The fact Brian never had to rely on profanities in his act prove his true genius He is hysterical and you can watch with anyone Great Stuff Really Funny
I agree completely. So many comics rely way too much on profanities. I sometimes in the heat of the moment blurt out a profanity so I try not to, and I don’t mind really if a friend of mine does it occasionally. But it is definitely the case that most comedians who use profanities do so because many of their jokes aren’t good enough standing on their own. The reason I try to avoid most profanities is that I think it is the kind thing to do for other people… To not put images of excrement, sex acts and unsightly body parts into the minds of family, friends and strangers except when doing so is needed in order to properly explain something. I have also noticed that much of the time when I use profanities, it is my ego or pride at work… That part of me thinks that it’s cool or tough or something to swear. When I notice I am doing something out of ego or pride, I try to reduce or avoid doing it.
I know, right? This guy interviewing Brian doesn't even know his comedy. I LOVE Brian. I've followed him for years and have seen him 3 times. But, this interviewer is really bugging me...Bad questions, not engaging at all...
Just saw him live in Philly last night. My stomach is sore from laughing so hard. Your missing out if you dont catch him in your area. He's got stand up perfected
I still remember the night in 1992 when I first saw Brian Regan on Dennis Miller's late-night talk show. Best delivery of material I had ever seen by a stand-up comedian. When he sat down to huge applause, Miller said the obvious, "Brian, that's the funniest 5 minutes I've ever seen on television."
I love his bit about how the airport announcements telling passengers that they will be boarding soon. Their calm announcement must come out sounding more like "everyone hurry, run!," and t kreps getting more frantic, " Push and shove," and culminates with a crazed, "THIS IS THE LAST HELICOPTER OUT OF VIETNAM!" Makes me laugh every time.
Brian is right, just listening to him makes me laugh, and I don't even noticed that he is not swearing, but now that he mentions it, that's a great thing. He doesn't need foul language to be funny.
Brian Regan is one of those comedians where after you listen to him you can't live a normal life anymore, everything becomes a reference because his jokes are all around you haha
It's awesome that my wife and son turned me on to Brian before I ever knew who he was. We've seen him live several times now, and he's always entertaining. Quirky... and entertaining.
Brian Regan is an outstanding stand up comic. I don't have anything against blue material but for him to consistently deliver his material that is hilarious and family friendly is amazing. my GOAT IMO
Funny, funny, funny man. Makes me gut laugh uncontrollably. When i need it the most. His humor makes me laugh no matter how mant times i see it. Dogs barking/E-room/Flying/I walked on the moon. The right stuff. The BEST.
Brian is legendary! Saw him years ago in LA and never laughed so hard. I love the fact that he can be so funny and stay clean. It's the kind of comedy that can be seen and enjoyed by all from 5-105.
Love Rip Regan! I was thinking the same thing about having Fritzey slow down. Brian is so right about creating space for the audience to lean in. I don’t do comedy but am a public speaker and find that I need to build in space for the audience to keep up and have a brief emotional reaction - good, bad, funny, heartwarming, thought provoking, whatever the goal is. There are places where this can be predicted based on prior reactions -so mark those moments.
I remember hearing Brian Regan in high school. I was in Band class. We were preparing for a travel to perform at some other place. The teacher was cool with certain responsible students playing video games, DVD's, or comedy on the big television. One time, I walked in and heard some amazing jokes from a comedy album, playing through a PS2. It was Brian Regan. Then, it turned to Dane Cook. I just remember getting my percussion gear (drum set) ready and laughing as I packed-up!! This was around 2002-2003. Such great memories.
He used to do this bit many years ago about a farmer receiving crop subsidies to keep supply in check and prices up, and they would ask the farmer what he did for a living. With a smirk, the guy (Brian) would reply, “Well, I don’t grow corn.” But probably my favorite is his comedy on ‘Flying’. One of the greats!
Every time he does the first class airplane bit I can’t breath and start to cry so funny He says close the curtain I don’t even want to see them close it 😂
One of the funniest comics ever. I'll never forget the first time I saw/heard him. It was his famous pop tart joke. Oh man, did I cry laughing. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up. It's the version of him at the improv!
Brian Reagan and John Pinette are my two favorite clean comedians. Both are so hilarious and have specials that you can listen to hundreds of times and it never gets old.
He is my favorite stand-up comedian of all time. Saw him live in Austin several yrs ago and he was awesome. He definitely has a way with words, proof that there’s no need to curse to be funny. That’s an unnecessary crutch many use but it doesn’t make them funnier.
Brian's parents had 8 children and they took up 4 professions ( 2 firefighters,2 salesmen ,2 comics ,2 teachers ) if I recall, when he was on Seinfeld's Comedians in cars .
Dan Patrick, you're an excellent interviewer and you've got a great show. The sports world and the media in general would be better served with more stand-up guys like you in the industry.
Yes he's definitely telling the truth. I remember the first time I seen him when I was a kid and he was killing it on stage, but he had this one bit he was doing about a planet where he would throw his arms out in the air and he would slowly turn in circles, I guess it was his imitation of a planet being confused, which was funny the first time and maybe the second time he did it but after the third and fourth, some yolkal in the audience yells out " hey how the hell did you get up on stage" , and he was stunned for a good minute. He did eventually recover but he looked like a deer in the headlights when it happened. Always love this comedian he been a blessing to us all, and it keeps it clean.
I never even realized he was a "clean comic" to me he's just one of my all time favorites! I always remember him and quote him often to make others laugh! I never realized he wasn't as remembered by others I always think of him as one of the biggest comics! I also love that dog joke!
Even in "serious mode" Brian's humor shines. Now, don't forget Dennis! Those boys growing up had to be a handful! Two sets of humor: each keeps you on the floor crying, "Doctor, doctor...help me...I can't stop laughing...I blew my knee out in Kindergarten?"
Appreciate so much your work, brother! And never think ya gotta get 'dirty'. You have excellent intelligence and talent, and are hilarious without it. Wow, my wife & I and 3 kids for years have laughed and cried! Everytime on the road, "put on Brian!" They're all grown now, and still "Brian!" Thanks, brother! ✌️😎
When he asked Brian about getting heckled and how he handled it one night, with, “Stop it! You’re hurting my feelings!”, he seemed so embarrassed to share that story. I’ve never seen him blush before. 😢
Jesus you living under a rock dude even in the 90s I knew comedians from the 70s like Steve Martin and Richard Prier go out learn a bit about your world and the past man
So, you lost tonight. After Game 1, do you think tomorrow night's game is a must win? No, we can lose tomorrow. We can lose the game after that too. The NEXT game, that one is must win. :D
Listened to "All By Myself" and had to pause it or I would have suffocated laughing so hard. My brother saw him live and his face and abdomen hurt the next day.
It's fascinating to me see people not doing their "act" and see how different they can be. If you never saw him before and only watched this, you would never believe that he can make you cray laughing.
I really like Brian. I have always found him funny, and he seems like a genuine guy. He was really trying to give Fritzy some good advice about his aweful comedy.
You got a love that guys attempt at humor. Everyone thinks being a comedian is so easy and they could do it if they could just think of a joke. Brian Regan, sitting there, has a hard time explaining why the dude is not funny. Some people got it, some people definitely do not have it. The joke writing is only half the battle.
3:20 So true. They also respond to shock. I performed on a show in Philly. I did my usual set that pretty consistently went well elsewhere and got almost nothing. The crowd didn’t turn on me necessarily, but there was mostly deafening silence. A comic that went up later just went for it and killed. It was all hacky and predictable street jokes but the crowd loved it. The dude who just yelled, said “fuck” every other word, and pretended to be angry got the best response.
One of the best stand-ups ever. Been a fan for going on 30 years now. Wow. He's just brilliant. "You too!"
"If you ever fly someday."
Read the “you too” in Brian’s voice lol
👍 First joke of his that I ever heard.
Been a fan ever since.
He's simply, " one of the best!" 🥰
Hahahahaha!!
Brian's facial expressions alone are laugh inducing.
Not to mention his voice. He has a naturally funny voice, could talk about anything and I'd be laughing.
"You're becoming a big star." Come on, seriously? This dude has been a legend for decades.
The fact Brian never had to rely on profanities in his act prove his true genius He is hysterical and you can watch with anyone

