At least someone changed the weapon, Sunglasses, plus knifes and acrobaties! You will loose them before you know it! I've seen people redesigning her, but forgetting practicality.
@eestiny9734 Honestly, for the longest time, I didn't even notice she has knives 😅 Sleep deprivation, haha. I just automatically assumed she punches bad guys (like Vi in Arcane). My face was in Pikachu mode when I noticed that her weapons are knives ( • - •)🔪

@gayanudugampola8973 Yes! With cosplay, you assume a role of a character you like. Kind of similar thing happens when you select a character for playing. Maybe not as "fully", but you still connect yourself to a hero.
In my opinion, Bazz would look better if she kept some of those purple elements and the poofy hair. Overall though, I think they look waaaaay better than the actual designs. 10/10

And she actually had her poofy hair in the beginning, but I scrapped it, because by the time I started coloring, I didn't have enough energy to solve this problem and just wanted to be done with it, get some sleep and move on to finishing my other redesign project that I'm actually passionate about. This Concord video was very spontaneous :D
Finally, someone who ecknowledges that attractive=/=hot in character design. Actually giving the cat lady a unique pose alone did a _lot._ They were all just stood there is bland defailt poses, it was awful. Seeing the sniper rifle and starn look on the second one shows me her possible kit and personality immediately. This is very important in an ensamble.
@magnus1383 Thank you! 🩷 The more I paint and look at different faces, drawing styles, etc, the more beauty I see in more unconventional things and features. Attractiveness is so much more than a bikini and a six-pack. It has many forms. Roadhog isn't hot or conventionally beautiful. But the more I was looking at his appearance, analyzing values, colors, shapes and details, the more beauty I saw in his design. It's SO good! I can't believe how anyone can think of any kind of beauty and attractiveness as something bad and harmful.
the cat girl doesn't look too bad as picture but the character select scene, her expression is something, it's like those crazy people on the parking lot that you try to not make eyes contact before you get into the car

Yeah, people need to realise a character doesn't need to be sexy or hot to be appealing. Literally making them cool, cute, or something that is enough.
You know what the Concord cast looks like? NFT characters: idk, they just give off that purposely ugly and generic, randomly generated characters you always see in NFTs.
@bluejay43 At least those AI images usually have good color pallettes and pleasant faces. They are tuned to look good. Otherwise, people wouldn't want to generate anything. Concord characters seem mathematicaly engineered to appear unpleasant from head to toes.
@@kari_matles I was more talking about the NFTs like Bad Apes; where the assets/art are made purposely ugly because NFT buyers don't really care about the art, they care about the "investment" of getting an NFT.
"randomly generated" couldn't have said it better. It's like clicking a few times on the randomize button in any character creation screen and saying "yeah, this green haired woman with the blue beard, huge scars and black lipstick is perfect!"
Okay I'm gonna say it, the design of the original shoulder pads looks like it's made of innards, the smoothed out and smaller design looks like it actually belongs as a piece of clothing.
@angelalycos2.076 Thank you! Yeah, muted reds (especially on knee pads), rubbery texture and their overall form instantly made me think of innards 🫣 And I can't say these "pipe" elements can't work, I think they can! But it would certainly require more time to try to implement them in a better way.
I love how you gave them personality in their faces, in their poses, in their outfits that make them look DIFFERENT in tone and personality from one another. Concord they all just look like they are disagreeable.
Very lovely re-designs and i think they are honestly better than that other video that keeps popping up, where he made the characters look like runway models, which i think isnt a compelling idea for this genre of games. You also have great editing skills:)

