in Jesus 's concentration camp, tortured worst than any human dictator can inflict, by the God of justice.

I like how pointing out that there's historical evidence outside the Bible reminds us that our faith isn't in the Bible, but in the God of the Bible. And do you mean that if the Gospels are true - in that what is written is what happened, your logic still tells you not to trust the scriptures? Even though they are true??
Lastly, God doesn't damn people for making a mistake (also, it's not always our brains. Most times it's our hearts), He damns us because of our fallen/sinful nature and our rejection of Him. I'm a sinful man, but I'm honest enough to admit this...an honesty that stems from not just my conscience but also, accepting Christ.

I have always pointed people who are trying to determine if the bible is true it's all about prophecy, just look at zechariah 12 3 and how it applies to what is happening right now in Israel and keep in mind that the book of zechariah was written 500 years before Jesus Christ

@@nicolebalmier The answer there is simple as well: if they call themselves Christian but try to bend and break the primary theological issue of The Trinity, Sin and Salvation, they're not Christian. Even the Bible warns us about this call them wolves hiding amongst the sheep, so they may sound like us most of the time until you dig into the real stuff and they'll flake. One of those things being sin, we've been so propagandized that many Christians have come to adopt the "Thou shalt be nice" mantra as the 11th commandment so they'll hesitate to call out sin for fear that the world will chastise and/or shun them.

Here is the one thing I could never wrap my head around. What did the phenomenon of the resurrection to ascension look like? I mean to be physically raised and ascended almost seems like His body was transformed metaphysically to a spiritual being. I mean to watch Him float up into the sky? Where did He go? Did a dimension to Heaven open up?
I guess what I’m saying is…..what did it really look like realtime? I can’t wrap my head around it. Blows my mind.

Based on the earliest writings of Paul, he only ever refers to a celestial Jesus in a vision. Never claiming to interact with a physically reanimated person.

Great video! I was interested in researching the authors you listed and I have 3 of them done so far:
Greek philosopher Celsus for example. His work “The True Doctrine”- had multiple excerpts of criticisms on the gospel and reeked of pride of his Greek counterparts over the existence of God and His influence, and he denounced the divinity of Christ. Id compare his points to those of the Pharisees.
Pliny the Younger in his letter, Epistulae X. 96 to then Emperor Trajan, was an official who persecuted Christians and forced them to curse and renounce Christ, and those who wouldn’t would be punished.
And Tacitus referred to the gospel in his book- “The Annals- Book 15” as a “mischievous superstition” that was indeed spreading around Judea and Rome.
I researched these 3 out of the 9 you mentioned and so far I don’t disagree to your point that by taking each of their accounts, you can construct the events in the Bible. As for these 3, I can see the events in Acts being played out.
If he continues to improve it, this is the worst I will ever be.
