I think you were being nice with the rep there. That looked like lurching on your creep test. Pulling into fuel terminals into the loading racks, there is minimal clearance on either side and your lineup to the loading arms take only inches before your out of position. An over zealous terminal operator will not let you back up in the loading rack and will make you exit and re-enter the terminal. That lurching is a problem. Im used to feathering the clutch to get it right where I want it.
Driving a 2017 international LT with a cummins and eaton transmission right now .you almost go through the wind shield when backing up or going forward but for some reason not one truck drives the same . I shift is probably the smoothest transmission i’ve ever drove
I own a truck with the mDrive, which is the same thing for Mack, and I can agree 100%. I have no regrets with this truck, and it's a friggin 2014. They did it right, IMHO.
Hears an idea. How about turning the truck off when you're trying to talk outside of the truck so it's better to hear you're explanation of how the truck handles or give specs customers need to know.
Kenworth w900b has a wider grill than the Kenworth w900l. The b model was released in 1982 and Kenworth discontinued the W900A. While Peterbilt was still making the 359 before they discontinued the 359 in 1987 after they introduced and released the 379 was released in 1987. In 2007 Peterbilt discontinued the 379 and released the 389. In 1990 Kenworth released the W900L. Great Video.
Are volvo have smart transmission they learn what your pulling and after a bit they will start in proper gear. And they skip gears and they smooth out.

Would love a w900 B, but as long as they keep my t800s rollin off the line im happy. Runnin an 09 with a c13 at about a million on it. Only problem is rhe dpf, otherwise you cant kill these things. Love em.

Every Kenworth is a fine vehicle but the W900 is the KING!!! Especially with the VIT and Seattle interior packages in the big Studio Sleeper. The T680 is a highway only rig. Too aerodynamic for me. Maybe it's time for PACCAR to go the way Mack used to be: build your own everything; that's what the gold Bulldog stands for. One thing that the manual can do that the automatic and automated transmissions can't do: rock yourself out of a situation.

Hey there Justin, I hope you're all well and good! I really like the 2 new aero twins from PACCAR, with the 579 Ultraloft being my favorite. The emissions systems are constantly being refined, especially on the Cummins X15 with the heavy lifting already being done, so for the new standards last year (2021) they looked at refining what they already had, and amazingly they not only met the new standards, but they also managed to increase the efficiency, something not easily done. As for the Automated Endurant transmission, I'll take a Fuller Ultrashift Automated 18 speed any day. As far as I'm concerned, if I'm running OTR with 80K lbs, I'll take a 15 L engine over a 13 L engine any day, so that rules out the PACCAR, and the Volvo, and while Detroit does still offer a 15 L and even a 16 L, I don't want anything to do with a Freight shaker. You can get an airide front axle on both the 579 and T680 as an option. I think that 680 that you drove and was concerned about the ground clearance, probably had low profile 22.5 tires, which would be about 4 inches smaller in diameter, or have about a 2 inch lower ride height when compared to an 11R 24.5 . Eventually you're going to have to embrace aero trucks and emissions, because they're here to stay. You like your new Ram Limited pickup, with all the bells and whistles, plus that new Eco Hemi don't ya? Would you like to go back to a 1990 Dodge, with a 383 engine that got about 11 MPG's and rode like a wagon? I'm betting you wouldn't, so why would you want to in a truck? Emissions are a nightmare for us and we cannot get reliability out of the newer motors. I love the new trucks just not the emission part. Aerodynamic doesn’t do us any good. The t680 we had for 6 years was almost the worst performer out of our fleet …. The 680 was spec for our type of work so that did hinder mpg…. Ill be looking at new ones again when the prices level out. For now I’ll put my money on gliders …. ✌🏽 Thankyou for watching

The only reason KW and Peterbilt have continued to produce the 900 and the 389 is that it costs significantly less to produce a product that has seen little to no changes in decades, no new parts, tools, stampings, castings, molds, and most importantly, no R&D which can cost hundreds of millions of dollars, and take up to 5 years, as in the case of PACCAR's bringing 2 new trucks to market, the NexGen T680 KW and the New Model 579 Peterbilt .

Justin why don't just go over to Caledonia Diesel and see what kind of old school pre emissions trucks they have . I know you are close to them . I have been there and even bought a truck from them . It was a piece of garbage I would admit . I don't think it was their fault though . I did tell my boss not to buy it but he insisted . I do love the new trucks , but they are worse than boats when it come to having to keep spending money on them . They are not reliable and alway break down when you need them the most . And that is truly a shame !

It it pretty ridiculous, Fitzgerald was a brand unto itself. Until they were basically outlawed thru regulation out of business. If you want a "glider" today you gotta build your own. We run bulk hoppers with ag exemption, as an admission what a red tape failure FMCSA regulations are they have to exempt the farming and food production industry from their ridiculous regulations. If we tried to rub farms on an ELD hours of service the world would starve! They regulate what parts you can and cannot have on your trucks, what hours you can run. I understand we want safe roads and drivers. But sometimes people just have to use common sense and you guys running OTR commercial are putting up with so much red tape, it's no wonder freight is not moving efficiently. Not to mention all of these emmisions trucks are basically 500K mile throw away junk. The new Cascadias are just rattling shaking plastic trucks, but there the only newer truck tou can maybe get into a shop for any work, and even thst takes a week.
They need to make a next gen with manual shift. Automatic takes the trucking, gear jamming out if trucking. It disappointing to see all these new automatic trucks.
We have guys here that swear up and down that they'll never buy a manual truck. Then they refuse to run the higher paying loads because of the hills and all the shifting required.
Um the red truck is not new. Proof is in the 5 IFTA stickers on the side. Isn't there a law on how many IFTA stickers you can have on the side? It also has rusted wheels.
This is what happens when you outsource the manufacturing and labor sources. It completely ruins our supply chain and causes massive inflation while losing jobs.
I hate to say this, but I don't think you learned your lesson from the last t680. You're going to have freaking def issues up to ying yang! Plus, you're falling into the trap of the plastic trucks. If you were to buy a plastic truck today alongside of a w900 and sell them in 4 years which truck do you think you would get more money for? Any fuel mileage that you save in the t680 will be negated by the selling price of the w900. Plastic trucks are for chumps and I have no respect for anyone who drives them. Take care!

Might be a little late but I think it was 8 locations. Full service was 5 in NY and 1 in MA. Then 2 parts locations in MA.
