In the case of Gale hes not really level 1 hes essentially going through lvl 1 again. In D&D there are situations where you can be kicked out of Epic levels of power. Wyll is in a similar situation, but unlike Gale who knows EXACTLY why isn't as strong as he used to be, Wyll isn't certain why he lost his power. Lae'zel by Githyanki standards is basically a baby with a silver spoon. She is nowhere near as powerful or loved as she thinks she is.
Viewing it like that, it makes a lot more sense, thanks for taking the time to let me know. I also love the image of of a baby Lae'zel wielding a silver spoon like a great sword. Hope you enjoyed the video!
In DnD, a level 1 player character is still in a league beyond any normal person. So it does make sense for a level 1 character to be a "renowned scholar" or something equivalent.
Actually now it's coming out August 3rd on PC. PS5 is coming out September 6th. They moved up the release date on PC so that it's not in competition with Starfield. And they moved back the one on PS5 so that they can take and get 60fps.
What a refreshing video, just a guy who's really excited about something and sharing it. Your enthusiasm was infectious and got me even more excited to play. Nice work with the editing too. Best wishes and happy hunting on August 3rd my friend.
That’s what is so great about his content! His videos have gotten me to try out other games like VA-11 Hall-A and Resident Evil 2 Remake because of the enthusiasm!
Larian confirmed that the highest level is 12. For the scale For the start, i think it makes sense bc you dont fight the demon alone. In-universe the mind flayer does the most and you only stabbing from the side for me
I'm so excited for the full release. But I do agree about the start with the mindflayers. I really wish you felt like you have to run to give a sense of scale and the disparity between you and things like mindflayers or demons. I'd prefer if you could take the small minions but the game made that moment like "You need to get out of here while they're occupied fighting each other or you're screwed."
Yeah i also like how cinematic it is at the same time. It would be cool tho if they added like dlc type stuff where its you before the start of the story maybe just doing simple things around the city. Like if your a rogue just robbing and fighting thugs ect.
The YT algorithm brought me here, and I gotta say, I'm really liking the vibe of you and the channel. Your attitude is upbeat and cheerful, in a way that doesn't feel forced or like you're trying too hard; it's also refreshing to not have the kind of 'edgy dude bro' humour that's so pervasive in so many other gaming channels. The way you talk about games feels genuine, and I found myself smiling throughout the video because of how infectious YOUR excitement over the game was. Wishing you lots of success with the channel, but above all, I hope you maintain that sense of genuine positivity throughout! Anyway, I agree with your concerns about how BG3 starts. If the game's beginning is already this epic and high stakes, how much room does that leave for the story & game to grow? That being said, I haven't played the early access, and maybe the final game will turn out fine in terms of pacing and story progression. Still looking forward to it though!
Thank you for this really nice comment, passion for stuff I'm into was the goal of making the channel. Glad you enjoyed it, and hope you have a great time when the full game releases!
Oh cool, I've been wanting to watch some BG3 content before it comes out, I held off on it in early access but I'm looking forward to trying it in 1.0. Gonna sit and watch this in a bit!
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! To tell the truth, I was very skeptical about the whole early access release scheme because I figured that Larian would not know how to handle a development schedule with essentially an open beta active. They've had years of crafting their Divinity series of games and gained a SOLID following because of it, so I dreaded the screw-up that would remove them from grace like what happened with CDPR and Cyberpunk (for different reasons). Having said that, I AM glad that they decided to do it this way, because what makes D&D great is the COMMUNITY as a whole, and this strategy totally respects that fact!
Thanks for watching! I can totally get that approach, I was a fellow person burned pretty bad with Cyberpunk (I though it be cool to get it for ps4 lol). cautiously optimistic seems like a solid approach with future releases.
Divinity OS had early acces too tho. The only difference was that BG3 was a lot longer in development. Larian learned how to handle a big project with DOS 2, they wasted months without progress in dos2 bc it was their first project as a big Studio (from around 20 people and one Studio to 200 people and 4 studios) For the development of bg3 they use the things they learned from that development process
In fairness, your characters would die pretty quick on that Nautiloid if any of the high level antagonists on the ship decided to take notice of you. The enemies you are forced to face (Imps & Hellboars) are definitely within your Challenge Level. Once you crash land, your initial encounters are again within your challenge level (like the Tomb Raiders & those undead in the Crypt area).
While I understand your point with starting on level 1 and that it makes no sense for certain characters, the level cap is at 12. So it wouldn't really be exciting to fight rats and wolves for the first third of the game. Better have what we have now with great story and foes right from the start. Also the cambions and mindflayers on the nautiloid ship are level 6 or 7 if I remember correctly and you are technically not really supposed to fight them yet. But of course you can cheese them for exp and items😂

@@Pollymacho I thought the video was great!
I'll be inrterested to find out why Karlach is such a relatively low level too, given her experience in the Blood Wars.

What glorious news for pc, thanks for letting me know!

Oh rad! Thanks for checking this one out Zuldim!
How does "Release Date Pushed Forward" sound to you? The game is now launching on PC on the 3rd of August (31st of July for us Early Access folks).
Why that's sounds pretty sweet! It's time for some joyful orangutan noises.

I didn't care about d&d or baldurs gate games but this video make me excited to play them thanks man👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Even if they characters story match a journey from level 8 to level 10, ask yourself if going from 1 to 10 (12) isn't more fun for everyone to play...