But I still wanted it to be a learning experience, so setting limitations on time and freedom made it a really nice challenge :)
The 'Concord' character designs' main problem is their lack of focus. As you noted, there's confusion whether Bazz is supposed to be a tank- in which case, she should pack a HEAVY machine gun instead of relatively small knives- or a scout- in which case, she needs to lose the HEAVY looking shoulder pads on her coat. I proposed making her theme "vampirism" in a comment on another TH-camr's redesign video- maybe make her knives drain her targets' blood to replenish her HP, in addition to other vampire powers, like control over the weather, which Dracula demonstrates in Bram Stoker's classic novel? Your ideas differ from mine, but they're still notably better than the originals. Sony should be ASHAMED how easy it was for you to improve on a design the company literally spent MILLIONS of DOLLARS on.
@longtsun8286 Oh, I love the idea of a vampire character! And agree on a heavy machine gun and a lack of focus. Other commenter pointed out It-Z is actually a hacker! Never would have guessed. Yes, that's why I was confident I could pull it off. The mistakes are on a beginner level! I can't believe it was an artist who made a final decision. I spent an evening/night on redesigns, using the first ideas I came up with.
dunno but some of their design has an old sci-fi starwars look to me, the pants and puffy jackets is the retro future look it's that mix of low looking tech with almost impossible parts magitech that we can only dream of 2:50 the 3 on the right might be a remake of the original trilogy in some alt timeline Kyps as C-3PO on the left, well ya really can't beat the classic
The most amount of value I've ever gotten from Concord is watching people like Fleekazoid take pot shots at the characters, especially Daw. Heck, even I took a stab at redesigning one of the characters once... kinda. During a friend's stream, I felt like doodling a quick redux of Daw in an attempt to make him more stylistically appealing, tweaking his clothes and giving him more stylistic features and proportions.
10x better than any thing Ubisoft is doing. Your redesigns are pleasing to see and well made. well articulated and the details make it clear what character are intended to be.
@nuclearsum2566 I think Ubisoft gets mentioned a lot due to their notoriety nowadays, not because people confuse them with Sony. At least from what I've seen, of course!
The "but its fiction it's a video game" argument falls apart when you remember that video games, like any piece of media, can reflect the views, ideas and values held by people in the real world and who made it. However you definetely did an amazing job with these redesigns, not only are they great but the artstyle is really cool too. It gives a really unique and nostalgic vibe.
The best thing to come out of Concord is how a lot of people took a look at it and went "I can do a better job than that" Your redesigns are cool, but personally I would try to stick as much as possible to the original intent and role of the characters, but changing them more is also interesting.

The same can be said about my second video, though a bit less, because I went back and corrected Bazz and It-Z. I wasn't reading about characters as a joke, too (kind of).With my third video that I plan, I want to be more serious about their roles. And maybe I'll correct something again.
I stumbled on to your video as I was doing research on (what not to do) character designs for my upcoming indie videogame -- first off your content is SUPER entertaining, and secondly of all the Bazz Redesigns, yours is actually the best from a "Game Designer" point of view.. Baz isn't supposed to be a tank, Baz is supposed to be an agile flippy-dippy scout harass character... which means you "accidently" made her actually look like her real role by making her a sniper. Getting rid of her long coat, and tightening her hair into a combat-style actually would make her work better! Your It-Z redesign really gives off a prince-of-Persia feel and that makes the character look a lot more fun, although from a tech perspective firing with a foot would be a WHOLE lot of work, but you could save it for a rare finisher, like she wraps her taile around a target and similar to nightcrawler from X-men uses the closest appendage to do the job! I really enjoyed watching the sped up version of your process, your work, gonna go watch more videos!

I didn't even research which classes these characters were supposed to have because I wanted to judge their looks from the perspective of someone who doesn't know anything about the game. Concords character designer (and general game creator) was originally going to be Geckogaming, one of the best character designers, coders, writers, (etc) but instead they fired him because he said Lennox should actually look like a lizard. And Everyone in the world agrees with Gecko.
Hell, fields of mistria and the ‘my time at’ series and even in cornucopia, they have characters of all skin tones, weights, heights etc and they STILL look decent at the very least and really attractive at best. There is absolutely no excuse for concord. Especially when certain characters were made as horrible depictions of real people as a lazy attempt at ‘diversity’. It’s so much more offensive tbh.
It-z is the only character that looks pretty much better and something that caught my attention for some reason unlike the rest of the characters that looks boring

You know, the new designs for IT-Z is something that I would take to use as a DnD character. An agile, quick fighter(probably either a Monk or a fighter) that uses light one-handed pistols in either her feet or her hands. While Bazz... If you're familiar, she looks like she would belong somewhere in the Sift Heads flash game series as a boss fight.
I was surprised to see that I've been watching for 10 minutes already when the video ended. I'm not really artistically inclined but I found this entertaining. I like what you did with the characters, especially Bazz Great timing on the video and an unexpected quality from such a small channel. You got some skills.