Yes, very rare to be a successful clean comedian.
One of my favorite comics. He's genuine and likeable, as well as witty and funny.
He tells friggin Brian REGAN that “he’s becoming a big star.” Thirty years ago yes. Now, he’s the greatest ever, a comedian’s comedian.
Yes he's the best.

Very funny comedian. I’d say one of my top favorites! Brian, you’re extremely talented.
Regan is one of my favorite stand up comedians. I've seen most of his TV specials multiple times and they still crack me up.
I appreciate Brian is a “clean” comedian. I love comedy and can leave him on when my kids are around.
But at the same time, I hate when people bring it up almost inevitably after his name gets mentioned. I feel like his comedy stands on its own.
So true mon frere.
Clean comedy....thanks Brian! 🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂😂
How he responds to hecklers. “Stop, you’re hurting my feelings.” LoL Im gonna say that whenever anyone makes fun of me now
Brian Regan is one of the funniest comedians ever. Legendary.
Just saw him live in Philly last night. My stomach is sore from laughing so hard. Your missing out if you dont catch him in your area. He's got stand up perfected
I saw him live up in Canada up in an igloo in the Northwest territories with the Chimahamawachin tribe. it was amazing

Love this guy. I can recite all his jokes word for word. Everything he does is classic.
I think ot may be time to write your own material....
His walkie talkie bit was great. I still laugh when I think of it.
You can recite 30 to 40 years worth of material, word for word? You're either a savant or a psycho...
Agree. I rate comedians. He’s the only one Ive ever given three girth-units.
These butterflies I can’t take the pressure !
Brian Regan and Jim Gaffigan are my two favorite clean comedians.🎭
You might like Nate Bargatze too
@@mastod0n1 He is great!

He is one of the few comedians I can tell people at church about and that I like him.
@President Donald J. Trump Smartest thing you've ever said, Mr. President. Lol
Brian is nothing short of brilliant. Love is approach to humor
Brian is Mt. Rushmore level funny. I still remember his set from 1994 I saw on tv.
