What an awesome dog - I can't wait to get one!! My golden has to retire this year, but I don't have the heart to get a puppy until he goes to the big hunting ground in the sky!
The dog is moving because the bird is moving. Mine also does this. He will also stay on point for an hour if the bird doesn't move. The flush was way out because the dog found the bird way out. Your hunting in a perfect world if you dog never flush's a rooster. Great dog and Great video.
Looks just like my Benson Von Hollow in the field, except Benson chases the birds if i miss. I hope this is just a puppy phase. He'll be two in May. Also, I'm having trouble getting him to heel. He wants to hunt 24/7. Despite "my" problems adjusting from labs, I am a wirehair owner for life now. Any suggestions on training him would be greatly appreciated!
Not great training. The dog should never break point and creep on a pheasant. The flush was way out, and the dog should not flush either, the owner flushes.
The dog was like "SHOOT IT SHOOT IT SHOOOOOOT IIITTTT"
that dog stopped dead in his tracks when he heard that whistle- that was cool to see