When disgining a charcter for a role they should look like it without showing their weapon or stats. The fact that Bazz is a tank is silly. Just by looking at them I thought they were a sniper or someother long range character. Not a tank.
That is exactly why her design fails! You see her as a sniper (well, turned out, my brain interpreted her that way, too), I saw her as someone who punches hard (a la Vi from Arcane). And these glasses confused me even more. The only information her design gives me is that she is a "strong woman."
Ay mean if she's a tank she could still snipe the backlines squishies. Actually that can be a very good design of a tank or at least original. I think that doesn't threaten other things threaten the back lines that could be very cool
For my opinion. Bazz should using battle rifle like M14 type rifle with 20 bullets in magazine. You make those 2 characters way better job than Jared Chavez - Senior Character Artist at Firewalk Studios.

I don't think that they are better. IT-Z is already good enough in many ways just needs another outfit i feel like or variety of fits. Ngl thats the only good design in all of Concord I aint the only one who thinks this. Bazz I would straight up kick her out of the game & make a new character from scratch. I have absolute creative freedom because I dont have to appeal to tokenist ideologes pressuring me so I can even make Bazz white and just do whatever I feel like feels an assassin female character. Feels good to be free.
My painting philosophy is that not every work is great, but every work can be saved to at least an ok condition. I want to show that these characters can work with some alterations, and you don't even have to think about it much. There is no contrast in the original designs, no variety in textures, not even a good pose. And even though It-Z stands out as the only interesting design, she still has problems with values and colors. The first time around I tried to change the color palette, the second time I brought her green back (because it's more interesting, in my opinion) and gave her alternative costume to add some personality to her overall bland look. My goal is not to appeal to anybody because it's simply not possible. Deleting or changing these characters completely would be too easy. And not appropriate. After all, people searching for Concord redesigns want to see Concord redesigns, not my original characters. I treat this project as a good art challenge. You work within certain time and creative constraints with a bad (on almost every level) base and try to spin it to make it look better. You teach yourself to think and paint fast.
your bazz design is a lot better than the in-game one, the it-z design is also good, although I personally think that it go a bit too much into the feline features but I found it interesting how this is the first concord "designfix" video that I have seen that have it-z, usually people leave It-z alone, probably because she is likely the best design in the whole game (although that is not high praise), the only problem I see when it comes to the 3d model would be the fact that the cheeks makes it seem as if she has an allergic reaction that have just been triggered, so personally I would slim down the face a bit, it would have the added effect of making her look more model like (but I am perfectly aware that that would never happen due to political reasons), maybe it is because she seem to actually be kind of fun, her personality really resemble the genki girl personality which is also one of the easier ways to make the audience fall in love with the character, it might sound weird but I genuinely like it-z, she is in my opinion the only kind of decent character, sure some improvements could be make but apart from some small problems the design is decent now bazz on the other hand seem to be somebody playing a cruel joke, it is obvious that somebody went into blender (or whatever 3d program was used) and decided to create the most unappetizing-to-heterosexual-guys woman possible, I am actually kind of in awe of how awful it is, if this is representative of their abilities then the 3d modeler would do amazing work in the 3d horror game field and I would implore them to go from 3d modeling humans to 3d modeling monsters since they are halfway there already, no serious the bazz 3d model is peak modern social justice influenced character design (which if they were smart would never include in the game and delete the hell-file before it infect other 3d files on the pc (just to be safe)

