I love that this entire time Garrett has never changed! From showin off Bailey's car... to now being potentially in competition with him sooner than later. He has kept the same excitement, same drive, and honestly im so dang Proud of him... and his ability to pick HANDS DOWN the best crew to have around himself.... he DEFINITELY deserves all the subs he has and some!

Most commercial jets can't even take flight at 205mph. The slowest a comet flies is 2,000mph

It was a Texas speed motor. Now a Steve Morris engine. Kevin built an awesome car.
What I love about Mullet: it's like you said. It's a completely legit street car that runs sixes at 200+ mph--but doesn't look awkward on the freeway or in town. Most other cars at that level look weird and out of place on the street. But Mullet belongs there--and also at the track.

Yep. That LS was puking its guts out trying to hit low 7s. This new engine just keeps pulling and pulling even at the end of the quarter mile. You can clearly hear the difference and it’s not even dialed in that well yet.
The engine SOUNDED like it was making a 8.50 pass, I can’t wait to see what this thing is really capable of!

Those wind turbines on the drive to the track weren't spinning until mullet's turbskies got within 1 nautical mile and sucked the atmosphere so hard it changed the jet stream.

They probably were spinning but with all the air being sucked from behind them they stopped and started spinning in the opposite direction!
Kevin and Cleetus it's really exciting to watch you bring Mullet along, improving every step of the way. Hopefully the next track will be even better because there is little doubt in my mind, if the wheels don't spin you will be running 6s every time. Good luck. For the race where the fuel is limited for 3 runs the 2 cylinder trick to run back to the start is ideal !
it runs on pump gas between runs though, only runs on meth once he hits the 2 step or gets into boost

Putting it in perspective... 8 sec pass is 8000 milliseconds average blink 150 milliseconds. 2 blinks and you are blind for almost 4% of your run. I would rather have sore eye than blink even once going such speeds 👀

For how heavy Mullet is she moves out freaking quick. She scoots
Turbo Big block torque, a good tire, and a well set up chassis will go faster than anyone thinks possible, even on that heavy of a car, mullet could go faster and stick even better if he was set up just a hair better, though Kevin is pretty damn good.

@@bigboreracing356 umm, it was the fastest pass of the day and you dont seem to know that the track conditions matter. NO high HP car was hooking up well, so everyone had to turn it down... If you didnt know, the whole east coast has been getting destroyed with rain. The tracks are not ideal for 6 second passes.

In addition to drag racing and cars, this channel could definitely use some powerboats. Imagine Ol' Cleeter in a 41' apache rippin through the Florida Ocean with twin supercharged 540s? Maybe throw a Donzi or Cigarette in there as well? Thats a dream job right there

Hell yeah man.. and Kevin Smith my man on the keyboard.. working slowly towards a 6 less than 10 total passes into a complete new setup and turned way way down from the shit condition in Edgewater , kinda funny this is like the old setup maxed out needing bearings after 3-5 passes like that. I was one of the "haters" who has been suggesting for some time to move on from the LS, it makes me smile from ear to ear seeing you in mullet now, it is impressive what you have done with that platform, and what you continue to do with it in other cars, but you are one hell of a driver, and ADDICTED to freedom, beyond what the LS family is realistically capable of, especially when you push limits like you do. The level of engineering and farbrication that have been put into that ute (I'm an aussie and refuse to call it a truck) deserved another level of powertrain and I can't wait to see where this leads you
A lot of us Americans refuse to call them trucks too. They have always been in a weird spot where we don't have any certain category to fit them in. They use the g-body platform which would make it a car yet it has a bed like a truck. Correct me if I'm wrong but the Holden Commodore Ute is the same way and built on the Zeta platform along with the sedan.
Man, there's a lot more "driving" involved when you cross that 200mph mark. Car looks like an absolute handful.
Ya, there were times when he would celebrate a good run before he even got to the 1/4 mile mark, now it's all business until the chutes are out and it's shut down.

After running meth through it for so long I would definitely change the spark plugs. I know it was diluted but it definitely wouldn’t hurt to swap a new set in just in case lol
Looks like they had several sets of plugs in the trailer since they've swapped them out at least once each day.
The engine sound descriptions are the best. We need more of this.
Seeing Cleet at my home track is a pretty awesome feeling given how far US41 has come in last couple of years.

What’s most impressive about this setup is how you can drive it long distances on the street towing a trailer and race it. The dual fuel systems and build is just awesome.
Imagine if he went with the SMX variant lol.. Now that woulda be insane!... I bet he does in the future.. SMX is pure insanity.. Full billet long block, fully water jacketed, full endurance motor capable of 5000hp.. lol
Let's not forget you have to do the lash once a day at least. It's a lotta work but definitely worth it to put on that kinda show.....says the guy sitting on his couch not pulling coils and valve covers.

@@marcog3210 No, it has a standard Steve Morris Big Block with the billet intake. Thats it.. But to say "thats it" on a Steve Morris motor is saying A LOT lol... Because its still a 3000hp capable motor... SMX is like 4500-5000hp motor. Next step up pretty much.

I still think it's worth going down the Tyre pressure route.
Lower pressures = larger contact patch on launch
Lower pressures = more heat in the tyre as the incompressible air inside heats up instead of compressing (etc)
I only say this because I don't ever see much tyre wrinkle
I think Mullet might need some carbon brakes. He's getting so fast that some of these tracks shut down might not be long enough.
I don't know much so I could be very wrong here but wouldn't carbon brakes be bad for a drag car since they're only used for a few seconds and don't really grab till they're hot? Or is 205mph plenty fast to get them grabbing?
@@rob1721 That is a good point, and the street driving would likely suffer even more than on the track. There are quite a few compounds of pads, but I have heard some are made for road coarse racing where they keep the brakes hot. They would be bad on the street. I think the hawk pads I run on my 79 C20 pickup are called fero carbon and they are made for street vehicles and give more aggressive braking hot or cold. He has double parachutes because of the speed, but we saw what happened when a chute failed on Tom Bailey's car and Cleetus trashed the brakes with the emergency stop. I wonder what Tom uses for brakes and compound.

Thing is if Mullet hadn't pulled so hard to the right and you had to center it, that might have been a 6.
You can always tell a pilot, we use aviation apps for EVERYTHING, the amount of times if we're away and I want to know the temperature I google the METAR for the nearest airfield.
