The pastor that was trying to argue that Matthew wrote his gospel right after the ascension is astonishing. As far as I know, no Christian ever believed such a thing. The whole video seems built upon the premise that Luther has the same authority as the apostles and that those chosen as pope and Bishops somehow have less authority because Luther personally thought he was closer to scripture and the early church. Or even more succinctly, its entire premise is a giant false equivalency.
For claiming not to believe anything outside scripture, yet your dressing code is outside scripture, that’s hypocrisy. Believing in sola scripture yet again the Bible says there’s another (at least) authority outside scripture it’s crazy.
Bro. We don't believe Holy Scripture is the only authority but it's the final authority since it alone is the only infallible authority we posses. Other authorities such as creeds, councils and fathers are fallible and and tested to Scripture.
@thejerichoconnection3473 This is what the fathers say as well that Holy Scripture has the final say as one put it. St. Athanasius states Scripture is sufficient to declare all truth. Not necessarily me but others too, I can be blinded. The council of Nicaea II which allowed icons there were fathers that disagreed centuries before and during that time. Why do you accept all councils without question? Scripture states it alone is infallible and is used for correction 2 Tim 3:16-17.
@ 2 Tim 3:16-17 nowhere states that Scripture *alone* is infallible. For some reason, you Protestants have this tendency of adding the word “alone” to Scripture everywhere it is convenient for you, to push your agenda. Those verses don’t say absolutely anything about Scripture being the only infallible rule of faith. They don’t even say Scripture is sufficient for salvation, for that matter. Is that all you have? Sounds like you don’t have any biblical support for your foundational doctrine.
@thejerichoconnection3473 It states that Scripture is "complete to equip for every good work" since Scripture completes man for every good work then nothing else is needed. Why is it I'm only answering your questions but you're not answering mine? You can challenge my view but I can't challenge yours? Do you want to have an honest dialogue or not?
The fact that you think you can “take on” these two is amusing. You are so out of your depth compared to these two I can’t even come close to covering all the errors. The biggest issue is probably your complete lack of understanding of Sola Scriptura. It is simply submitting to divine revelation as the highest form of authority. In the age of the prophets and apostles that was ongoing and available in oral and written form, but in this age, all that remains is what was written down. As far as I’m aware, Rome isn’t claiming to be putting out new prophecies that trump scripture so in theory they are subject to the same standard. Even the apostolic teachings were tested against the scriptures by people like the Bereans (Acts 17:11). Your comments on divorce are a bit rich coming from a person who abandoned their first wife (th-cam.com/video/VlHH_EUYVe4/w-d-xo.html ) because of an obsession with Roman Catholicism and then went on to get remarried (th-cam.com/video/oW2n4KF2-QI/w-d-xo.html ). If that is the fruit of your conversion I think there’s some need for self reflection before criticizing others. The Roman position of claiming divorce is impossible and handing out “annulments” like candy is very duplicitous. It’s a lot like the Calvinist doctrine of “perseverance of the Saints” where they claim anyone who falls away from the faith was never a believer to begin with. Lastly, it is hilarious that you criticize them for copying “Roman” collars. Clerical collars were invented by Anglicans and copied by Rome.
"but in this age, all that remains is what was written down" - Where do you get this from? For the rest of your facile argument without addressing specifics with timestamps, everything is unsubstantiated so I won't even bother.
@The_Catholic_Christian I get it from the Catechism of the Catholic Church. “The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - CCC 66 "The Sacred Scriptures contain the Word of God and, because they are inspired, they are truly the Word of God" - CCC 135

30:01 “I say nothing about the fire and place of purgatory, not because I deny them, but because that discussion is another one which I do not undertake to bring up at this time. . . . I am positive that there is a purgatory, “(Explanations of the Ninety-Five Theses, Aug. 1518)
"We concede - as we must - that so much of what they [the Catholic Church] say is
true: that the papacy has God's word and the office of the apostles, and that we have received Holy Scriptures, Baptism, the Sacrament, and the pulpit from them. What would we know of these if it were not for them"
Sermon on the Gospel of St. John,
ch 14 - 16 (1537), in vol. 24 of LUTHER's WORKS.
It is so weird that they want to quote Galatians 1:8
But should we, or an angel from Heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed
Yet they introduce two new doctrines of solace scriptura and solace fide.
As Protestants like to say test the spirit. How many denominations that claim solace scriptura are there?
A Luthern Bishop named Arne Ludvin wrote an impassioned 3 part letter to his Luthern synod back in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s trying to convince them not to adopt the modern Protestant interpretation of Matt 19:9. It makes for an interesting reading and some good points are presented.
➔ The entire foundation of Protestantism is false:...
➔The Bible ITSELF Contradicts Luther's doctrine of "scripture alone" (solascriptura) The Bible tells us that the authority is THE CHURCH: ...
● 1 TIMOTHY 3:15 The pillar & foundation of TRUTH is the CHURCH.
● 2 THESS 2:15 We are to hold fast to the TRADITIONS we have been given, either by WORD OF MOUTH or by the letter.
● 2 TIMOTHY 2 Thou therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things that thou hast HEARD from me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach others also.
● EPHESIANS 3:10 10 His intent was that now, THROUGH THE CHURCH, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms,
● JOHN 21:25 Jesus said & did Many other things that are too numerous to be recorded in writing.
● 1 COR 11:2 I commend you because you remember me in everything, and maintain the TRADITIONS even as I have delivered them to you.
● HEB 13:17 Obey the eldars in the CHURCH.
● COR 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
● HEBREWS 13:17 Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.
2 COR 5:20 says that God appointed men in the Church to represent Him. And, in HEB 13:17, God appointed men in the Church to have the rule over His Flock.
● JOHN 13:20 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that receiveth whomsoever I send receiveth me; and he that receiveth me receiveth him that sent me.
● MATT 18:15-17
15 Moreover if thy brother shall trespass against thee, go and tell him his fault between thee and him alone: if he shall hear thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
16 But if he will not hear thee, then take with thee one or two more, that in the mouth of two or three witnesses every word may be established.
17 And if he shall neglect to hear them, tell it unto THE CHURCH: but IF HE NEGLECTS TO HEARTHE CHURCH let him be unto thee as an heathen man and a publican.
The True Church is a TEACHING Church: (to Teach means to impart knowledge that is not presently know....not in writing)
● JOHN 14:26-31
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall TEACH you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have SAID unto you. (Spoken words...not in writing)
(To TEACH is to impart knowledge that is not presently known....not in writing)
● ACTS 8:31: And he said, HOW CAN I, (understand scripture) EXCEPT SOMEONE SHOULD GUIDE ME? And he desired Philip that he would come up and sit with him.
(The scriptures are not for individual interpretation. They need the guidance of the CHURCH. It is PROTESTANTS who are following the doctrines of a man.)