i kinda wish the afro stayed. it was the best thing about that design. where they went wrong with the black woman was her body type. the clothes didn't accentuate her body. she was too covered up or she looked too fat in the clothes they gave her. at this point people would save their game if they just make a few sexy beautiful characters like the fire descendant did and call it a day. it will save your game instead of making big fugly characters. if a person gonna go for big, make an outfit that compliments a big girl's shape and not give her a bulky mech outfit or a big coat and some pants that is covering up too much and making them look even bulkier. some animation companies are very r@cist when it comes down to designs for black characters. and im glad this time it got called out and now people dont even wanna play a game where ALL CHARACTERS are fugly af.... only somewhat interesting character that they have is the afro girl just change the damn outfit and give her one that accentuates her shape.
The designs are better imo but i think they still don't work that well in the videogame but weirdly enough i think they would look better for some other kind of media. Be it movie, artbook or comic.
i'm going to be honest . it-z is the design i mind the least along with haymar , though they still need reworks , and ftlog what are those names , please change them , retcon them or what ever , i'm just saying that those two aren't perfect but you have to change less than with the others

So this is me speaking as a hobby artist and a casual gamer I really like your It-Z redesign. Her face looks more cat-like now, and doesn't have that thing where if she even tries smiling, her whole face scrunches like shes in pain (seriously whats wrong with her face in the game). But the funny part is It-Z is so shit at conveying what her actual job is that even though the redesign is good, it still doesn't actually tell you what It-Zs in game role is (Note: Shes a Sombra type. Hacking, teleports, all that shit, even wielding an Uzi like her. Why hacking and machinery? Wheres her tools? How is she teleporting by summoning these little balls and clicking her fingers? It'd be like if you had Tracer but removed the Chrono Accelerator off her, so now you're not even sure how is she moving through time.) which isn't your fault, the Concord team had 8 years to figure this out. Meanwhile, I like your Bazz idea. What I like about seeing so many different artists Concord redesigns is seeing so many expressions of the artists to the ideas of what could have been

I'm not that familiar with mechanics of such games (I know there are usually tanks, engineers, healers), and I specifically didn't research Concord characters' roles to go blind into it (though, in hindsight, I had to do at least a little bit of research), so I thought that maybe she is some kind of light parkour/stealth character... I love seeing other people's discussions and critiques, because, as a student who continues to actively absorb any valuable information on art and design, I find this situation being one of the best examples of how NOT to design a character. It's THE perfect teaching material.
@@kari_matles oh trust me, most did. I did too and thought "So I'm assuming she's a Scout type with high mobility and wall climbs?" Turns out the answer was not exactly that. This is a recurring issue with Concords designs. Terrible communication of role combined with lackluster to boring to incomplete to genuinely bad designs. Put up silhouettes of the characters and you'll see that the characters are mostly the same shape; realistic humanoid. It's just boring and conveys nothing. TF2 perfected this back in 2008 and it's insane to see a game in 2024 fucking this up. I have a personal grudge against Lennox for being the lamest reptilian I've ever seen as a man who appreciates reptilian monster and alien designs
@ARStudios2000 I cut the joke about Lennox being Yondu with a flu 🤧 TF2 is perfect. I never played this game, I don't even know their names, but I already love these guys. I feel the same way about It-Z because she has some features and elements that remind me of my own original character. That's why she was the first one I chose.
95% of the people who buy video games are straight men, just make the games for this target audience something that Koreans and Japanese understand perfectly.

When a company spends hundreds of millions of dollars on a project, it does not want to create anything too risky because losing hundreds of millions is catastrophic. You want to go with the safest option that appeals to the broadest audience. Nowadays, it seems like companies try to appeal to an imagined audience. There's nothing good or bad in their buyers being mostly men just as there's nothing bad, I don't know, in doll collectors being mostly women.

wow, it's the frist video that i see these abominations not being completly remade and i don't really like it, there is no saving point for these characters just change it for real and show your re-imagination of how they should be, after all there isn't any possible way to make they worse...

I saw it as a very good opportunity to challenge myself through limiting the amount of time and creative freedom I have. I always tell myself and others that not every work is great, but every work can be saved to at least an ok state, that nothing is completely lost. That's the way I try to see it.
Concord redesigns becoming a trend is pretty neat, it’s fun to see all the ways people make bland looking designs far more eye catching and fun. So far I’ve only disliked one persons attempts at redesigns because the guy in question openly called himself a “chud” (a term used to refer to people who are openly proud of holding bigoted views) and he kept making overtly weird comments about LGBT people for some strange reason (in particular he kept using “gay” in the same way a generic school bully from a 90s or 00s movie would use it).
@BloodRedFox2008 It's a good trend because it means more people through these videos will understand how important the work of designers is. Far too often, I hear that concept art isn't a serious job, that it takes to click 2 buttons in PS to magically make a good design appear.

I think one of the best ways to ask if a design is good or not.
Is to ask the question "Would a person want to cosplay as the character?"

For me, it would be too easy to remake them completely or as models, even though I didn't have enough desire to spend too much time on redesigns. But I still wanted it to be a learning experience, so setting limitations on time and freedom made it a really nice challenge :)

The 'Concord' character designs' main problem is their lack of focus. As you noted, there's confusion whether Bazz is supposed to be a tank- in which case, she should pack a HEAVY machine gun instead of relatively small knives- or a scout- in which case, she needs to lose the HEAVY looking shoulder pads on her coat. I proposed making her theme "vampirism" in a comment on another TH-camr's redesign video- maybe make her knives drain her targets' blood to replenish her HP, in addition to other vampire powers, like control over the weather, which Dracula demonstrates in Bram Stoker's classic novel?
Your ideas differ from mine, but they're still notably better than the originals. Sony should be ASHAMED how easy it was for you to improve on a design the company literally spent MILLIONS of DOLLARS on.

The most amount of value I've ever gotten from Concord is watching people like Fleekazoid take pot shots at the characters, especially Daw.
Heck, even I took a stab at redesigning one of the characters once... kinda. During a friend's stream, I felt like doodling a quick redux of Daw in an attempt to make him more stylistically appealing, tweaking his clothes and giving him more stylistic features and proportions.

The "but its fiction it's a video game" argument falls apart when you remember that video games, like any piece of media, can reflect the views, ideas and values held by people in the real world and who made it. However you definetely did an amazing job with these redesigns, not only are they great but the artstyle is really cool too. It gives a really unique and nostalgic vibe.

Your redesigns are cool, but personally I would try to stick as much as possible to the original intent and role of the characters, but changing them more is also interesting.

The same can be said about my second video, though a bit less, because I went back and corrected Bazz and It-Z. I wasn't reading about characters as a joke, too (kind of).With my third video that I plan, I want to be more serious about their roles. And maybe I'll correct something again.
I stumbled on to your video as I was doing research on (what not to do) character designs for my upcoming indie videogame -- first off your content is SUPER entertaining, and secondly of all the Bazz Redesigns, yours is actually the best from a "Game Designer" point of view.. Baz isn't supposed to be a tank, Baz is supposed to be an agile flippy-dippy scout harass character... which means you "accidently" made her actually look like her real role by making her a sniper. Getting rid of her long coat, and tightening her hair into a combat-style actually would make her work better! Your It-Z redesign really gives off a prince-of-Persia feel and that makes the character look a lot more fun, although from a tech perspective firing with a foot would be a WHOLE lot of work, but you could save it for a rare finisher, like she wraps her taile around a target and similar to nightcrawler from X-men uses the closest appendage to do the job! I really enjoyed watching the sped up version of your process, your work, gonna go watch more videos!

I didn't even research which classes these characters were supposed to have because I wanted to judge their looks from the perspective of someone who doesn't know anything about the game. Concords character designer (and general game creator) was originally going to be Geckogaming, one of the best character designers, coders, writers, (etc) but instead they fired him because he said Lennox should actually look like a lizard. And Everyone in the world agrees with Gecko.