➨GOOD WORKS IN THE BIBLE: ....
The following scriptures all demand good works from us in order to emnter the kingdom of God and all of them were copied directly from the protestant version of the bible by Cynthia x:...
👉👉 Jesus himself contradicts the protestant doctrine of "faith alone" He tells us in Matt 25 that we must feed the hungry and clothe the naked if we expect to enter the kingdom of God, and he warns us that if we do not do these GOOD WORKS that we will be sent away into the eternal fire.
Here's a few more scriptures that protestants skip over: ...
👉👉 EPHESIANS 2:10 (KJV)
Protestants "prove" their false doctrine of "faith alone" By quoting EPH 2:8-9
👉👉 and they STOP before they get to number 10:
8 For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (most protestants stop here instead of continuing on to 10):
👉👉 10 FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD HAS BEFORE ORDAINED, THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.
MORE scriptures that demand good works from us:
● REV 20:12...The dead are judged BY THEIR WORKS.
● REV 22:12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man ACCORDING TO HIS WORK shall be.
● REV 19:8
And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.
● JAMES 2:18 Faith without works is dead
● MATTEW 19:17 Jesus tells us if we want to enter into Life, we must keep the commandments.
● MATTHEW 5:16 In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your GOOD DEEDSand glorify your Father in heaven.
● JAMES 2:24 A man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
● ROMANS 2:6 He will judge everyone ACCORDING TO WHAT THEY HAVE DONE.
● ROMANS 2:13 (For not the hearers of the law are just before God, but the doers of the law shall be justified.
● MATTHEW 7:21 Not everyone who says to me: "Lord Lord will enter into the kingdom of heaven but only those WHO DO THE WILL OF MY FATHER.
● PHILIPPIANS 2:12-13 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, WORK OUT YOUR OWN SALVATION WITH FEAR AND TREMBLING; 13 for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.
● MATT 25:35-40 JESUS tells us to feed the hungry & clothe the naked (good works). He further warns us that those who do NOT will be sent away into the eternal fire., but those who do these WORKS will enter the Kingdom of Heaven.
● LUKE 16:19-30 The story of Lazarus and the rich man shows us that the rich man went to hell for refusing to help Lazarus who was poor and hungry. (He refused to do good works)
● TITUS 3:14 KJV And let our's also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
● EPHESIANS 2:8-11 (KJV)
Protestants "prove" their false doctrine of "faith alone" By quoting EPH 2:8-9
and they STOP before they get to number 10:
8 For by GRACE are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. (most protestants stop here instead of continuing on to 10):
➨ 10 FOR WE ARE GOD'S WORKMANSHIP, CREATED IN CHRIST JESUS UNTO GOOD WORKS, WHICH GOD HAS BEFORE ORDAINED, THAT WE SHOULD WALK IN THEM.
● 1 COR 9:27 (KJV) (Paul speaking) But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a cast away.
● MATT 12:36-37
36 But I say unto you, That every idle WORD THAT MEN SHALL SPEAK, they shall give account thereof in the day of judgment.
37 For BY THY WORDS THOU SHALL BE JUSTIFIED, and BY THY WORDS THOU SHALL BE CONDEMNED.
(not by yout faith alone)
● JAMES 2:16-18
16 and one of you says to them, “Go in peace [with my blessing], keep warm and feed yourselves,” but he does not give them the necessities for the body, what good does that do? 17 So too, faith, if it does not have works [to back it up], is by itself dead [inoperative and ineffective].
18 But someone may say, “You [claim to] have faith and I have [good] works; show me your [alleged] faith without the works [if you can], and I will show you my faith by my works [that is, by what I do].”
● JAMES 2:21 Was not our father Abraham considered righteous for what he did when he offered his son Isaac on the altar?
The whole video seems built upon the premise that Luther has the same authority as the apostles and that those chosen as pope and Bishops somehow have less authority because Luther personally thought he was closer to scripture and the early church. Or even more succinctly, its entire premise is a giant false equivalency.
I think you're right.
sunday servise was product from tradition.
Everything was from Tradition!

@@andreeattieh2963 thank you!
@@reformedcatholic457 and who is going to test the councils? You?
Please, prove sola scriptura from Scripture, if you can.
@The_Catholic_Christian
I get it from the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
“The Christian economy, therefore, since it is the new and definitive Covenant, will never pass away; and no new public revelation is to be expected before the glorious manifestation of our Lord Jesus Christ.” - CCC 66
"The Sacred Scriptures contain the Word of God and, because they are inspired, they are truly the Word of God" - CCC 135