Hell, fields of mistria and the ‘my time at’ series and even in cornucopia, they have characters of all skin tones, weights, heights etc and they STILL look decent at the very least and really attractive at best. There is absolutely no excuse for concord. Especially when certain characters were made as horrible depictions of real people as a lazy attempt at ‘diversity’. It’s so much more offensive tbh.
It-z is the only character that looks pretty much better and something that caught my attention for some reason unlike the rest of the characters that looks boring

You know, the new designs for IT-Z is something that I would take to use as a DnD character. An agile, quick fighter(probably either a Monk or a fighter) that uses light one-handed pistols in either her feet or her hands. While Bazz... If you're familiar, she looks like she would belong somewhere in the Sift Heads flash game series as a boss fight.

When disgining a charcter for a role they should look like it without showing their weapon or stats. The fact that Bazz is a tank is silly. Just by looking at them I thought they were a sniper or someother long range character. Not a tank.
That is exactly why her design fails! You see her as a sniper (well, turned out, my brain interpreted her that way, too), I saw her as someone who punches hard (a la Vi from Arcane). And these glasses confused me even more. The only information her design gives me is that she is a "strong woman."
Ay mean if she's a tank she could still snipe the backlines squishies.
Actually that can be a very good design of a tank or at least original.
I think that doesn't threaten other things threaten the back lines that could be very cool
For my opinion. Bazz should using battle rifle like M14 type rifle with 20 bullets in magazine.

I don't think that they are better. IT-Z is already good enough in many ways just needs another outfit i feel like or variety of fits. Ngl thats the only good design in all of Concord I aint the only one who thinks this. Bazz I would straight up kick her out of the game & make a new character from scratch.
I have absolute creative freedom because I dont have to appeal to tokenist ideologes pressuring me so I can even make Bazz white and just do whatever I feel like feels an assassin female character. Feels good to be free.
My painting philosophy is that not every work is great, but every work can be saved to at least an ok condition. I want to show that these characters can work with some alterations, and you don't even have to think about it much. There is no contrast in the original designs, no variety in textures, not even a good pose. And even though It-Z stands out as the only interesting design, she still has problems with values and colors. The first time around I tried to change the color palette, the second time I brought her green back (because it's more interesting, in my opinion) and gave her alternative costume to add some personality to her overall bland look.
My goal is not to appeal to anybody because it's simply not possible. Deleting or changing these characters completely would be too easy. And not appropriate. After all, people searching for Concord redesigns want to see Concord redesigns, not my original characters. I treat this project as a good art challenge. You work within certain time and creative constraints with a bad (on almost every level) base and try to spin it to make it look better. You teach yourself to think and paint fast.
your bazz design is a lot better than the in-game one, the it-z design is also good, although I personally think that it go a bit too much into the feline features
but I found it interesting how this is the first concord "designfix" video that I have seen that have it-z, usually people leave It-z alone, probably because she is likely the best design in the whole game (although that is not high praise), the only problem I see when it comes to the 3d model would be the fact that the cheeks makes it seem as if she has an allergic reaction that have just been triggered, so personally I would slim down the face a bit, it would have the added effect of making her look more model like (but I am perfectly aware that that would never happen due to political reasons), maybe it is because she seem to actually be kind of fun, her personality really resemble the genki girl personality which is also one of the easier ways to make the audience fall in love with the character, it might sound weird but I genuinely like it-z, she is in my opinion the only kind of decent character, sure some improvements could be make but apart from some small problems the design is decent
now bazz on the other hand seem to be somebody playing a cruel joke, it is obvious that somebody went into blender (or whatever 3d program was used) and decided to create the most unappetizing-to-heterosexual-guys woman possible, I am actually kind of in awe of how awful it is, if this is representative of their abilities then the 3d modeler would do amazing work in the 3d horror game field and I would implore them to go from 3d modeling humans to 3d modeling monsters since they are halfway there already, no serious the bazz 3d model is peak modern social justice influenced character design (which if they were smart would never include in the game and delete the hell-file before it infect other 3d files on the pc (just to be safe)

i kinda wish the afro stayed. it was the best thing about that design. where they went wrong with the black woman was her body type. the clothes didn't accentuate her body. she was too covered up or she looked too fat in the clothes they gave her. at this point people would save their game if they just make a few sexy beautiful characters like the fire descendant did and call it a day. it will save your game instead of making big fugly characters. if a person gonna go for big, make an outfit that compliments a big girl's shape and not give her a bulky mech outfit or a big coat and some pants that is covering up too much and making them look even bulkier. some animation companies are very r@cist when it comes down to designs for black characters. and im glad this time it got called out and now people dont even wanna play a game where ALL CHARACTERS are fugly af.... only somewhat interesting character that they have is the afro girl just change the damn outfit and give her one that accentuates her shape.
The designs are better imo but i think they still don't work that well in the videogame but weirdly enough i think they would look better for some other kind of media. Be it movie, artbook or comic.
TF2 characters look generic but their diversity is in their personalities. Nerd guy, medic guy, blunt bombastic guy, etc.
i'm going to be honest . it-z is the design i mind the least along with haymar , though they still need reworks , and ftlog what are those names , please change them , retcon them or what ever , i'm just saying that those two aren't perfect but you have to change less than with the others

So this is me speaking as a hobby artist and a casual gamer
I really like your It-Z redesign. Her face looks more cat-like now, and doesn't have that thing where if she even tries smiling, her whole face scrunches like shes in pain (seriously whats wrong with her face in the game).
But the funny part is It-Z is so shit at conveying what her actual job is that even though the redesign is good, it still doesn't actually tell you what It-Zs in game role is (Note: Shes a Sombra type. Hacking, teleports, all that shit, even wielding an Uzi like her. Why hacking and machinery? Wheres her tools? How is she teleporting by summoning these little balls and clicking her fingers? It'd be like if you had Tracer but removed the Chrono Accelerator off her, so now you're not even sure how is she moving through time.) which isn't your fault, the Concord team had 8 years to figure this out.
Meanwhile, I like your Bazz idea.
What I like about seeing so many different artists Concord redesigns is seeing so many expressions of the artists to the ideas of what could have been

I'm not that familiar with mechanics of such games (I know there are usually tanks, engineers, healers), and I specifically didn't research Concord characters' roles to go blind into it (though, in hindsight, I had to do at least a little bit of research), so I thought that maybe she is some kind of light parkour/stealth character...
I love seeing other people's discussions and critiques, because, as a student who continues to actively absorb any valuable information on art and design, I find this situation being one of the best examples of how NOT to design a character. It's THE perfect teaching material.

This is a recurring issue with Concords designs. Terrible communication of role combined with lackluster to boring to incomplete to genuinely bad designs. Put up silhouettes of the characters and you'll see that the characters are mostly the same shape; realistic humanoid. It's just boring and conveys nothing. TF2 perfected this back in 2008 and it's insane to see a game in 2024 fucking this up.
I have a personal grudge against Lennox for being the lamest reptilian I've ever seen as a man who appreciates reptilian monster and alien designs

When a company spends hundreds of millions of dollars on a project, it does not want to create anything too risky because losing hundreds of millions is catastrophic. You want to go with the safest option that appeals to the broadest audience. Nowadays, it seems like companies try to appeal to an imagined audience. There's nothing good or bad in their buyers being mostly men just as there's nothing bad, I don't know, in doll collectors being mostly women.

Concord redesigns becoming a trend is pretty neat, it’s fun to see all the ways people make bland looking designs far more eye catching and fun. So far I’ve only disliked one persons attempts at redesigns because the guy in question openly called himself a “chud” (a term used to refer to people who are openly proud of holding bigoted views) and he kept making overtly weird comments about LGBT people for some strange reason (in particular he kept using “gay” in the same way a generic school bully from a 90s or 00s movie would use it).
@BloodRedFox2008 It's a good trend because it means more people through these videos will understand how important the work of designers is. Far too often, I hear that concept art isn't a serious job, that it takes to click 2 buttons in PS to magically make a good design appear.
